my kids dont see the appeal of the OT .. ( ATOC is thier fav, & they love jar jar!!) they are 12 & 13, and after seeing EP, I II III, i finally showed them IV V VI, and they felt they were lacking in effects, not enough planets, the visual stuff,etc... they also said the stories were very simple and not "complicated" like the PT. they actually thought "a new hope" was boring compared to the rest!!

they ask to watch ep I & II many times, went to see ep III 5 times, and have not asked to see the OT again ( yet) of course they have grown up in a different time,

So yes, ep III is the best film of them of them all, it made ep I & II much better to watch again, and i have always liked the OT ... part III gives it a whole new perspective, knowing who is really behimd the mask, and his thoughts.

Believe it or not, the PT really kindled my love for Star Wars. As a small kid, my cousins had the Star Wars movies, and we would watch them. That was that. Star Wars was normal to me. It was something everybody knew. It wasn't awesome or special back then. It was just something that was pretty cool. Even TPM, I really didn't care a lot about. But a month after it's release, my dad took my brother and I to see it and I thought it was great! My enjoyment built up between then and AOTC, and after I saw that, I was in awe. It was my new favourite movie! Now, after AOTC, I really liked Star Wars. I got really into it and learned all this amazing stuff! My friends are still hard pressed to find a Star Wars question that I don't know the answer to. Although I'm sure some of you here could probably come up with some.:) Well, that's my story. Don't bash the PT. We're all better off for it.

No one is bashing the PT, I for one and more a bit apologetic for not trusting in Georges genius in the first place

I have always had a warm place in my heart for STAR WARS. I saw ANH in '77 at the drive-in with my folks (i was 8) then TESB/ROTJ on HBO - loved them all. Then it was over.

Then in '97 the OT Special Editions came out - made me like them all over again. Then in '99, TPM came out, beginning a new trilogy - excitement was in the air! TPM was great, saw it 4 times at the theatre...even if it felt a bit weak and somehow a bit empty. AOTC came out in '02 and I really liked it...saw it twice...but immediately waited for 3 years in anticipation for the last movie, ROTS.

ROTS came out, and I was TOTALLY blown away. TOTALLY. It put the whole series in a whole new perspective, and I now love STAR WARS more than I ever have in my life! So much, that even *I* have now ventured into the EU (extended universe) and picked up a book (cloak of depection, to learn about the deal with how TPM started out, why the trade federation, treaty for naboo, etc.).

ROTS even made me break my box office visit record for a single movie - I paid *5* times now to go see ROTS. And I'm proud to contribute to STAR WARS on the big screen!

I'm interested now in seeing the CLONE WARS cartoons on DVD, maybe a comic or novel. And will take things from there. I'll probably be visiting the EU in the post-ROTJ era. I'm interested in the possible Lucas projects for the TV series and possible pre-PT (knights of the old republic) and post-ROTJ films. Whatever Lucas throws out for us, I'll take the bait! ;-)

SW is spectacular storytelling & visualization!

    Never stopped loving it.
The fanbase however, I do, and will most likely continue to have, issues with.

Best post ever! That should be immortalized. Thanks for the laugh.

And yes, I feel the same way.
