Well read the issue then. ;) But some tidbits-
Exegol goodies. More fun with the Summa-verminoth. Pryde continues to be an entertaining little weasel.

And yes, this week was issue 46.

    Thanks.

If - or when - the Vader Omnibus hits, I might take a look at it.

I haven't read the latest issue yet, but have enjoyed this volume and seeing the Handmaidens. It really connects it to the Queen Trilogy.

I've picked this up because TROS tie-in's I live for...

Exegol is really going to be wrecked at this stage.

    chuckles

I love how Sidious and Vader aren't even pretending not to be fighting over Luke at this stage.

    The Rule of Two, babies.

It's funny, but for all the talk about how there should only ever be two, many of the Sith Master-Apprentice relationships we've seen, including Bane himself, involve the introduction of a third party (Dooku, Ventress, Anakin, etc.); I'm guessing that's what the titular 'Acolyte' in the show will be as well: an aspiring Sith apprentice, either to replace the current apprentice or aid in their ascension to mastery

The moment a third party appears it does destabilize the entire thing, so it follows. Palpatine is rapidly being transformed into someone who didn't care for the Rule of Two save to defend his power, content to have pretenders and shadow apprentices all over. He and Tyranus collaborating before TPM, for example.

Well, I think it would be pretty dumb for the sith to care about loyalty to their apprentices when their whole relationship is a murder game. Would make sense to keep your options open.

Would've been better if Luke had more time to talk with Sly Moore, including her telling him more about the Rule of Two.

Looks like Sly Moore’s days are numbered. She’s playing a dangerous game by trying to kill Luke and, of course, we all know how it will eventually ends. As for Sabe, it was about time that she met Luke and tell him about his mother. Hopefully, we’ll see more in the last issue of the series.

Sly Moore’s Schism was just a ruse just so Palpatine can say to Vader, “see, you are too much of a ***** to be a true Sith Lord, you’re just my apprentice forever! Fabarian defects to the rebels, Sly and everyone else survive presumably to serve the Final Order.

Kitster and Walt survive, steal a couple energy capsules from Vader, and pawn them off and use the earnings to free the other kids from The Phantom Menace. So Anakin’s dream of freeing the slaves technically came true.

Sabe also survives, meets Leia, and shows her a hypothetical future of teaming up with Vader to transform the empire into something positive. I sort of wonder if all these “hypothetical future” teases from last year or so are a setup for new Infinities/Star Wars What If? series. Or maybe these were written when the multiverse was going to factor into the WBW scenes in Ahsoka.

Overall, I liked this series, I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but after the first couple story arcs I waited to binge everything recently. Has some interesting ideas, bites off maybe more than it can chew, but also gave us Power Staff and Energy Shield Vader fighting an army of Cthulhu’s, which is pretty dumb but I can’t complain about it either.

    I have to say
that I’m sorely disappointed in the issue. It’s an absolute travesty and cop-out that no-one dies in this issue. It’s Vader and there’s the word “Wars” in the title, people are supposed to die left, right and centre

Imagine the action figures we could have gotten out of this series. Multiple variations of Powered-Up Vader, the M.A.R. Corps, Sabe, Sith Eternal Cultists, and on and on.

    In any event,
in terms of Vader's arc he is finally where he needed to be at the start of ROTJ - thoroughly beaten by and subservient to the Emperor. This is the experience that drives him to say "I must obey my master" after openly courting the possibility of overthrowing him in ESB. It took a lot of wild stuff to get here but I have to say I've enjoyed the ride.

My brain operates in another dimension and I am just picturing a grainy 80’s VHS tape of Darth Vader shooting his energy staff at droids while what sounds like the theme from Nightrider plays

    Also,

It’s kind of funny how they called back to the 2015 run line “all I see is fear and dead men” like it’s an iconic Vader line now. Palpatine saw the viral posts the guy you knew from high school shared on Facebook

Missed some sort of epilogue for Jul Tambor and Amedda here, but one for Anakin's friends was very heartwarming, this storyline is one of rare redeeming points in this run for me.

Hope that in The Battle of Jakku there will be Sabé and Ochi's immediate reaction on news regarding Vader's death, they both will probably mourn him, although Ochi - in his own way.

OK so... can someone explain to me wtf just happened?

Vader drained the power of Tauntaza's fortress, thinking it gave him the powerup he needed to defeat the Emperor.

The Emperor was seemingly in his throne room on Coruscant as Vader clashed with his forces, sensing it across the galaxy... but then he's standing in front of Vader on Caranthanax B? How?

Then they clash and Vader eventually disintegrates the Emperor... but doesn't? What happened?

And what exactly did the Emperor do to make Vader submit so abruptly?

I'm pretty sure most of that was Palpatine using a variation of the Force Projection ability Luke used in TLJ. Palpatine probably never left his throne room.

    Well, to make Vader “submit”:

It wasn’t really a show of force or fear of the Emperor, but in my opinion what happened was due to the fact that Vader isn’t a true Sith at heart and once he tapped into powers that nearly made him a god (which is what Sith strive for), it just disturbed and shook him. Now he’s just a broken man who made his bed and living with all of his bad choices and has no ambition to follow the rule of two anymore

    Hold on...
How the hell does Sabe avoid being quickly told to get ****ed by Leia, when she is proposing teaming up with Vader?

Some other Imperials? Snowball chance in hell, but a chance. Vader? Nah.

Leia pretty much does tell her to get ****ed haha.

There's a whole lot of talk about Padme and how Leia's father worked alongside her to fight tyranny. Leia assumes she's talking about Bail, but Sabe is thinking of Anakin and Padme the whole time.

She obviously couldn't tell Leia that Vader is her father, but I don't know why she wouldn't just come out and tell her that Padme Amidala is her birth mom. Leia knows she was adopted.

Indeed, I am disappointed that Mas Amedda didn’t featured in the epilogue. He should have been in the scene where the Schism Imperial landed on Coruscant at Ochi’s place, mocking Sly Moore for her coming execution, only to be surprised that all of this was part of the Emperor’s plan.

I hope we’ll also see Sly Moore in the Battle of Jakku comics and her reaction of Vader’s death.
