Is it just me, or is the hardest thing in this game the fist fight contests? I suck so bad at them.

I still actually hate the whole first person aspect in all honesty and the fist fight issues are a part of that.

I hope that after they patch the game as required that they do a reverse GTA and give a third person view option, I want to see the character I created and the world he/she/they are moving around in

I didn't start doing the fist fight missions until after I'd gotten Kareznikoff cyberware, so if I dodge with my guard up it goes into Matrix-style time dilation for two seconds. This makes parrying/dodging a lot easier.

Combat is slow enough in this game that third person could work pretty well. Some of the environments are pretty tight though, so it would be janky. But seeing your V would be worth it. It would take a lot of work to "re-shoot" all the conversations with Witcher/Mass Effect style angles, but the result could be spectacular. If CDPR doesn't do it themselves, someone will probably mod it eventually.

How do you find it in other games? I ask as action games that mix fist and weapon melee tend to be good at the latter and bad at the former. I don't know why, but in both Witcher 3 and Valhalla I can slice up numerous enemies but none of it carries over to a fist fight sequence.

Personally I think using first person is the biggest let down of the playability of the game

This excludes all the bugs etc...

I'm not a fan of FPS and I struggled with HL/HL2/Portal etc... because of the first player element. Show me who I am please, my character is my avatar and I want to see what they're doing and from my perspective FPS is not immersive, it's annoying

Yeah, I'm winding up finishing all the side missions - just finished everything in the Badlands - but those fights are killing me. I upped my Body, bought Gorilla Arms, added a bleeding effect to my punches, and took a bunch of Street Brawler perks.
The worst part is that one of the hardest fights - against the Animals champion - is required to unlock the easiest path for one of the gig assignments... and if you go in guns blazing, you lose being able to do the fight.

Usually I’m good at it. I remember beating the crap out of everyone in the Witcher fist fights no sweat.

I’ll be interested to see if they’ll be any shocks this coming week. Maybe their stock will finally get a break. I just hope they fix the game enough to not crash constantly back when I played it

Why should we even care about their stock ? We are not some CDPR shareholders.

After clearing out most of the Watson side jobs I'm getting back into the main storyline. Been fooling around with photo mode a lot:

My tricks for fist fighting seem to have worked. Two more down, two more to go.
Also cleaned out all gigs and police subcon missions for all but two districts. Almost at the end game....

No. Your right unless someone of us are. But it shows the owners of the company they did something seriously wrong way more than people complaining about the game does.

Finished River Ward’s storyline last night. That was the most intense and disturbing part of the game yet, especially in the farm house.

Next I’m off to Pacifica for the first time to continue the main story.

Because it's the only thing that might get them to actually work to rectify the bugs.

    Finally finished the game.

While I didn't get the "secret ending", it really was the perfect Cyberpunk 2020 ending. Epic.

How many hours did it take you? I’m at 40 hours and just about to track down the Voodoo Brothers in Pacifica. I’m hoping I’ve still got plenty of content left.

    97 hours.

That's with doing every possible side mission, at least that I'm aware of (at least one surprise mission snuck up on me at the end), and finishing every gig and police scanner mission.

The main storyline can be rushed through, but the game will warn you when you reach the 'point of no return', so you don't have to worry about accidentally getting to the end without doing everything.

Edit window expired: finally looked up game stuff online to see what I missed, and I can say LOOK EVERYWHERE.

... but most importantly, I missed out on one important thing which is YOU CAN GET A PET CAT!!!

Kicking myself for missing that one.

Wait what, how? I pet one outside Viktor's shop, but that's it.

This takes me back to when I somehow missed out on getting a pet dog in MGSV...

I'll have to replay and scout about. From what I've seen, you need to make sure you acquire and don't eat "cat food" (which I've gotten many times), and it's apparently somewhere around your apartment?

Also, there's a nasty 'cheat' for the fist fights - if you drop a melee weapon in the arena before agreeing to the fight, after it begins you select 'equip' while looking at the weapon and you can use it to go to town on your opponent without causing a ruckus.
I'll be honest - with the right cybernetics and perks, you can easily beat everyone except the final guy.

That’s a lot of work for cat food. I saw some in River’s nephew’s house sitting on the desk in his bedroom. That’s a lot easier.

It's randomly found. I think those instructions are just for a guaranteed location for the food if for some reason you can't find any.
