What Tracy and I have decided to do is take the points provided by PK and give everyone 10 points who participated in last week's task. If you have any issues or disagreements about your current total, please feel free to contact me or Tracy via PM and we'll get it sorted out. Also, if you would like to purchase any of the items listed below, please send a PM as well.

This thread will also be updated on a regular basis with current point totals for each housemate.

Items Available for Purchase

15 points: A custom title of your choice for a week (image or not).
30 points: The ability to use VIP colors for one week.
30 points: A custom avatar of your choice uploaded for one week.
50 points: A "cannot be booted" pass for the week of your choice.
60 points: One week's posting privilege to the entire JC.

 

It would also be helpful to include the total number of points still available for use. For instance, if Terr has used some number of points for a custom icon, then he doesn't really have 49 points available for use anymore. The 49 are relevant for ranking purposes only.

Just to confirm - if we buy something, we're not booted down to 0 and then run the risk of being booted on a low-points eviction week, correct?

 

At this point, I am looking to eliminate the low point eviction. No pun intended of course.

 

Very nice thread... except for the bit of pointing out how incredibly lazy and irresponsible I've been.

 

The only house mate that has spent any points is Terr Mys, and he has spent 15 points on his icon. Well keep track of that, yes, Rhett.

Also carmen, there will be no more evictions based solely on lowest amount of points, so no worries there.

When I suggested the idea for this thread, I also proposed a list of evicted/otherwise removed housemates and the dates on which they left. Would that be possible to tack on to the end of the first post and update with every eviction? Just to keep track of how the membership has been going throughout the game.

 

1. What's the deal with the voting for task 5?
2. Please do the grading thing that RMC started just before the host switch.
3. If you're not going to keep the elimination vote thread towards the top of the YJCC forum, than please at least put a notice in this forum who's up for elimination. You should really do that anyway.

Will the points be updated today?
In the future can the nomination thread be found in both this forum and YJCC?

By entire JC does this mean MS as well?
I mean it states "entire JC" and MS is part of the JC!

Yeah Chris answered the question for me a few days ago.

It is just that when you type "entire JC" someone who takes it for the literal meaning would think that the entire JC is open for discussing including all MS boards. Anyway thank you for answering my question.

Ok, I have a rules clarification question, I'll try to detail it out as best I can...

The 50 point get out of being evicted card. I haven't seen anything specific about this and was talking to Seldon about it and I have some questions that would probably benefit everyone to have the explained by the hosts.

When are you allowed to purchase this pass? I'm assuming anytime, but there's different ramifications depending on when you do it.
- Do you have to buy it before nominations are announced?
- If no, then if you're one of the two people nominated and you buy a pass, what happens to the vote?

What I'd like to hear is that if you buy your way out of a vote, the next (3rd) highest nominated person is put up for eviction. If that person decides to buy their way out, then the 4th highest, and so on. If it causes everyone who has 50 points to burn thru them, then fine...

...But, what I hope isn't the case, is if 2 people are up, one buys their way out, the other is automatically booted. There's no sport in that, and there's no reason for people to use their points for other things, such as icons, posting elsewhere, colors, etc,...things that make this game special rather than the run of the mill mafia/survivor thread game. Up to this point, there really hasn't been a ton of tasks to let people stock pile points, which might have been how the other games were, I don't know, but they seem to hard to earn to just blow them on petty things.

Anyway, while with my less than 50 points total would make me a target for this particular strategy, I'm really doing this have some clarification for all. It's looking like I may have to resign out of the game eventually anyway, whether I'm booted this week or not, so I have nothing to gain or loose, other than understanding. Thanks.

 

I totally agree with Sebulba. This has been a very much neglected point. The way James once described it, as Seb does above, was ridiculous. The only effective and reasonable way for the pass to work is if it is used prior to nominations being sent in from the Housemates. That means that you might use your pass on a week that you didn't really need it, but too bad. Having the pass used even after the JC vote has taken place is completely ridiculous. Using it after nominations have been made is equally ridiculous.

I hope you guys can come to some reasonable way to use the pass, or ignore the idea altogether. The current setup is just plain stupid.

At this point in the game maybe we should do away with the buy your way out of the game and actually start having contests to see who wins a power of veto and then we actually start sending our votes in Friday night and we the house get told Saturday and the person who has the veto they have the choice to use it or not even if they get put up. Then if someone uses it then the next person goes up and then on Sunday you guys let the rest of the JC know whos up so they can vote.

Just a thought. If not I think we do need some clairfications on the rule.
