Five days later?.

Coruscant hung in the space in front of the Jedi Defender, its battle-scarred surface not presenting the prettiest picture ever seen, but to Shi?ar and Ben it was well-worth it. Soon they could get out of the cramped ship.

The landing procedures took several hours, but finally Ben landed the ship in docking bay 3.

They were met by an aide to the current Chief of State and taken to a building where they were told they could stay until it was time for them to make their report.

//Guess what Master?// Shi?ar had immediately hooked herself up to the Coruscanti network and hacked into the Chief of State?s files.

//What?//

//We aren?t due to report for another seven hours. You want to go out to eat?//

//Sure. Where do you want to go?//

Shi?ar got into the current list of eateries on Coruscant. //How about the cantina where you held me up with a blaster? You know, for old times sake?//

Ben snickered. //Old times sake? You know, it was little over a month ago?//

Shi?ar paused, counting the days in her head. //I didn?t realize that. I can?t believe I fell in love with you so fast.//

Ben stared at her. //You are beautiful Padawan.//

She smiled at him. //You know what? I think I fell in love with you that first day, when you boarded our ship and told me to give up. I ran away to see if you would chase me.//

He walked over to her. //I did. And it was well worth it.//

Shi?ar stood and kissed him lightly on the cheek. //Shall we?//

Ben slipped her hand into his. //Let?s be off.//

Ben and Shi?ar walked slowly downward on Coruscant, Shi?ar leading the way confidently.

They stopped in front of a rather dark damp looking cantina, still holding hands.

Ben grimaced. //This cantina seems rather?. Dirty?. Are you sure you want to eat here?//

Shi?ar smiled at him. //It only looks that way on the outside to fool all the nasty politicians? it is very nice on the inside.. I know the owner rather well..//

Ben stared at her dubiously. //If you?re certain??//

Shi?ar nodded. //I am. Come on!//

They entered, immediately surrounded by penetrating gloom. //Nice, huh Padawan?//

//You have to go through the door in the back.//

Shi?ar tugged him towards the darkness in the back of the cantina, towards a strange looking humanoid.

//Shi?ar? Is it?. Green and blue striped? With red spots?//

Shi?ar snickered. //Yes. At least today. He likes startling people. Actually he?s from Harou. A village not far from mine.//

//He?//

//Don?t get jealous. He has a wife.//

//Whew!//

The humanoid stood in front of them. A grating voice filled Ben?s ears, and he had to fight not to flinch. ?What do you want strangers??

?Ti?ras. Ithni afka shul, Shi?ar.?

Ti?ras, for that apparently was his name, grinned at her. ?Shi?ar! Ithni afka shul, twi!?

They gripped each other?s forearms. ?Good to see you Ti?ras. We?re here for dinner and maybe a drink. Official business in a few hours.?

Ti?ras nodded. ?Ah. But what official business? Where are Eliada and Misma? Who is this man??

Shi?ar smiled. ?Eliada and Misma are on another run right now. We split, because I?m training to be a Jedi. This is my Jedi Master, Ben Skywalker.?

Ti?ras nodded, and nudged her. ?Handsome isn?t he? Haven?t you noticed? Might be good for you, eh??

Shi?ar ignored the question. ?The food?? She reminded him.

Ti?ras nodded. ?Follow me, follow me.?

He spouted something off in another language to a small woman behind a counter, who nodded and went through a door in the wall.

Ti?ras led them to a small table, overlooking an indoor garden.

?Shi?ar was right. It is nice inside.?

The woman emerged from what, apparently, was the kitchen, bearing a tray of somewhat familiar food.

//Harouian?//

Shi?ar nodded. ?May I introduce you to Ti?ras?s wife Mi?raim. They haven?t had any children yet, but are planning on having a very large family.?

Mi?raim smiled at Shi?ar. ?Not anymore. The first is on the way.?

Shi?ar hugged Mi?raim. ?How soon, do you know??

?Seven months. I?ll leave you two to eat. I?m sure you have a lot to talk about.? Throwing a wink at Ben, Mi?raim disappeared into the crowd of people.

Ben stared at Shi?ar. ?I don?t think you will ever stop surprising me, do know that??

Shi?ar grinned. ?I wouldn?t want to stop surprising you.?

Sorry it has taken me so long to update this... *studiously avoids looking at date on title bar*

And re-reading this, which by the way, I finished writing a long time ago, has made me realize that this story is very poorly written. However, because I can't stand leaving it unfinished, I will post the rest of the story as often as I can convince my mum to let me on... so what did you all think?

Ben and Shi?ar strolled leisurely upwards toward their quarters, basking in each other?s presence?s.

Shi?ar slowly stopped in place. //Do you feel that, Master?//

//Yes. Be on your guard.//

//I don?t think we?ll need to remain on our guards for long, Ben. They are coming.//

//If we have the element of surprise, it might be easier. Act as if we?re clueless. Enjoying each other?s company.//

Shi?ar smiled. //Oh, this should be an easy acting job.//

She reached up, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him passionately.

//Careful, Padawan. You might want me to be alert for the coming fight.//

Shi?ar pulled back slightly, laughing. //They?re closer now. Aiming?.. ready?//

//Ready.//

//NOW!//

Shi?ar spun around, as Ben did the same, her back now to his, their lightsabers in their hands, as the first blaster fire came at them.

Their attackers were surprised, but kept on with the attack.

Slowly, however, they fell, as blaster bolts were sent back to their senders.

All of the sudden, the fire stopped. Their attackers were running away.

//Should we chase them?//

//No. Let them report to their masters that we aren?t as helpless as we may seem.//

//But they?re bound to attack again. You know that.//

//We?ll just have to be on the alert. They?re to far away by now anyway.//

Shi?ar sighed. //Very well.//

The door to their apartment slid open, revealing the spacious quarters. Shi?ar took Ben?s hand and led him to the couch overlooking the streets of Coruscant.

//The view is much better than the one from space.//

Ben wasn?t looking outside. //I don?t know which I like better.//

Shi?ar turned to him, surprised. //Seriously? You prefer ore-mine scars to levels of lit up buildings?//

//No, padawan, I was talking about you.//

Shi?ar laughed. //Silly Master.//

//Do silly masters get kisses?//

//I don?t see why they shouldn?t.//

//Then I will happily be called a silly master.//

So saying, he leaned down and kissed her.

He was still kissing her when the door blew in, and four black-clad bounty hunters opened fire on them.

//Not fair!//

//Pay attention to the now, padawan.//

//I was! Then someone interrupted me?.//

Ben laughed. //Shall we get rid of these people then, so we can continue?//

//By all means. I bet I?ll take out my two before you take out yours!//

They ignited their lightsabers and advanced on their attackers.

Shi?ar flipped over the back of the couch and landed precisely in front of the first attacker.

//You may wish to leave now.//

//What do you mean by that padawan?//

//Oops. I?ve gotten to used to mind-speak. If we don?t start talking out loud, someday I?m going to forget how to talk entirely.//

//That would be bad.//

//Of course. Then you would never hear the sweet musical sound of my voice again.//

//And that would kill me.//

//Are you being sarcastic Master?//

//What would make you think that?//

//No id- look out!//

//Wha-//

Shi?ar jumped in the way of the vibroblade that was headed in a direct course for Ben?s skull, slicing it into small pieces.

?You?re welcome.?

He nodded to her, and blocked the blaster shot that had been aimed for her spinal cord. ?So are you.?

They smiled for a second, and Ben kissed her quickly, and then they were flipping in opposite directions and into the paths of two attackers.

Shi?ar brought the handle of her lightsaber down onto her attacker?s head. //Glad I made my lightsaber sturdy. I was thinking about fragile, but decided that wouldn?t be very practical.//

//Yea, me too. Although it is a pretty lightsaber. It looks delicate though.//

//Master? You may wish to pay more attention. To the attacker.//

//Right.//

Ben?s lightsaber blurred in the air, and landed on the blaster of his attacker, cutting it neatly in half.

//Master, are we just trying to disarm, or to kill?//

//Kill only if necessary padawan.//

//Of course Master.//

Their sabers moved in perfect synchronization, deflecting bolts back to the shooter, most often, shredding the blaster to pieces.

After maybe fifteen minutes of battle, the attackers turned and fled.

//Did you record that?//

//Of course Master.//

Shi?ar walked over to the terminal and played back the battle up to just seconds ago, when Shi?ar walked over to the terminal.

Ben nodded. ?Copy that to a disk. We?ll need the evidence, along with the rest of it.?

She nodded. ?Already done.?

Ben glanced at his chrono. ?If we hurry, we can make it to the audience chamber in time to present our case.?

Shi?ar nodded to him, and threw him the carry-case of their evidence. ?The copies are with Master Skywalker??

Ben smiled at her. ?Of course. But we need to find another name for you to call Dad. You are related in a sort of roundabout way you know.?

?Very roundabout.?

She smiled back at him, and they ran to catch the aircab they had hailed.
