To go back to gands in other colours then brown so do we see, in Agent of the Empire: Hard Targets issue 2, a gand among the Bloodskull pirates who is dressed in green-grey clothes.

Of some reason I find the gunslinger looking too much like a wild west gunslinger for my liking but I don't have that problem with Cad Bane. I don't know why.

    Most likely because he's Duros.

I lack a scanner, sadly, or I would have done it.
    Can somebody else do it?

    Merci beaucoup, Barriss_Coffee! @};-

Yes, quite an interesting outfit in quite an interesting color. It looks almost as though he (or she) is wearing a leather welding apron kind of thing. And the necklace of what looks like teeth is quite intriguing—or is that just the neckline of the outfit? Hard to say.

And for some reason I find the Rodian's white fur collar or hood interesting too. Apparently a coat suitable for cold weather—but it's apparently warm enough in this scene that the lady in orange doesn't mind having a good deal of skin exposed...

So this image was posted in one of the threads in "SW Saga In-Depth" (it's big, so I put it in a spoiler tag):

And I couldn't help but think, "I wish I had a big puffy, crinkly brown skirt like the one Asajj has." :D

I think we all know the real explanation, but just for fun:

Rodia is tropical. So the Rodian would have a lower cold tolerance than a human. Same goes for Ithorians, and Nikto are from a desert planet. Although by the same token, you would expect the Whiphid not to wear much since Toola is a snow planet, and J'Quille and Valarian went basically naked on Tatooine since it was way hotter than they were meant for.

...Are you all saying that making fashion statements at the expense of physical discomfort is something only humans do?

Don't normally post here but was curious if anyone has gotten a chance to look at the Star Wars: Costumes Original Trilogy by Brandon Alinger.

Yeah it looks great, the price tag is a bit much but I was hoping to borrow it from my library. Sadly it'll take a while to become available by me. I was hoping if somebody has scans, I was hoping to see Luke's jedi outfit.

It confirms that Obi-Wan's robes weren't intended to be Jedi robes and says that Lucas was thrown off by the Peculiar Hat Crew.

I received my copy in the mail earlier today. The book contains high quality photos, and informative details about each of the costumes. I do wish that some of the costumes had more coverage, but I wasn't disappointed with the purchase. Definitely worth a look.

So out of curiosity, what exactly is the difference between that book and that Dressing a Galaxy book by Trisha Biggar? (I own neither of them, so this is one of those "ask a question and you're a fool for five minutes..." questions. :p )

Dressing a Galaxy has a heavy focus on the costumes from the prequel trilogy. Star Wars Costumes: The Original Trilogy exclusively focuses on the costumes from the original three films.

Now THAT is a Shakespearean win. =D=[face_laugh] "Impressive...most impressive."

I presume it was actually done for or in the vein of the recent Shakespeare SW books?

I just found the source. This is the work of a French photographer called Sacha Goldberg. He created a whole series of characters in 16th century costumes under the title Super Flemish, you can see it here. Most are SW characters, but there's also some interesting non-SW ones. I was going to say that the Flemish Jawa is my favourite, but it's a difficult choice.
