Returning Maul to his former self would likely be appealing, but would Maul listen to the proposal before striking Sidious? I doubt he is all that concerned with the physical world and his body at this point - his only hunger is revenge. It's also possible that Talzin taught him how to become immortal by existing between the spirit and physical realm as she does. It would be interesting to see a Sith and Nightbrother master that ability. Had Sidious been capable, he would have survived Vader's wrath.

No Maul wouldn't work for Sidious again...that is done... but he should be out there...lurking....plotting...building an underworld empire. And occasionally taking a shot at the Empire.

Maul does what Maul does. Revenge with a capital R! That's what keeps him going.

Clones in fiction can be tricky, but was pulled off pretty well in Gargoyles, atleast with Thailog the other clones were meh. I'm not unconvinced the idea of a Clone Sidous is entirely out've the question or against the idea as some. I enjoyed Dark Empire myself overall. The Blackwing project is canon now, plus some of the stuff eluded to in Star Wars: Tarkin. The zillo beast being cloned, the stuff Sidious said in ROTS about searching for immortality I believe Sidious seeks it for sure and Sith alchemy and Imperial science are conducting various experiments, so lots of interesting possibilities.

Maulkiller(which was unstable also due to Maul's nature) was an interesting concept for a semi-believable return of Maul in the service of the Empire during the time of the Galactic Empire. Lucas also proposed for the Darth Maul video making it a clone of Maul or his son, so Lucas was open to the possibility at that time, before it was agreed to use the Visionaries approach for TCW. Would be cool if they have Maul destroy Sidious's plans on obtaining immortality, maybe even destroy Kamino or some similar science facility. Perhaps a Maullkiller like creation vs the original, as I could see Maul finding such a creature an affront to himself and an attempt of Sidious to steal his soul. He viewed Grievous with contempt and as a mechanical monstrosity in SOD.

But Maul needs his own movies and comic series.

I don't think Darth Maul could have a son, unless he was born before the events of TPM, for obvious reasons.

Yea, unless he cloned and grafted a new lower body for himself. One of the ideas for TFU was Maul was reincarnated and this was back in 2004/2005, another was much like that canceled Darth Maul game from Red Fly, an origins story with Maul hunting down Sidious's rivals and enemies.

Actually Maul have spent some years wholebodied at Coruscant, killing many people on the behest of Sidious.
That could have given him enough time and oportunities to get distracted in some amorous activities.

It is just depending upon the fantasy of SW-writers to make something out of this. And if they fail we still have fanfiction.com :D

In Lockdown, there was a mutual physical attraction between Maul and Komari Vosa.

Sure, there was.=(( But Maul kept his discipline and schedule set out for him by Sidious, while Vosa was free to follow her desires and instincts much more. I wonder if Maul have recognized her lightsabers worn by Ventress at Maul's and Savage's turtle-tanker at Raydonia where Maul and Ventress met first. Perhaps he might have thought at the first glance that Ventress may have killed Vosa.

As the Great Mother said, we will survive - we always have, so I am confident that the SW writers of future novels and other media will find a way to bring the Nightsisters and Nightbrothers back to us. The idea of children is good, imagine Ventress giving birth to twins and keeping them in hiding so they can rebuild Talzins coven, just as Luke and Leia may rebuild the Jedi Order after ROTJ.

I think Kenobi should just have a moment where he goes to some backwater planet in the middle of nowhere and finds Maul as a sheepherder and he's just like "meh, he's not a threat anymore". That would be a good ending. Not even joking.

Probably why Lando fled to Lothal, he lost his sheep farm to Maul in a game of Sabacc. Maul plots revenge by selling bad meat to the Empire and have them all die of hoof and mouth disease or anthrax.

I just think with the revelations in Son of Dathomir that Maul was essentially a good kid who was twisted by Sidious, they'd wanna do a path of redemption for him.

That would be interesting to see, but what element in the story would bring him back from the darkside? He's already lost everything. Unfortunately, I feel they're going to kill him off in another conflict, with redemption out of sight.

His mom died and now he just reverts to being an 8 year kid psychologically out of grief. Plus its implied that when Talzin dies the magicks wear off (Son of Dathomir: "Grievous reported her death on Dathomir" "Mauls continued existence disproves this"... or something like that)

No he does not "revert" sounds like you're repeating that chan4 stuff. Talzin pulled all the rot and ruin out've Maul's body and mind, she healed his damaged mind and made him sane again, least cleared his mind to where he left off at since TPM. She repaired his lower body with droid parts, but that was later all replaced by the Mandalorians after it was damaged. Maul can't be kept down and keeps on attacking no matter the loss, that was one of the main themes of SOD, "you can't keep a bad Sith down". He was ready to die twice in SOD, once was wanting his mother Talzin to absorb his lifeforce so she would be strong enough to destroy Sidious and Tyranus and again when he was ready to jump back into the maelstrom and take on Sidious, Grievous and Tyranus alone by himself to avenge his fallen Mother or die trying. He's not afraid to die, which is un-Sith like actually.

I agree, Maul didn't revert after Talzin was gone. Both Maul and Ventress still have spirit ichor flowing in their veins. That will only leave upon their death, as seen with Savage.

Ray Park did a recent interview, rather interesting..maybe there is no gag order anymore since Lucas departed but he claims he knew the stories for the next two prequels while filming TPM and seemed like he believed he was gonna be in the second part. Maybe wishful thinking or just Park being Park to promote himself and the character but its odd:

    http://www.total-geeks.com/darth-maul-discusses-star-wars-vii-lightsaber/

Guess he's also talking about Anakin using the two lightsabers(and there was a cut scene with Dooku using two lightsbers) in AOTC. Maybe Lucas was toying with the idea of using Maul again but created an all new cyborg in Grievous.

Ray Park was practising with two double-bladed lightsabers? I always thought, it takes a bessalisk like Pong Krell to do such. Unless he may split his arms like Grievous.
