I can take care of myself, although I also need to let Luke express his protectiveness; or, more precisely, accept it when it bursts out of a heart full of love for me. This sometimes, I must admit, is hard to fathom, that someone could love me so absolutely.

It astonishes me and humbles me.

He is sweet. I tease him by calling him naive. He's seen too much for that to be entirely true, but I would hope he would still hold to his genuine optimism and faith in the goodness of others.

After we had our little chat, we made our way home. I stepped into the shower.

I must confess to a penchant for singing in the shower.

Luke likes to hear it, but I warned him sternly not to share this with anyone else.

I join him in our bed after, and his arm circles my waist.

That Mara welcomes my touch still astounds me. She is so incredibly beautiful, snarky, and passionate. My heart soars at the sight of her, my hands delight in the feel of her. So when that scranky nerf herder touched her, of course, I seethed.

I promised Mara I would not give in to such negative emotions again, and I want to keep that promise, as all the others I have made to her.

Her respect and love are the most important things to me, and I would never do anything to violate her belief in me.

I trace little kisses along her throat and up to her lips. She sighs into my kiss, and she nestles nearer.

How utterly blessed I am to have her in my life.

Gaeriel and Callista were like wrong navcomp jumps in hyperspace, prompting the navcomp to say: You have veered off course. Recalibrate, please.

How grateful I am that I did.
