"Hello, my friend" and it's addressed if that's necessary. I could see Rey having moved on from the youthfully exuberant ST persona, though, so there may not be a need to dwell on old stuff like Finn's attraction to her.

Let’s see what LFL has in mind for new Jedi. If they are not politically involved with government and are not as hard with kids and family I think that would be cool.

Showing married Jedi, when we know George was against it, and Filoni seems to be involved in everything now… Does not seem like the best idea to me.

 

I really hope they don’t go for something as shallow as… “Look the Jedi can marry now! That makes them better than the old stuffy Jedi!”

 

I think the most interesting approach is for Rey to do things differently, and the potential backlash of that (even if it also means fandom backlash).

 

Honestly, Daisy Ridley is the ONLY actor I thought did an exceptional job at her character through out the all three films, especially TFA. Granted the Sequels were (to me) just Okay films. But Daisy was the shining gem in all three. Glad to see her character and Daisy continue.

 

Curious to see if this will have an opening crawl and the traditional theme music. With it continuing Rey's story, it could be seen as a kind of "Episode X" (even if it isn't labeled as such), but who knows....

 

Happy for Daisy, would be even happier if John comes back and they do right by Finn.

Since it's a movie featuring Rey....maybe it leads into an Ep 10-12.

 

Let's start speculating: who's going to be the big bad? I think Disney will have learned that audiences don't necessarily want to see another Empire/First Order conflict. What about the Vong? We've seen that they're more than willing to pull from Legends novels (see: Thrawn).

If LFL wants to tie things up, why not something present in the part of the galaxy Thrawn is hiding?

 

Not to rehash the whole ST thing but I hope this film uses the chance to explain/reframe/retcon (whatever you wanna call it) some of the plot and character inconsistencies between the ST movies themselves and also how they relate to the rest of the saga. Even a few flashback scenes to add context to some of the story and character motivations would be a vast improvement, IMO.

I am perfectly happy with Rey coming back as I liked her character but I hope we see Luke and Finn again as well. I don't see Ben Solo making an appearance, but that's just my opinion.

I definitely won't be going into this one blind; the trailers and initial reviews will definitely determine whether or not I see it.

 

This is gonna be set 15 years after the ST, right? What if Finn and Rey ended up being together after TROS and had a child? That child could be the force-sensitive new teenage protagonist for the film. Just an idea.

And JB would definitely return if Disney pays him enough. I mean, they got Harrison Ford to return twice so anything's possible.

 

I hope they don't call it Episode X. Please not.

Start something new now. The Skywalker Saga (as this story of Skywalker vs Palpatine) should be closed for good. I could live with golden letters rolling at the beginning but I don't want them to extend the Saga officially.

 

Agreed. I don't think I feel as strongly about it as you do, but I do think this would be a good opportunity to start a new saga.

 

I personally think that framing the ST as part of the "Skywalker Saga" was a mistake and I don't think they would extend that concept into this new film.

I also see this movie and the Ahsoka movie as being heavily connected given that they will effectively "frame" the ST.

Agreed. This would be a HUGE selling point. Also, swerve this into some kind of Luke Skywalker pulls a Gandalf and returns in the flesh. It'd be glorious.
