1. Who were the only two Masters to have faced multiple Doctors onscreen and which Doctors did they face?
2. Who was the first Time Lord antagonist that the Doctor faced?
3. In Utopia, Derek Jacobi's character was revealed to be the Master. What other story did he play the Master in?
4. In Vincent and the Doctor, Bill Nighy had an uncredited role as Dr. Black. What Disney movie villain did he play?
5. In Village of the Angels, Kevin McNally played Professor Jericho. What was the first Doctor Who story he guest starred in?

 

1) One was Anthony Ainley in "The Five Doctors", facing the First, Second & Third Doctors. Not sure of the other one.
2) The so-far-as-I-know unnamed Meddling Monk in "The Time Meddler".
3) ?
4) I think it was in a "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie, but I'm not sure.
5) "The Twin Dilemma"

3. Does “That bomb-ass War Master series from Big Finish” count?

I have to say the big spoilery gimmick for the next series has worked on me brilliantly, as I’m actually revisiting the show after years away (and maybe I’ll even try to power my way through the Moffat era. … Ugh.). I had forgotten what effective TV the first reboot series was, although “Dalek” is maybe too good for its own good, if that makes any sense.

 

It was so good that they should've just dropped the Daleks from the show right there, not revisited them until "Day of the Doctor", and then shelved them again. It never got better than that.

 

Anthony Ainley's Master also faced the Fourth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors.

Fourth (Logopolis), Sixth (Trial of a Timelord serial), and Seventh (Survival).

 

You know, purely on the back of “Logopolis” I think Ainley’s version might be the most successful in terms of permanent track record. “Lol I stole your companion’s dad’s face and I killed a huge swath of the universe and I basically killed you lololol.” - The Master, probably.

 

I've been rereading this thread and couldn't help but chuckling at the 2014 year posts where people didn't think John Simm would return as the Master.

Too bad I can't go back in time and post Spoilers.

So, who do you think is the most evil/nastiest/cruelest/most insane version of the Master: the Saxon or Spy Master?

 

I've only saw that version in the Deadly Assassin. Is that version just as bad right before he becomes the Tremas Master?

 

I mean you said “nastiest” and just imagine how that guy smells. No contest.
