When you lose a child, it's more than you can bear or imagine, because it seems to go completely against nature. Your soul cries out against the wrongness. When you lose more than one, you are stunned, broken, numb. But you pick up and go on, for those that you still have with you, grateful beyond words to have them, scared to death you might lose them, too. You don't even believe in the karking cause they're fighting for, not really. It's too much, too abstract. If you had to do it over again, if you could speak to the young lady, so idealistic, so ready to put your whole life upside down and sideways for love, would you? Part of you hopes so. The other part of you wonders ...
