"Well, I can certainly manipulate objects from a distance," Nifesta told her, "and, I can naturally generate power balls; like super-heated plasma to blast a hole in the floor for said hole. But, and this is only a suggestion, you understand, I think we should floor it, which entails you guys popping upstairs while I cut round the edges of the floor with my lightsabre, and we drop the whole level on him? I can ride it down on the cushion of air like a hoverboard."

He waited to hear what guano objection she might have to the idea. She seemed to have that you can't do this, you can't do that attitude, like when she'd told him about the fusion reactor in... His gaze shot off to the side, silently going through his short term memory with a fine tooth-comb. Super-strong, superspeed, the ability to forget the most salient facts-

"Alright, scratch that," he urged self-consciously. "how do you plan to open the floor without blinding everyone?"

"Alright, scratch that, how do you plan to open the floor without blinding everyone?"

"Well, if you're capable of usin' a tool without direct contact, the easiest solution would be t' simply manipulate one of the energy blades and carve open a hole above his little project. That way, any missiles he sends back up won't scatter us over the ceilin'. Right now he's tryin' t' grant mobility t' his little project, but at this stage, even if he tries t' move out of the way he'll just find his toy crumblin' on its unfinished limbs. These things take time t' set, he can't just use it fresh out of the shop.

As t' illumination, the simplest course of action would be t' have everyone else look the other way. Since it's an energy weapon, you shouldn't have too much problem monitorin' your progress, even without any form of night vision."

"You are the healer, then?"

"Apologies are offered, it seems a formal introduction was never made. This one is a Jedi Knight called Hipparra, and has been trained to specialize in biology and medicine."

The healer's hair was swiftly bound up behind her as the patient was approached, and the Jedi's second set of arms were revealed as medical gloves were quickly donned. A medical kit was produced from beneath her robes, and a diagnosis was begun (a combination of both technology and the healer's unique perception).

"We did what we could...I don't know as much about this sort of thing."

For a few moments, nothing was said, and then a response was given.

"There is no fault to be found in your actions... her life was not endangered, only aided."

Now the wounds would be dressed with ways both medicinal and of the Force.

As the work was performed, a question was asked of the woman.

"Your pardon is asked for... but for what reasons were your actions at the headquarters facility prompted?"

?

Nifesta nodded, flexing his right forearm to drop his lightsabre hilt into his waiting cupped palm. He had been referring to something else, but her answer handled both questions. ?Fire in the hole,? he warned the group, ?or whatever it is for eyes.?
He shut his own and thumbed on the weapon?s activator, the white blade blurring brightly in a figure eight as he waved it through an Ouroboros flourish, content in the way it felt like an extension of his arm.

He could feel the relative positions of the rest of the team and the droids through the Force, and made sure none were in danger from his actions.
At last he could do something useful as the woman, Markus and Major Boothroyd carried on their work on the droids.

?Okay, Agent Damaya, if you can identify where I can start cutting, I?ll get started. And toss me one of those EMP bombs, so I don?t need to distract you any more.?

"Fire in the hole," Nifesta had said.

Intent on reworking the droids wiring, Boothroyd didn't catch the whole conversation that was taking place. "What?" he asked as he turned to look.

Just as Nifesta ignited the lightsaber, Europa shut her eyes. Boothroyd wasn't quite so lucky.

"Ahh..." he said when his eyes began to hurt. All he saw was a big, bright, white blur. He pulled off the night-vision goggles and rubbed his eyes.

?Ahh...?

Mitch recognised the quartermaster?s pained voice, and cringed in apology. ?Sorry.?

?You're holdin' a glowin' light source. Just take off your goggles and look.? Damaya advised. If she felt any sympathy for Boothroyd?s plight, she kept quiet about it.

Nifesta nodded, pushing the technologically advanced eye-wear up over his forehead before opening his eyes. He looked towards her, adjusting where he held the lighsabre blade, so that the glow from it didn?t obscure his vision.

?Okay, I gotcha.? The Twi?lek stepped towards her and plunged the brilliant energy blade into the flooring, a ring of molten gold and orange molten slag forming up around the cutting edge.
He felt the floor material?s integrity weakening, and when it felt just right, he applied tension to start dragging the weapon along in a line, the first side in whatever shape he ended up going for ? triangle, square, whatever.

Following Nifesta, Europa also pulled off her goggles. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness, and the glowing lightsaber, she watched him carve a shape in the floor.

Boothroyd, on the other hand, was still rubbing his eyes. He tried to focus even though he was in a bit of pain. Hearing the familiar sound of a lightsaber, he turned back around to see the twi'lek and Damaya.

OOC: Well I'm not going to start shooting at the ceiling. I need a hole to actually have lasers go through. XANA is holding his fire until there are actually targets to attack.

This translates into the following IC post...

IC: XANA
Location: Bottom Floor

XANA noticed that the MI-5 agents had begun cutting through his ceiling. This seemed to be quite a favorite trick of theirs. Rude little brats, couldn't they just use the front door like everyone else? XANA ordered his forces to pull away from the hole and aim all their weapons up at it. When the floor dropped, it would be like unleashing a hornets nest of angry blaster bolts.

OOC: Which is the reason why Mitch is supposed to use telekinesis to manipulate his saber into cutting a hole in the floor, and then bowl the powerful EMP bomb into the hole (or move it with TK), thus taking out the people who have gathered around to shoot up into the hole, and their little dogs too. Anyone who wants to shoot through the hole will be within range of the bomb (which will be dropped right on top of silly immobile weapons platform, along with a good chunk of the ceiling), and anyone who's standing on the fringe will find that the hole provides any agents standing near it with incredibly good cover, probably on par with that of an arrow slot. About the best solution would be to fire a rocket and hope for splash damage, but then again no one is standing around the hole to begin with if Mitch is doing this correctly. Then he's free to jump in and cut/blast to his heart's content while we figure out how to get the disposable labor down a floor (or we can just have them gather around the hole and shoot at whatever they see below them... the larger the hole Mitch cuts, the wider their field of fire).

And that still leaves us with one other powerful EMP bomb.

Well, Mitch has only cut the first side, so can adjust if I'm doing this wrong?
At the moment, he's only cutting a small triangle to drop the EMP bomb in. Offline convos with LW reminded me that the floor is still holding up the SCRAMed reactor, so I discarded the major cutting exercise I was going to do.

Perhaps Damaya can clarify with Mitch just what she wants him to do? Or LW can OOC.

OOC: Why is it that everyone around here only thinks in terms of binary extremes? Dropping the entire building on him is dangerous, slow, and stupid. That doesn't necessarily mean that you can't drop a one to three meter diameter segment of the floor on top of him, which will probably leave a dent. But if you cut a small hole, then you're pretty much not going to have much of a problem with things being shot through it one way or another, short of sending an explosive directly through the hole. Which is what we're planning to do, drop the EMP right on top of the weapons thingie and its friend. He could do the same and fire a rocket right up the hole to explode against the ceiling, which is why Damaya is making a point of standing some place that isn't near the hole. It's also why she mentioned manipulating objects via a distance...

Shasta looked to the two alien men. "Why is everyone still running around? Don't they know we need to get back to HQ? I mean, the mission is a success, right?"

"We have Noah, Clowe, and Puss-Feller all in custody," Pandolfo added. "I think it is pretty much over."

Gruu then said, "We-sa still haven't gotten a response to our-sa reply to da distress signal from Kiffu."

"There was a distress signal from Kiffu?" Shasta asked.

"Yes. We-sa should head down there to check it out."

Pandolfo watched the agents and MI5 allies running around yelling orders at each other. Then, turning to Gruu and Shasta, "What if the three of us go to check it out. Who knows how long this will last up here."

"That's not a bad idea," Shasta commented.

Gruu hesitated.

"It's your call. You're the all-mighty Jedi master," she added.

And deal with Vongerella and his band of Merry Mutants, or marvel at whatever the heck he left down there.

Meanwhile, Nar Shadda hinges upon how fast it takes for XANA to realize he's beaten and roll over.

As to Casino Royale, I have no real intention of starting it until maybe the second week in October, as I have midterms to take care of before then and I don't feel like dividing my attention.

The Twi'lek shrugged and continued cutting, drawing the lightsabre blade a foot along the floor, then cutting two more sides of an eventual triangle, keeping it small to minimise the blaster shots coming up from below.

After all, according to the woman agent, the honours consisted of dropping ordnance that she could fit in the palm of her hand; no need for anything bigger.

He was sure she would tell him if she needed a bigger hole.

He extinguished the blade and stood back, letting the golden triangle of slag succumb to the weight of the unharmed ferrocrete at its centre. It was already starting to dip down and extrude into the compartment below.

When it fell free, he could lean over and drop in the EMP.

This is the situation: Dr. Noah's hired guns, the pirates led by Raq Eindall, took control of the Kiffu palace while the Mi6 are in the Ark. They locked the Sheyf and her guards somewhere in the palace, maybe in some underground prison, a dungeon perhaps or an isolated room. However Qiik was there disguised as a Kiffar Guard, looking for the "weapon", and murdered Raq and six of his men. Raq has more men, but they fled after seeing how quickly six of their colleaugues was killed by this person. Qiik, after obtaining the information he needs from Raq, also fled the palace.

My original plan with this was to continue it in the next series as a form of subplot, but LW told me that this game will be adopting a new style and I cannot just integrate my subplot in the next game. So I have to throw away everything I have planned for the next series and decided that the conclusion of this subplot will just become a part of this series' EU. Although I have plans of using Qiik in the future games.

After a few moments, he decided to expedite the situation a bit, but without exposing himself or the junior agents to any more enemy fire.

Kneeling on one knee, he thumbed on the EMP bomb in his left hand, listening to its whine increase in intensity as it grew in power, if not in size. As it started to vibrate in his hand, as if overcome with excitement, he put his other hand, palm down, above the cut triangle in the floor, applying just enough Force tug to pull the three-sided plug back up towards himself.

ssssssshhhhhhhhllllllooooooopppppp!!!!!

The triangle came free, he rolled the EMP in, and slammed the plug back down!

It wasn't a snug fit, but he quickly slid the ferrocrete along the inch along the floor it had to go to get it back, onme finger coming too close to the cooling edge.

"Oww, ouch!" He promptly stuck the singed digit into his mouth, and looked towards Damaya, waiting for her through-the-floor vision to update them as to the success of the manouvre.
