Full Series Clone X

Was Cid mentioned? I completely missed this.

 

Clone X said he had got the information about Phee from the ‘Trandoshan’, has to be Cid.

 

Yeah it’s Cid.

 

Oooooohhh, yes! Somehow, I forgot.
I wouldn't assume that she was harmed, though. She might have been bribed, or the information was extracted from her computer. I'm not saying she wasn't threatened, tortured and/or killed, though. She may have been - and I reckon we'll know soon.

 

Somehow, Cid didn't return. But she was vaguely referenced.

 

The empire are known to be the easy, trustworthy type to deal with, I’m sure she’s alive and well

 

They even got her a lollipop for her troubles

 

I've denied the possibility of CX being Tech. Sadly, I think it's a given. As death has proven not a permanent condition in the GFFA, and the prominence of Clone X it only makes sense for him to be Tech. Dead is bad enough, dead and brainwashed is too sad to consider.

 

If it is Tech...

Metaphorically dead, magically healed, brainwashed, magically redeemed? That would be a tragedy - not in a good way, just poor use of characters.

Actually dead, resurrected, brainwashed, dead again? The Empire really do expect good soldiers to follow orders to the extreme. (But resurrection is now possible in the timeline...)

Personally, I prefer this clone being an unknown clone and there is no metaphorical/literal rebirth of Tech. (Otherwise it is yet another sad character-resurrection. And I really hope the storytellers don't keep replicating this).

 

Knowing that the next episode will have almost all the trailer footage left and it’s gonna be a Hunter wrecker crosshair episode. I don’t see how there’s enough time to bring tech back unless the plan is bring him back don’t redeem him have omega or crosshair kill him.

 

If it is Tech, they'll kill him. Also, I'll be disappointed that I read this theory here since I won't be surprised. I wouldn't have seen it coming if I hadn't.

As long as we don't know, we don't know.

 

I still think that if the X trooper is anyone, it is Cody.

After all, it was mentioned that Crosshair couldn't be converted to an X because of his mutations, and he was more vulnerable to the control chip than the rest of the team, so it likely wouldn't work on tech either.

Furthermore, this clone isn't showing any of tech's knowledge or skills - no memory of Pabu, heavy use of sniper rifle and knife rather than computer skills, different voice even accounting for the modulator so on and etc. Oh, and he only seems to have beef with Crosshair rather than the other batchers.

Cody, meanwhile, got an episode all about him and crosshair before mysteriously disappearing and never turned up in Rex's camp like we would expect of a deserter. As a regular clone the brainwashing process should work, and his last appearance emphasized his knife skills like this guy uses. Now, I don't remember Cody using a sniper, but he at least observed it a lot in his episode with crosshair.

 

Good points.

 

Since CX-2 is quite resourceful, wonder if he is going to survive the apparent battle on Tantiss, although with being heavily wounded and ultimately turned into cyborg. With the final fight in this series being him versus older Omega in epilogue.

 

Schrodinger’s cid

 

I had thought that our mystery clone was going to be Cody. I thought there was foreshadowing in "The Solitary Clone" for it to make the most sense narratively. It also made sense as a last straw for Rex. Now I think this jerk is Tech and I hate it. The idea is terrible and as much as I like the show I don't have faith they can brilliantly execute a bad idea like TWC could. In this last episode, Omega pulling out the goggles to leave behind meant something. More damning were Clone X's mannerisms and the way he talked. He uses a lot of big words. Also maybe hacking Phee's ship. I hope I am wrong.

 

I hope you are too as it would be a downer of sorts as the crew would have to take him out or try to convert him back. This is very possible although I've been saying it's a Crosshair clone.

I'll say 100% NOT Cody. Why? Well go back and watch The Solitary Clone episode and see how they put Cody in another battle he didn't want to fight. He's done fighting and the very end shows this when he told Crosshair the difference between them and droids is they have to live with regret.

 

I am now convinced that clone x is just generic

 

Cody and Tech is not Clone x. Tech is dead and Cody is saved for later storytelling outside the Clone Rebellion more likely tied to Kenobi.

 

Since the series' penultimate episode is probably going to reveal some secrets, my final bet is that CX-2 is a mutated superclone made by Hemlock, that used infromation about the BB. He is also immune to brainwashing and acts on his free will, that is why he is occasionally snarky towards doctor.

 

I was really hoping they’d wrap a clone rebellion into this season so we could finally move on from clones and cloning and into more interesting political territory.

 

Without cloning, how do we get more Zillo Beasts?

 

Like i said in future telivision thread. I think they will save Clone Rebellion for its own tv show. The Bad Batch is just about this team that saves Omega and all of the clones, maybe Rex help in finale. I think Filoni's not yet ready to leave the clones behind. Rex not yet suffered any real defeat yet and Wollfe still with The Empire that i doubt see him on Tantiss.

 

Yeah, I get it. I just don't want a whole TV show for a clone rebellion because I'm tired of clones and cloning stuff, and want to see some more interesting stuff in animation. But to each their own.

 

I hope they make two different shows one about clones again and one about surviving Jedi and creating The Path. I dont think we get any animation outside Dark times.
