ST Episode 8 Plot Leaked (SPOILERS) or FanFic Masterpiece....you decide...

Even if fan fiction, I like how dark it is. But Leia's story is really depressing.

 

She's the leader of the big military force left to oppose The FO. Heck Han being dead is actually a reason to EXPAND her role if anything.

And like I said before, I don't like the idea of Finn foolishly leading them to Rey and Luke. I loved him in TFA, but there needs to be a sense of character progression. Also like I said before, there's a much more interesting/logical way to accomplish that already built in.

 

I think passing the torch is great. I also hope that they should leave the central story of Episodes 1-6 alone. Anakin Skywalker's character experienced perfect closure. If they retcon that story with twisted force ghosts, or tainted skywalker bloodlines, etc. I believe it would be a huge mistake. That will completely destroy 1-6 as we know them, and detract from Anakin/Vader being the true tragic hero that made the saga so great.

I am pro Anakin force ghost showing up briefly as a purely light-side character. That said, his story was closed in the best way possible in ROTJ IMO. I would hate to see them do something that now changes that story.

I've said this before, but if Rey turns out to be Luke's daughter, then you got this interesting possibility:

-The PT is about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker, and the Birth of Darth Vader.
-The OT is about the fall of Vader and the redemption of Anakin.
-The ST is about defining his legacy. What will define him, the evil of Vader, or the decent man that was Anakin who tragically fell but was able to come back to the light in the end? Two of his grandchildren, from different branches of the family, but both trained by Luke, battling over his legacy. Some potentially good stuff there.

 

I could definitely get on board with her being a Kenobi-Skywalker hybrid. What's most important for me though is being part of Anakin's bloodline. I actually really like having the main characters from all the films being related. It doesn't bother me in the slightest.

 

I dunno....way too many details leaked for it to be speculation or guesswork, IMO. I think they had a mole...

 

Although.....If she ends up being non-Skywalker blood, isn't it poetic that she - a Kenobi -- battles Ren - a Skywalker -- in the end? Kinda comes full circle, but with a different outcome this time, perhaps?

So ignoring the fact that R2D2 is with Rey meaning that the map is with Rey not Finn, so he'd be unable to find her in the first place. Also ignoring the fact that he's not even a pilot so he wouldn't be able to go to her. Are we expected to believe that Finn had a chip installed in him the entire time they were looking for BB8 and nobody even bothered to use it?

Rey was being watched by Tekka? Then why would he leave her in the hands of a mercenary like Unkar that seems like a pretty dumb thing to do. Also nothing on Rey actually using the dark side of the force to defeat Ren?

It could be, true. But I like the idea of the two sides of Anakin's bloodline (Luke's child and Leia's child) embodying the light and darkness that was within him. Combine that with Snoke being Plagueis and the reason the Force created Anakin and you have a really powerful story where Anakin's descendants have to exorcise the darkness within the Skywalker clan and themselves before confronting the very reason for their Force power. That to me is the ideal ST storyline.

Isn't Billy Dee Williams having some major health problems right now, though?

 

1. You can't make copies of a map?

2. Finn got off the planet with Poe, why couldnt he hitch another ride?

3. Details lacking about how they would locate anyone. My guess is that bounty hunters are used...

4. Unkar makes perfect sense. He watched over her? No. He was able to provide her with food for work, material needs met. Lor watched over her, from afar. I think that much is true no matter what the new storylines are revealed to be.

5. Rey may not have that struggle until episode 9, though. That would be the most logical place for that kind of a reveal/struggle to occur, IMO.

 

Not particularly. He's just old. Like the rest of the OT cast.

Every fan fiction been thrown together into one piece.

 

This man has an imagination and a lot of time on his hands. He made one fatal error, though: it is too detailed.

 

1. Why would they do that?
2. Those are soldiers on the base following Leia's orders so that would make no sense.
3. Still doesn't make sense that they wouldn't use bounty hunters to locate bb8 if that was the case.
4. Unkar sold her out the first chance he got. He's pretty much the last person you'd leave someone with to protect.
5.Seems to me that the struggle would be throughout the series, but I'll buy it.

 

This has to be fake. It spends far too much time in the past. While backstory is going to be important, there has to be more to there being an actual story for this movie than a bunch of Jedi/Sith flashbacks and being told what the plot was before TFA.

 

Just so no one thinks I am clinically insane, I accidentally clicked on "leak" on the poll because I wasn't paying much attention.

 

I chose fiction before I 'read' it. Yeah, could have saved myself the few lines I choked through.

 

What's hilarious is how the person tried to make it seem so legitimate by being so detailed about certain things, but a lot of the "details" make it obvious that it's fake.

 

So... Poe and Finn do basically nothing in this? Not buying it.

 

I actually like this guy's interpretation of Snoke/Plagueis. In TFA he really comes off as a Palpatine ripoff and this focuses on how he's different.

I don't think it's real though, and I don't particularly want it to be.
