Drax, you're late for the party.

Even if GL isn't able to write Chewbacca in a prominent role in Ep3, there may be enough hints or cameo or easter egg to tie in ep4. Or perhaps Peter would be playing Chewie's father/uncle/cousin/brother when the family comes under attack and become slaves. Don't forget the time difference between the episodes. GL may raise the wookiee sightings more with with each episode, too, as there were wookiee senator(s) in TPM whe Queen Amidala presented her plea for help. There will be wookiee senators in ep2 when Senator Amidala is debating the issue of raising an army in the senate hearings. Of course, in ep3 when all chaos breaks loose, and the senators from the galaxies are under attack by the armies in the clone wars, this is where the wookiees, in resisting the attacks, may become overwhelmed and taken as prisoners of war.

    comments, please.

So I'm assumming that Mr. Mayhew's site will allow him to answer all of our questions in a more sane manner. Meaning that we submit questions to him and he answers them at his own pace, unlike the superhuman posting skills needed to answer all the questions on this thread as they are asked. An ingenious plan to keep him around, as well as quite a coup for TFN.

    Howdy Peter,

Your probably asleep unlike a college student such as myself, but welcome.

I saw a presentation in my home town of Plano that you gave at our convention their, so you already answered most of my questions.

I look forward to speculating with you on the future of this wonderful story.

    Good luck getting connected.

I've just told MOT about this thread and he started making wookiee noises over the phone!!!

He says to say hello, Mr Mayhew, as he's off work today or he would be here himself.

    Nice to see you.

    Hey way cool.
I don't have any questions, just alot of admiration for Chewie and all his gruntwork throughout the original trilogy.

    Again way cool.

I don't think Chewbacca and Obi-Wan had met before, you can see Obi-Wan talk to another pilot before Chewie who then indicates that Chewie and Han might be a better choice.

The radio play says this even more clearly.

This should not preclude having Chewie in the prequels though, just in an Easter Egg style moment being enslaved, refusing the handcuffs, killing stormtroopers and showing why the wookiee should win.

I have always thought that one of the greatest problems with the EU was that Chewie was always relegated to a secondary role. There was never a novel which let him cut loose and show why he is the "mighty Chewbacca". Only in the Daley Han Solo trilogy do we really get a dangerous and heroic Chewbacca outside of the movies.

You have a chance to have a word in Peter Mayhew's ear and you want to argue about relationships in the radio play?

How about asking something insightful, like "What was Alec Guinness, given his now infamous hatred of the series, like to work with?"

    Oz,
I was trying not to fanboy out and squeal questions at Peter. Other people have been speculating that Obi-Wan and Chewie knew each other, thus having Chewie appear in the prequels, I just didn't agree.

Go away for one day and this.............awesome stuff!. Great to see some input from one of the people who actually took part in the experience. I live 5 mins drive from Elstree studios (and shop at the supermarket they built over part of it) and the character that always springs to my mind everytime I pull in is Chewie, the top-dog wookie who looked so imposing stood next to everybody else. I remember being a kid and buying the seperate cards they sold that made up a full picture of the interior of the Millenium Falcon once you got the set, and chewie's face was on the the first portion of the card and the one I've still got!.

Peter, if you're still reading, that bit where you refuse the binders and growl at Luke scared the bejesus out of me as a 5 year-old and still reminds me never to arm-wrestle a wookie today.

    Peter Mayhew is here.....

Great...there goes the board. I can see it now.

Peter starts a thread discussing collecting on the Episode II board.

Admins: We need to shut this thread down
    Peter: GRRRRRRROWWWWL
Han: Let him have it, it's not wise to upset a Wookie.
Admins: But no one worries about upsetting an Admin.
Han: That's because Admins don't pull people's arms out of their sockets when their posts are shut down. Wookie are known to do that.

Hello and good morning...first, I would like to explain why I wasn't back on yesterday as I expected. I took the time that I had allotted to spend on the computer just reading all of the posts. I must say, this is quite an experience for me, getting to bask in the appreciation of so many. But, by the time I finished reading yesterday, my time was up. Ok, so I'll write some now.
First, to catch people up to speed who don't know. I married a lady from Texas and moved to the DFW area about a year and a half ago. We were in England preparing to move when I received a phone call from Steven Sansweet (about this time last year) informing me that Chewie would be killed off in Vector Prime. Steven is a great guy and was very nice to tell me that the story takes place about 25 years AFTER "Jedi" and does not affect the movie stories.
