Thanks, Otter. :) I shall. Hey, getting a chance to join up in one place or another will light the fire under me I need to tackle resculpting the [mumblemumble] vambraces again. Grrrrr. Most vexing part of the costume, and by rights shouldn't have been! It's a learning curve, right? Right!

I meant to post this here, and it looks like I totally forgot. DOH! Anyway, IF there is any interest, I have a series of in-progress photos of the armor sculpts etc. on my LiveJournal Portolio page. I'll include the link here in a moment. Anyway...eventually, I'll take the pictures and the captions (if you click on a photo, it will take you to a larger version, plus notes--the thumbnails show only the photo "title" but not the notes), and turn them into a full tutorial. For right now, however, in the off chance anybody is doing a similar project, it might prove useful.

    Or not...

I was (and am) a complete newbie myself at these things, which could either make the notes and photos more useful, or less useful, depending on how you look at them. I definitely tried to document my "problem spots" as well as successes, so that hopefully others can learn from them. Hey, that's what costuming is all about, in my book--not just producing the costume for yourself, but documenting what you did so others can join in the fun!

I SHOULD have some good photos from a photoshoot last weekend up soon - I hope. I'm dependent on the photographer posting them, and he has been extremely busy recently. Anyway, if I do get them and they look good, I'll post a link.

(Note...oldest pictures appear first, most recent last, and there are several pages of thumbnails, going through the whole creation process...!)

    Awesome work! :)

The descriptions in your lj album are very detailed (and amusing). Thanks for taking the time to share how you made it :)

Thank you for looking! :) By the way, peeked at your costuming site, and while it's off the SW topic--EXCELLENT Eowyn! From one LOTR costumer to another - thumbs up!!!! Beautiful!

Ok, back to Revan. Or at least Star Wars. ;)

    (But, wow! Really good!)

Awww, thanks :) Your Frodo costumes are pretty freaking cool too :) (I thought you looked familiar and now I can put the pieces together!) I get surprised by how many other lotr fans are working on star wars costumes now. lol It's like it's a natural progression.

So, do you have any plans for something else now that this is done?

Well met! :) Well, I was a Star Wars fan long before I was a LOTR fan (although my costuming days only began 3 years ago in any genre), so getting a chance to do Star Wars costuming is just wonderful. :) Have we been at events together, and I'm just spacing on them? If so, I apologize!

Plans for something new? BWAH HA HA! Um. No, not right yet. Actually, I still have to redo the vambraces on this costume before I can really call it done. I did a dismal job on them and it shows. But I am still running around saying I'm not really a costumer, so...no new projects unless something really bites me hard and insists. ;)

    What about you?

Well, it's not likely we've ever crossed paths in person. I live in Australia. lol But I've been involved with LotR Costume for a very long time. I kind of miss seeing new pics to obsess over :( but there is always something new out there, even if it's not lotr.

You've been bitten well and truly by the bug... it's just a matter of time till you find something else ;)

Me? Well, we have the Australian Costumers' Ball coming up in late August, so I'm working on a surprise for that. I can say that it is from star wars though.

Ok, I said I'd post a few more "polished" photos when I got ahold of them. These were from a photoshoot by two very talented photographers. I'm gonna link their websites because they just have loads of talent and do a lot of costuming-related photography:

    http://www.imagecraft.com/photostudio/
    http://www.wyldfires.com/

Anyway, these are two photos from them. Obviously I played in Photoshop a bit, putting in saber glow, background, etc. But the costume is real! I just wanted a background that wasn't a paint-daubed sheet! :)

As usual, the thumbnails on the boards squish photos strangely. Click on the link to get to a correctly proportioned, full-size edition!

Awsome, Kai! That first pic almost doesn't look real, but I know it is.

I really hope you make it to Comic-Con, I really want to see your costume in person!

I'll be there, but just as a humble Jedi or Rebel Fleet Trooper.

    Hi, Loreen!

Thanks muchly! And yes, I have caved-in and decided I had to go to Comic-Con. I'll figure out the money situation somehow...but I couldn't not go when so many friends and cool folks were going to be there. :)

So...see you in San Diego! :) I wanna see the Rebel Fleet Trooper costume. :)

Yeah, I've been reading your posts on the Santa Cruz boards.

You're going to be seeing a whole lot of Rebel Fleet Troopers there! We will have the largest group ever assembled from one particular group. GO REBEL LEGION SUNRIDER BASE!!

THAT is deeply cool. I can tell I'll be glad that I'm bringing my camera and a big card! :) Is there a particular day you'll be really attempting to all assemble together for pics?

Yes, on Saturday, that is our big debut. We will be helping the 501st with the Droid Hunt Game.

Oh, and congrats on your 501st acceptance. I believe the Membership Officer has spoken!

    Looks like he has, indeed!

Great...I'll be sure to have the camera ready for Saturday, then. :) Which reminds me, I must check in on the RL Boards...I've been remiss!
