    Name: Seron Antius Madine
    Age:
    36
    Species: Human

    Appearance:

Equipment: Everything he needs or wants
Personal Ship: he commands the "Song of War", the custom made Flagship of the Third Republic

    The Force: No
    Rank: Admiral

Bio: It is a short walk down the corridors of politics and military establishment to come from military prodigy to "the teenage Admiral". He walked this corridor at an incredible speed.

Truth was he was always good at these things, had the right heritage and nobody truly cared. He got promoted bacically every twelve months. When he commanded his own ship he was send to the Minos Mestra Federation to assist against the "Reborn", a new wave of imperial oppression he purged from the system in a series of hard fought battles. Well. Let us say that was the official version of this. A few pilots stumbled over an old fleet weapons stack of the ancient Empire and thought they would rule the galaxy. They even had an Imperial Star Destroyer, but despite being a 100 years outdated it especially was manned by an inexperienced crew. Madine identified it's disadvantages early on. He jumped in system and fired every ion cannon they had. In 0ABY the ion shielding was not very advanced yet, so the anyway partially damaged ISD lost power pretty quickly. Madine ordered retreat right away.

When the TIE fighters were boarded by the pilots his fleet was gone. He set up a perimeter intercepting two transports leaving the Pirate base for the next few hours and waited. 8 hours and the TIEs ran out of fuel. 24 hours and emergency energy of the ISD ran low. 48 hours and life support of 80% failed. 72 hours and only emergency areas remained powered. After 80 hours he returned and found only debris. For some reason, probably internal struggle, they had activated self-destruction.

Probably to avoid starving to death or slowly suffocating, his First Officer replied.

Madine was both praised and criticized for the operation, while the press created an elaborate legend about it on behalf of the Chancellor. Public opinion saw him as a hero.

When confronted about the cruelty of his strategy Madine reacted with irritation. Had they not ordered him to try and keep losses to a minimum? He had engaged an enemy, destroyed a 100% of his forces and that without loosing one single Republic soldier.

That fight the eye of Admiral Tachos, who took him under his wings to ask this young and clearly brilliant mind to take over the reformation program. An attempt to modernize the Republic Navy to accommodate the coming budget cuts and loss of value in a time of a 100 Year Harmony.

Tachos soon passed away and to Madine's surprise his name was brought up. With some not so subtle bribery of calling in a lot of favors she made sure he was actually chosen over a dozen more established military leaders who would all now be under his command.

It did not matter, everybody thought. There was not really anything an Admiral had to do.

And then everything changed on the day of his appointment. He was appointed for the entirety of two hours, when the Free Systems attacked the Republic and eradicated a third of their battle fleet over Corsin.

    Tanee Bolyn
Streets of Corsin, South of the Spaceport

Tanee grunted as the red blade of the Legionnaire crushed into Tanee‘s staff and she was forced to her knees. The force held the staff together, but the burning blade stretched her abilities to the breaking point. She could not force him off as she had hoped, and her kick did little to persuade the man to go away. And after Janis yelled out, he had sent her flying yet again. She had to use the Force to stop herself from being smashed against another object. The man moved to strike at Janis, and before Tanee could react, another Darksider, this one a female stepped out and killed the attacker from behind. Then she moved towards Janis.

"If you want to stay alive, come with me." She said and offered him her hand to get up.

Tanee straightened up, and began to move towards Janis. Thankfully, Janis wanted no part of the woman. He ignored her and instead grabbed the lightsaber of the dead warrior, jumping to his feet.

"You are one of them!“ He shouted. He looked at the cold metal cylinder in his hand and fumbled to find the ignition button. "Tanee, are you alright?" He shouted at her. Tanee calmly answered him. "I'm fine Janis." she stated softly, slowly walking up to him. He was an excited person with a lightsaber in his hands.

Janis continued to speak towards the female Darksider. "You cannot bring me back to my father. I will die before I join your kind." He spitted at the woman and slowly circled her, finally finding the ignition button and flinched as the red blade hissed into existence. Stepping back towards Tanee his eyes stayed on the woman.

"We need to move." Tanee stated gently. The darkwoman was not having it however. "Listen boy, she cannot save you. No Jedi can. They will all be dead very soon. You have met your father, have you? Have you felt how powerful he has become? We need to go and we need to go RIGHT NOW!“

Again, the mention of Canos being Janis father. What in the world had happened? No wonder he seemed so keen on getting his hands on him. From the raw energy, he might be able to be the only one to stop Canos. Tanee laid a hand on Janis shoulder.

"She is right about one thing. We do need to go. Right now. He wants you because you are probably the only one who could stop him. And think about it. I found you. The others will too if we keep standing out here. But I think I know where we can go, where they wont be able to find you so easily."

Tanee knew the Jedi temple was being attacked directly. But near it, the energy from the temple might be strong enough to hide Janis strong Force signature. And Saleen would be able to find her deep within the city.

Tanee then looked towards the female Darksider. "He has given you his answer. You did save his life. So you may follow if you wish. But we are leaving now." Tanee turned to Janis. "Let's go." she told him."

    Species: Wookiee
    Appearance:

    Equipment:
Ancient bowcaster, bandoleer, a personal droid of some repute by the name of BB-8.
    Personal Ship:
    Millennium Falcon
    The Force: No
    Rank: Smuggler

    Bio: Well.

We all know the stories of the Clone Wars, of the Galactic Empire, of the defeat of the Sith, of Rey Skywalker and Kylo Ren and Darth Sidious. This Wookiee lived them. In the prime of his life, with a good century left to live, Chewbacca returned to his smuggling career after the war was long over. The Wookiee periodically returns to Kashyyyk to attend his family, but over the long years of working besides Lando, Han, Luke, Leia, Finn, Poe and Rey, Chewbacca acquired responsibilities all over the galaxy and kept to it, not caring for politics or creed as to who he assisted, and of course offering the services of the Millennium Falcon out to the Jedi as and when, until that personal tie faded with successive Jedi Councils.

But now, he wanders the galaxy, allowing fate to direct him to where he is needed.

    Kilara Vasetti
    Alley of Fate, Corsin

Kilara sighed. The Jedi had heart and a fighting spirit. She had to give them that. This little blind girl was not able to defend him though. She considered slicing her down right there and then, but that would probably not be so great for gaining the boys trust. He was clearly fond of her.

"Where do you want to go? Do you know their landing zones? Do you know their strategy and tactics? Five minutes ago the Master ordered him to be hunted, which means in another ten minutes maximum before there will be two dozen of those guys and a few far worse on your tail. How do you want to protect him? Hm? I know where we they are, how they will organize the hunt and what are their weaknesses. I am your best chance to escape the planet and that is the only save place we can go. As far away from all of this as possible." She took the lightsaber from her belt and offered it to the blind girl as a gesture of good will. "I am your best chance." She looked at the boy when she said this. It seemed to be his decision now.

    Battleground Corsin

Sera knew she would not take down and army and a Dark Jedi all by herself. She came up from the cover behind the terminal and fired several shots into the direction of the landing zone to make those guys keep their heads down, then she ran towards the two Stormtroopers in the alley, firing her rifle relentlessly.

When it was empty she switched to her blaster pistol, now saving ammo and diving into the alley. She had to get her pick up. „Dammit, Romar to Nightflyer, please tell me you guys made it!“ She yelled into her comm-link and started to run into the alleys.

    Janis Callisto
    The Street

Janis sighed and looked at Tanee. The woman was right of course. Obviously she was not going to take him back to Canos and equally obviously she was not trying to kill him. So maybe they could admit she was no imminent danger, which would mean . . . she was better prepared to lead them out of this as Tanee or he were. She was not wrong to say he had no idea where to run to. His last attempt had almost made him collide with a bunch of soldiers.

„Okay, where should we go?“ Janis finally asked and still kept his hands around this lightsaber he had picked up. He had no idea how to use it, but at least he had something to defend himself with.

Janis sighed and looked at Tanee. Tanee was sure she knew what that meant. She listened to the Darksider as she spoke. "Where do you want to go? Do you know their landing zones? Do you know their strategy and tactics? Five minutes ago the Master ordered him to be hunted, which means in another ten minutes maximum before there will be two dozen of those guys and a few far worse on your tail. I am your best chance to escape the planet and that is the only save place we can go. As far away from all of this as possible." She took the lightsaber from her belt and offered it to Tanee as a gesture of goodwill. She looked at Janis, and then took the lightsaber offered. The woman then looked at Janis. "I am your best chance." Bakaru! Tanee hated to admist it, but at the moment the female darksider did have the best plan. Tanee didnt have a ship. And with her ribs hurting, she did not really want to tangle with the other Darksiders. The woman was right of course.

"Okay, where should we go?" Janis finally asked and still kept his hands around this lightsaber he had picked up. Tanee checked the lightsaber offered. Some lightsabers worked differently than other. And she had heard some were bobby trapped. She wanted to make sure it worked before battle, so she flicked it on for a moment, before shutting it off. Tanee looked at the woman. "If this was like the last attack on Elyseum, there is an armada up there. But I agree with your immediate statement. We need to get away from here at least for now."

Tanee looked over at Janis. "I will stay with you." she simply stated, and then looked over at the Darksider. "Let's go, then." Tanee could argue the other half of the plan later. Right now, they needed to leave. She had to hope that Saleen would be able to find them.

    Orbit of Corsin

The Battle was now truly raging, as the Republic finally pushed back on both fronts. Their larger ships were still too powerful for any single of the Empress Star Destroyers and yet the Armada of Tion had not yet unleashed even a quarter of their ships. Their bulky carriers positioned themselves outside the command group and spitted out fighters constantly, as if they had unlimited amounts of them.

Confident the battle was already won, many of the fighters descended into the atmosphere.

    Corsin Ground

    Corsin, Jedi Academy, Platform VII

Taruun dragged himself into the ship and pressed the button for the ramp to close. He looked at the Reaper who stared at him through the mask as the ramp went up until it divided the two.

"You gotta get us out of here." Taruun said. "Put us on direct course to Haruun Kal." He sighed and collapsed into a chair right in the lounge. Closing his eyes he summoned the force to enter a healing trance, leaving the young Akeem in charge of the ship.

Above half the orbit was alight with the fires of a space battle, but the other half was free and would allow them to escape. Most shuttles lifting off took the same direction. It would now only be minutes before the attackers had enough fighters in orbit to close these routes, too.

Jedi Academy, Jedi Academy, Platform VI

As Soa Sten took of in her fighter she saw Master Tayon Vay leap to the other platform and attack all three dark warriors. The Reaper took a silent farewell to the escaping heir of Haruun Kal and then turned and ignited his golden blade entering the fight. The doors opened meanwhile and more of the warriors appeared. Vay wound slay many of them, but eventually fall. That was inevitable.

    Spaceport, Corsin, City

The explosion filled the room and the whole building began to tremble. Two quick shots of Kahn ended the last remaining soldier, then they were clear and outside the battle was now raging. Explosions ripped through the buildings around and dust and flying debris filled the air.

Tie Fighters of unknown design passed by above them. „56% of all ships cleared.“ The report came through the comm. That meant over half the spaceports ships had taken off. A couple of thousands had been evacuated and still millions remained now the mercy of the enemy, who was clearly not loosing the battle.

As they passed another alley Lorn who had taken lead signaled to stop. Right in front of them was a group soldiers of Tion in their black uniforms, setting up mortar artillery. It were at least fifty, with a large droid hulking over them.

Hawk cowered next to his commander. „They are aiming those at the civil quarters.“ He said surprised. There was no tactical value in this. It would simply kill a lot of civilians.

Streets of Corsin, South of the Spaceport

Kilara, Tanee and Janis had probably finally agreed who was leading and who would follow, when Kilara would feel they were surrounded. From the north a group of Tionese soldiers approached now with their black armor, lead by a Legionnaire. The more worrying was coming from the south, as between the building appeared the silver armored Reaper who had been tasked to take down any Jedi in the downtown area.

His troops now switching from guns to vibrio blades and energy pikes, as they would otherwise risk shooting themselves, the Silver Reaper stepped forward, looked at Janis and then at Kilara.

„Traitor.“ He hissed and ignited his two red blades.

Matthias arrived finally at the scene and saw the troops fill the alleys. He was right in their back, but the only way to get to the boy or the Padawan was through the soldiers.

Sera was a bit more lucky, or less, if you considered it actually. She had killed the two troopers and made it to the alley next to the three Force Users when from all sides suddenly troops had appeared. So far sehr had not been spotted behind a large pipe, but she seemed to have ended up in the midst of a battle. Well, maybe more of an execution.

Above Corsin, the Space Battle and the Eternal Justice

The Star Destroyer that had taken down the Eternal Justice survived only a little longer than it‘s prey. The torpedoes send waves of explosions through the ship, as they hit the energy couplings and finally the reactor. In a bright flash of light the ship exploded and the shockwave it send out was also the killing blow to the Eternal Justice, as the cruise broke apart as another explosion was just one too much.

„Oh dammit.“ Vlo remarked, trying to get control over the nimble, fast X-Wing Mark V he was flying.

„Red Squadron, Red Leader to unknown fighters. As you seem not have any signature, we adopt you as Red 7 and 11. We lost those two. Meet us at 4.4.6 and join the squadron. Leader Green has command.“

Vanlu Teslisi had finally made it to his cockpit, but the triumph was short lived, as he suddenly heard the sound pilots hated more than anything. The beeping sound of an enemy target system locking in on you. „We got three on our back!“ Vlo yelled and in panic pulled his fighter to the left to dive under one of the „Defender“-Class Destroyers to their left. One of the TIEs followed him, while the other two stayed on Van.

Not too far away Sid Antilles saw his work and another three squadrons now joined their starfighter centric offensive. A second Empress-Class exploded and above the KENOBI, a massive Behemoth-Class carrier, almost two thousand meters long, turned towards the enemy to spearhead a push back by the Republic.

Then the sensors began beeping. „Green Leader, above.“ Green 2 gasped and the sun was almost was blocked out as 120 TIE-X, divided into ten squadrons descended upon the Republic fleet.

A better picture of our new Admiral

The young Admiral had received congratulations by almost everyone on the party, when the assassination attempt had disturbed the festivities. The Chancellor had actually done a terrific job calming everybody and preserving whatever value this meeting had for him, when Commodore Geron appeared. The man had been with Admiral Madine since his first command and served as his security and communication officer in the 1st fleet.

„Admiral, we must transfer you immediately on your flagship.“ He said without great ceremony. Deon of Kuat smiled from the side. The man had recovered remarkably well for someone an assassin had just tried to kill.

„What is so urgent you drag him out of such an important meeting, Commodore?“ The Senator laughed.

„We have a Code Black, Senator. The Free Systems have declared war on the Third Republic and the 2nd Fleet over Corsin is under attack.“ He said with a voice that he forced to be calm. The whole party went silent. Not a word was spoken. Then their comm-units began beeping as everybody received the same news.

    The Republic was at war.
„It doesn’t look good, Sir.“ The Commodore whispered to the Admiral with raised brows.

    Trian

    Desert

The Mandalorian looked at Valerius and seemed to with his options. Then he made a command to his wrist computer and looked at Valerius.

„Well, if ou cannot help me then I guess I have little use for you and your friend, here, do I?“ He turned his blaster and by the Gods he was quick. Quicker maybe than any living thing Valerius had ever seen. He never could pull the trigger though, as he was ripped of his feet by a shot. The shot from the hills ten minutes away seemed impossible, but that probably would assume that was a human sniper. For a droid it had been an unusual complex calculation.

Redmon sighed and quickly jumped up.

„Whoooa!“ He shouted and put his arms up. „That was . . . tight.“ He laughed out loud and looked at Valerius. Then he raised his arms. „But before you came, well . . . I think I got bad news for you man. Really bad news.“ Redmon sighed. „You might need another ride.“ He gave him a sheepish smirk. Valerius maybe remembered what he had once been told about Mandalorian Standard tactics. When hunting, first cut off all means of escape. Like ... a ship.

    Lozzlo‘s Inn, near Sauca Vai

There were few reasons to come to Trian and considering how hot and dry it was here even less for a Wookiee. The one reason barely anyone knew about was Mowon the Hutt. Six hundred years old, he was one of the very few living creatures older than Chewbacca. When Mowon claimed he had repaired starships in the Old Republic, he had actually every right to it.

So Chewbacca had been left with little choice. He had been to Corellia, Nar Shadaa and Raxis to look for what he needed. The Millenium Falcon was ancient, being build in the days of the first Empire it had seen many battles and the fall of two Empires. The last one was even a hundred years ago. While some parts had been modernized, like the hyperdrive and shields, some parts simply could not be removed and needed repairs and replacement parts. The latter were increasingly hard to come by. So Chewbacca had come for the services of a 550 year old repair shop to look for a CNV-VI power-converter.

„Do shuda, wadda! Na passa da Wookiee!“ Mowon greeted Chewie as he entered the bar, the small BB8 happily rolling in behind him. That meant nobody was to give the Wookiee any trouble.

The tavern was full with people who might have considered doing so. Since the mysterious sect had taken over Seuca Va, the only city on the planet, Mowon had entertained the tavern for waiting customers. „Checked your request, hairy one. Actually we got a coupling.“ Said the young overeager mechanic who had been sitting at the window and now jumped of it and walked over to the Wookiee. Mowon nodded satisfied. „Gimme a couple of hours and your old rusty lovebird flies like it was made yesterday.“ Liara smiled. „Is it true that thing was around when they blew up the Dead Star?“ She asked and grinned broadly. People began to forget names, even those of the Death Star.

    Jerec Egola
    Chandrila, Office of Mado Sar

Mado Sar was not amused as he read the report. That much was clear. He put the database down and the small sized Lannik sighed.

„I sometimes wish they had chosen a less hot-headed agent as the Red Hand. Explosions, dead assassins raining from the sky and a destroyed Y-Wing D.“ He shook his head. „And after all of this you came up with nothing but a dead assassin? You are meant to be a precise tool, not a blunt instrument, Egola.“

Jerec Egola straightened himself and had to smirk. „My sharpshooter rifle was not allowed at the reception, Sir.“

„You find that funny, do you? The Third Republic is at war. The God of the Void might help us, because I think nobody even knows how to fight one.“ Sar sighed. „But one of my best agents wants to follow a lead of an assassin. Have you even considered going to the front and use your talents for something that makes sense?“

„With all due respect, Sir.“ Jerec cleared his throat. „I do not care about assassins, but the timing was remarkable. The assassination happened exactly the same time the attack on Corsin began. Deon of Kuat is the most likely next Chancellor and he has good connections to the military complex, being from Kuat and all that.“ He said.

„You think someone wants to destabilize the Republic?“ Sar had the same thought already, obviously.

„Not someone, but an ally of the Empress of Tion working from within the Republic.“ Jerec said and nodded.

„Do you have a lead?“ Sar asked.

„I got his weapon.“ He said and Sar laughed.

„Paper thin and people do not use paper anymore because it is so thin.“ Sar remarked.

„I succeeded with less, Sir.“ Jerec said firmly.

„Okay, I will send the Black Hand to Tion. You got two days to come up with something substantial.“ He sighed. „Proceed, dammit.“

    Jerec smiled. „Thank you, Sir.“

    ________________

Quan was in his laboratory, as always. They were testing a magnetic plasma grenade on a desperate droid as Jerec entered. The thing attached itself and the ancient B1 one droid tried to get it off and then exploded.

„Quite a bang.“ Jerec said. „Not exactly subtle.“ He remarked and looked at the Biss quartermaster.

    https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.ne...iHealer.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120218124006

„Neither are you I heard.“ The Bith said and turned to the next cell of the lab, where a Gamorrean was walking around like a robot with a device in his neck.

„Do you have something for me?“ Jerec asked. Quan nodded.

„Good advise. Retire before they send you to war.“ He said and Jerec gave him an acid smile.

„Very funny. The sword?“ He asked. Quan nodded. He lead the way into one of the smaller rooms, entirely white like the rest of the lab. In it‘s midst the blade of the assassin was floating.

„A shortsword and an interesting one. The steel is what got my attention. Rare and polluted in very unique ways. It was forged on Haruun Kal.“ The Bith said and the sword turned. Haruun Kal, a planet in the neutral systems that had expansive ambitions. Jerec had not cared to visit it ever. Something that was probably about to change.

„Our database identified it as a Vontar, the short blade carried by the guards of the royal family.“ The Bith kept explaining.

„A royal guard? Explains his training in security. What can you tell me about the planet?“ Jerec asked, eyeing the blade.

„The indegenious species is entirely force sensitive and have darker skin. They are descendants of a crashed Jedi transport it is believed. They were almost exterminated by the Empire, but have now reunited under a royal house, that is leading a rather aggressive foreign policy. There are no more than half-a-million Kornnai in existence. I downloaded everything to your ship computer.“ Jerec nodded. „Anything else you need, Red Hand?“

„I thought you never ask.“ Jerec said. „I will have to go there. I need the usual gadgets, a class four disruption field and a Code Alderaan.“ He said.

„A code Alderaan? That could be a little complicated in the war.“ Quan remarked.

„Oh, I am sure we got some connections.“ Jerec smiled at him and Quan only sighed.

„I assume the overseer shall not know about it.“ Quan said.

„My Bith.“ Jerec smiled. Then he turned serious. „Also get a replacement in place and see if Taruyan is available. I need back-up this time.“

Quan eyed him. „So bad?“ The Bith asked.

„Just a security measure. You never know. I got the feeling this is not just an assassination. This might be a second front.“ Jerec said. „Haruun Kal could not have done this alone.“

The Bith nodded. „I will do what I can.“

    Jerec smiled. „Sure of that.“

    Soa Sten
The Jedi Academy and orbit of Corsin

Soa knew perfectly well she was abandoning Master Vay and even more. She had not known him especially well, but that did not matter. In this moment where he leaped over there to the platform and faced the enemy, he became a symbol to her. A metaphor for what happened here today. The Jedi on Corsin would die, all of them would die. How many of the Jedi were here? Ten percent? Fifteen percent of the entire order? The enemy would wipe them out and they would die fighting. Fighting for what? Fighting for the order of course. Fighting to give all of them another day to fight, another chance to stop this.

She wanted to stay here, actually. She wanted to grab her lightsaber and kill as many of these monsters and protect as many of the innocents as possible, until she was slain doing it. But the force had chosen her for another path. As the Jedi did face the enemy, it was her who would run and follow the path the forces had given her.

Soa Sten had to find out who those attackers were. She had also to find out what Akeem‘nun‘Bestat and his family had to do with it. As she lifted her fighter from the platform she saw how the enemy warriors let them pass and leave. Why? Why would they do that? Soa felt this all began to make sense. It was all beginning to show a certain picture and the picture it painted now had to be confirmed.

She pulled the ship up and accelerated it to maximum speed. She had no weaponary whatsoever in a training fighter, but the ships were sleek and nimble and she would try to make it out of this battle as quickly as she could. She did not care to follow Akeem actually. She knew where he was going and she would simply go there, too.

„Enter a course to Haruun Kal, fastest course.“ She ordered the droidcore of the fighter and then she accelerated to maximum speed.

    IC: Valerius Vector
Location: Sea of Sorrow, then spaceport Trian

The Mandalorian did something to something on his wrist and then stared at Valerius and he could feel the stare coming from underneath that T shaped visor.

„Well, if you cannot help me then I guess I have little use for you and your friend, here, do I?“and Valerius wondered if he was about to be blasted to bits. If there was one thing about Mandalorians it was you never messed with them, because they were the hardest hard cases in the galaxy. And maybe mouthing off at a Mando was probably not a good idea. But if you had to be tough with these hunters, to show no fear.

The blaster came up rapidly and Valerius was about to have an image of Tara popping up in his head and maybe his life flashing in front of his eyes….but the shot never came. The Mandalorian went flying as a shot came flying in and hitting him before he could shoot. And Valerius blew out a breath, someone had saved him but it was a once in a million shot. One to hit a Mandalorian so he could not get back up again, and two the shot seemed to come from far away. With the wind whipping around as well as the sand it must have been hell to keep this one in the targeting reticle.

Well whoever it is, thank you very much.

Redmon popped up looking like he wanted to celebrate „Whoooa!“ He shouted and put his arms up. „That was . . . tight.“ He laughed out loud and looked at Valerius. Then he raised his arms. „But before you came, well . . . I think I got bad news for you man. Really bad news.“ Redmon sighed. „You might need another ride.“ and then a sheepish smirk appeared, and Valerius narrowed his eyes at the man. This was not funny.

Valerius walked forward and picked up the Mandalorians blaster as he would not be needing it anymore, Valerius was essentially confiscating it from him and he didn't know what had happened to his blaster so he essentially needed a weapon alongside his baton.

“The next words out of your mouth had better not be he’s blown up my ship” Valerius growled. But also with Mandalorians they tended to either sabotage or blow up ships to make sure their targets did not escape.

    Time to find out.

    Later…

“He’s blown up my bloody ship”

Valerius and Redmon had arrived back at the spaceport and the landing platform where his yacht had been parked. The Electrostar was now in ruins, luckily there was nothing valuable on there as Valerius tended to keep only what he needed for his job on board. But a Baudo yacht was expensive and with this one gone he would have to order a new one which would take a while to build and ship out.

Well this would be a brilliant explanation. A Mandolorian blew up my yacht and I need a new one. Which could get blown up again.

He looked to Redmon “If your next comment is either something witty or a smart arsed comment, I advise you keep it to yourself” he said folding his arms across his chest. Valerius still luckily had his datapad which sent and backed up information regarding all of his cases and his current job. But he was rather looking forward to a hot shower and a change of clothes.

“So since my ride seems to have been blown to bits what do you suggest is the best option. Hopefully the Mandalorian came on a ship I can confiscate, or you can come along and help steal whatever floats your boat. Or hopefully this place has a comm array. I can send a message out that I need a lift, although I don’t know who will come or if anybody will come. Or perhaps you have a better idea. But one thing is for certain, I am not going to end up like you and ending up stranded here. I do not wish to go upstairs and wait in some religious cult’s waiting room or be grabbed by the Hunters, dragged out into the desert and transformed into a machine like Toba Das was”.

“I have a job to do and there is a woman out there in danger and could be walking straight into a trap or get blown up in this war that is kicking off. So unless you want me to arrest you for wasting my time, you can help me, maybe for a little extra credit”.

    Admiral Seron Antius Madine
Aboard the Song of War, Tactical Ops Center

He saw their looks and felt their doubts. The teenage Admiral. A man too young for the job in charge of one third of the Republics fleet now. If Admiral Farlander would die, he would be in charge of the entire Republic fleet. He could not honestly say he was not afraid of the thought.

He landed his shuttle and had ignored any requests by politicians. Truth was, the military was pretty independant in such situations. A lesson learned from the Old Republic. He marched through the corridors with as much confidence as he could display and entered the tactical ops of the Song of War. The doors slided open and Ajun Tanafis, his second-in-command and Captain of the Flagship was already there. Geron had followed him anyway.

He had one look at the Battle of Corsin and gasped. "How many?" He asked and Ajun turned to him. "1150 Star Destroyer of unknown design. Five siege platforms. Three command cruisers. 30 carriers and a number of yet unidentified ships." Ajun said. "About 1.200 ships. Almost no support crafts."

Seron closed his eyes and swallowed. "They outnumber the 2nd two to one." He said.

"From my first analysis more like three to one in terms of firepower, Sir." Ajun said. Seron nodded and gave the battle a long look. It was chaos, but he clearly saw the 2nd fleet had lost already about 20% of their ships and had been divided. They were launching their attacks in waves of Star Destroyers in shot succession, while the giant ships had taken hold of the gap in the center and shipped troops to the planet. Bombardment had begun. He zoomed in on the planet and air superiority had been taken from the 2nd fleet already. He quickly zoomed out again.

"A group of starfighters is pushing back under the lead of Vigilance green squadron. The Admiral has ordered to keep the hyperspace lanes free for evac. He took a defensive position." Ajun said.

Seron nodded. Typical for Farlander. "We are loosing the battle." Seron simply said. His aides only nodded. "Do we have anything nearby? Anything we can send to help them?"

"112th Battlegroup can be there within three hours." Ajun said. 112th was about 70 ships. The Admiral nodded.

"Send them to Bogden to secure the evacuation. Can you zoom into the echo quadrant?" There was movement there that seemed concentrated.

Ajun did as asked and in the center of twelve Star Destroyers was a ship almost two miles long.

"An interdictor. They will block hyperspace and strand the fleeing ships." Seron said. "Send that to tactical. They must launch a counter offense to take it down." He folded his arms. The strategy was nothing short of brilliant. Nobody had ever considered Corsin to be a viable target. The whole 2nd fleet had been too much. Where had the Free Systems got this fleet from? Why had they not known about it?

"Any weakness in their design?" Seron asked.

"Proton Torpedoes seem to be able to reach the reactors of these Star Destroyers, so they seem to be volatile to attacks by Starfighters." Ajun said. "They are in full offense, not shielding their capital ships enough." Ajun sighed and then confirmed what Seron saw already.

"Generally speaking their ships are faster than our, have excellent shields and immense firepower. They seem to be modular, with some having more flak batteries and some concentrate on ship to ship weapons."

A perfect fleet for space battle with other words. They were about to loose one third of their fleet and Corsin. He had warned them about Elyseum, but he had not thought this was possible.

"Orders, Sir?" The Commodore asked now.

"We leave behind one battle group to protect Kuat, Chandrilla and the core. Unite the 1st fleet at Brentaal. We move ASAP." The Admiral said. If this Armada reached the core and split they would not get a chance to fight back. "Request the 3rd fleet to send two battlegroups to Brentaal, too. 1st and 3rd fleet are now on Red Alert, Kuat and Corellia homefleets shall activate all assets and prepare for the protection of their home planets." He sighed and felt his legs grow week.

He was at war now. Two hours in office and he was about to enter one of the biggest conflicts in the galaxies history.

    Kilara Vasetti
    The Streets of Death

It were too many, yet they had nowhere to run. From all sides the Legion and Tion‘s soldiers poured now on the little plaza between the streets they had just used to discuss matters. She had just been about to tell them to go north, where no landing zones were, when they had been cut off.

„Back to back.“ She ordered as the Silver Reaper hissed the word at her she feared most. TRAITOR. Yes, she was a traitor now. A traitor to the Legion and to her Master. Traitors had to die.

„Stay calm, let your fear guide you, but do not give in to it. They got little room, so they will come one by one and they can‘t use their blasters, so this will be close combat.“ She sighed. „We will have to kill them all.“

She felt a force-user nearby. Not exactly a Jedi, but no Legion certainly. Maybe he would give them the necessary advantage. Kilara turned to the Silver Reaper. He was more dangerous then the rest of them combined. She knew he was her work to do. Bringing her red blade up in front of her face and then above her head, she prepared for the imminent attack. Clenching her teeth she allowed her fear and anger to fill her. Darkness was not an exclusive right of Canos. This madness had to end and the boy was the key. She would not let them take the boy. No. She would kill them all by herself, if she had to.

„Let us dance.“ She pressed out towards the Silver Reaper and her feet moved a little back, to prepare for a leap.

    Janis Callisto
    The Street

Janis did as he was told, turned his back to Tanee and Kilara and faced the street where none of the lightsaber swinging adversaries awaited. He pressed the ignition button and the red blade hissed into existence again. A lightsaber. He had never fought with one, but he knew the weapon was now all that was between him and these men. Those slaughterers. Those butchers. Those men who had killed innocent people. He did not feel fear, as Kilara said. He felt anger and he allowed the anger to take hold of him, grabbing the lightsaber with both hands so tight his fingers turned white. Then he breathed in deeply, trying to open himself to the force as he had on Elyseum. Everybody said he was powerful. Everyone said he was so incredibly strong in the force. He now called upon this force, called upon it with all his desperation.

He felt it fill him, as it had above Elyseum. He had not wanted to kill anyone. He never had desired to take a life. But this was not possible. he understood now that he was at war. Happy his mother would not have to see it, he prepared to . . . kill. Kill them all.

Let the force guide you. It will not fail you. It is your ally and you have no idea how powerful an ally it is.

Was that Kira Romar talking to him, or was it a memory borrowing her voice? He breathed out again and brought the lightsaber up in front of his body.

He was ready. As ready as he would ever be.

„C‘mon! What are you waiting for?!“ He yelled at the troops in front of him.

    Tanee Bolyn
    The Streets

When Tanne took the lightsaber, she had pulled her staff apart and put it back into her pack sling while they agreed to follow the Darksider. As it had been decided that now was the time to go, Tanee could feel that something had changed. Noise and the sounds of many footsteps and armor became apparent. And like before, she noticed that they seemed to get close before she could notice them.

She heard one of them call out "Traitor." as they hissed and ignited a lightsaber. No, two of them. Tanee took in a deep breath and called back to her the feeling she had when she stood in the temple's inner chambers. Tanee could not sense any clear area to which they could escape. Tanee then hears the Darksider speak.

"Back to back," she told them. "Stay calm, let your fear guide you, but do not give in to it. They got little room, so they will come one by one and they can‘t use their blasters, so this will be close combat." She sighed. "We will have to kill them all."

There was a pause, as Tanee turned on her saber. It sent a strange emotion through her. It had been a while since she had held a lightsaber blade, but it felt like it was just yesterday. If felt GOOD and her hands. Tanee turned her head slightly as she heard the woman move a bit, and then call out "Let us dance."

Tanee could hear Janis move as well, to tun his back, and face those coming from his direction. She didn't hear any saber in that direction. That was good. She heard as Janis yelled out, "C‘mon! What are you waiting for?!" He yelled at the troops in front of him. Tanee reached out with the Force to Janis. Perhaps fighting together, they could keep the enemy at bay. She had heard of things such as a battle merge. She didn't know how to do that extreme a thing. But perhaps she could extend her senses so that she could move in counterpoint to him and the darksider as well. Tanee gave a slight grin. The Force was certainly up to something. Who could imagine she would find herself fighting shoulder to shoulder with a Darksider, and a young boy who was so powerful in his own right. The thought was strangely calming.

Tanee brought her saber blade up in front of her, as she settled into a stance she had done so many times before. She said nothing, feeling that the others had said enough. There was nothing more to be said.

Now it was time to fight.

    Sera Romar
    The Streets of Death, indeed

The troops did block her way, but they were not hunting her. They were hunting a trio of force users. All three armed with lightsabers, also Sera would say they had very different levels of training. One was using her red blade as if she was born with it attached to her hand. She faced a silver armored leader of this enemy group. One was a Jedi with a blue blade and some training least. She was wearing blindfolds, though. Either she was really playing this very fair, or she was blind. Sera guessed it was the second. She faced another dark warrior, with a strange helmet and a red blade. The third clearly used the weapon for the first time. He had an unusual intensity to him. Something she had never felt in anyone before. Anyway, he was facing several soldiers.

The three were an odd couple.

It were maybe forty attackers. Too many for the three she assumed. Too many for her either. Nevertheless, she did not feel like seeing anymore people killed today.

„Vatek here,“ The voice came from her comm unit in her ear. Finally. „Copy, status.“ Sera whispered.

„Jeorge and me made it inside the spaceport, also it is locked now. He ran out and told me to take off if he was not back in five minutes. That was ten minutes ago.“ Vatek clearly fired up the Nightflyer‘s engines as he spoke. „Give me a pick up point.“

„Send coordinates, come quickly and be ready for unfriendly encounters along the way.“ Sera said and took aim. The blind Jedi was probably most endangered by the dark warrior and she aimed at the man‘s head. Jedi could deflect shots and so could this one probably. She would only shoot once the lightsabers were locked and he did not have that option. Then she would fire away into the enemy hoard, just to keep them busy and disturb their attack. Best chance to survive this was giving these three very different warriors more room to fight.

    Vanlu Teslisi IC:
    ~Battle of Corsin~

The explosions of both the enemy destroyer and the Eternal Justice were expected but also grim reminders of the situation he now found himself in. It was awe-inspiring and fear inducing in equal measure. Vanlu also couldn’t focus overlong since he was in the middle of a still ongoing battle!

    “Oh dammit.”

The kessurian smiled faintly despite himself as he waited for a response from allied ships. “Having trouble with the Mark V?”

It was almost immediately after he playfully called out to Vlo that he got a response from their compatriots.

"Red Squadron, Red Leader to unknown fighters. As you seem not have any signature, we adopt you as Red 7 and 11. We lost those two. Meet us at 4.4.6 and join the squadron. Leader Green has command.”

Taking a deep breath and an internal grin, he replied as professionally as he could muster, trying to hide both his nerves and excitement. “Red 7 copies.”

Sorry, Vlo. Had to take that number, eleven was always an unlucky one for him. Mechanic’s superstition. Anytime that numerical came up in his work, something went awry. Every time. He remembered his partner once jokingly remarking on it as being part of some conspiracy against Vanlu.

The inward grin vaporized right about then. Beep beep beep! Enemy lock. When did—!?

“We got three on our back!”

And just like that, his partner panicked and flew left to dive under a destroyer. One of the enemies followed him, most likely picking up on his panic.

    “Vlo!”

Looking back ahead of him despite his worry, he pushed his X-Wing to full throttle to go straight, dipping down slightly at first. When he got a chance, he’d help his friend. But for now, he had to focus. Their lives depended on it.

As always when in a cockpit, even though it had been some time since he had actually flown, everything else seemed to fade now that he was really concentrating. It all came down to what he had to do. What the ship could do.

    The synergy had begun.

His hands held fast to the controls as he did everything to shake the enemy off him, including a large tight banking turn to the right that pulled them a full 360 degrees and angled back up toward the bow of the Behemoth-Class Carrier known as Kenobi. Hopefully that brought him behind the enemy fighters, so he could get a shot at one of them.

Estimating that whomever remained would start to break off the moment he got close to avoid the now beginning counterattack fire from the capital ship, he decided to nimbly wade into it. Twisting this way and that to evade friendly fire, turning around swiftly and going just over the top now. If things had went as anticipated, the fighters should be scurrying off elsewhere. Yet still be in perfect sight of him.

He’d open fire again then notice the next communication over the channel.

    “Green Leader, above.”

Then a gasp. It wasn’t from him, but it might as well have been. Easily over a hundred Tie Fighters were descending on the battle, nearly blocking out the nearby sun. About ten squadrons in division.

Quickly diving down and back under the Kenobi once more he hoped to pull a full circle all the way around the immense vessel and now be behind the TIE swarm as they descended at the same time. After completing this loop he’d chase after and begin firing indiscriminately at these TIEs. Moving as fluidly as he could from one enemy ship to the next.

“This is Red 7, where are you Red 11?”

It was already madness and for him, it was only the beginning.

"Obviously." Akeem responded, disgruntled by Taruun's redundant commands. He'd thank Taruun later; the man had blown his cover and risked his life to get them to the ship. Akeem was appreciative. As he set a course for Haruun Kal, he maintained hands on the controls as he looked up to space. Half the sky was covered in fighters and minor blips that Akeem would recognize as explosions. He thought for a moment about how he had treated Taruun. When had he become so aggressive? Especially to his elders? This was not the way he was...at least not before the last 5 days. He considered that he may be on edge due to everything that had occurred. Surely, that was it.

A face of focused resolution barely reflected off the glass of the screens in front of him. He kept an eye on the clouded, war torn skies while maintaining their trajectory along with the rest of the crowd of escaping transports. This world was gone and this war would reach Haruun Kal, of that he was sure. His main purpose now would be to go home and assure the protection of his mother's kingdom and his brother's life. These were the moments that the Royal counsels taught about: those moments in history when thrones would be threatened and worlds devastated.

    Karina Bestat
    -Spaceport, Corsin

Artillery? It wouldn't just be here. They would likely be spaced out, strategically placed in secured landing spots. Hawk noted that it appeared the artillery would be aimed at civilian quarters, but that was not Khan's concern. These mortars could easily be turned against the spaceport and their fellow ground soldiers and they would. Targeting the civilian quarters would inflict mass casualties, but there would already be mass casualties. It would just promote despair and disorganization among the ground forces as command demanded they try to protect the civilians. This would impact the troops ability to confront the enemy and split their forces. Khan's reasoning developed quickly as she checked her ammo supplies and grenades.

"Hawk..." He was shaken. He should know better. "Focus. Lorn, bring up a city schematic." While Lorn took a few seconds to pinpoint their location, Khan directed Rubber to switch to his grenade launcher and for Buzz to ready his light machine blaster. The enemy troops numbered approximately 50, but they were group together to set up the mortars. The schematic sprung to life from Lord's wrist.

Many rooftops surrounded the enemy, but only the one that they had just cleared was certain to be rid of enemy presence. Time was of the essence and clearing another building to get into position was out of the question. She silently criticized the schematic before coming upon a solution.

"Hawk, go back to the rooftop. We need your eyes and sniper fire. Buzz go with Hawk. I want heavy fire, chop them down. Everyone give Lorn an extra therm. Lorn, I want you to set explosives in the alleys here and here. Do not become distracted no matter what happens to the rest of us. These will be the alleys their unit will use to escape or bring in reinforcements. Rubber, you're with me. We're going to move forward down the alley we're on now and bring the heat once everyone is in position."

She saw Hawk's armor shift at leaving Rubber and Khan on the ground. "Copy, moving out." Was all he said in response. They moved fast and wasted no time. Buzz and Hawk sprinted back inside the building they had cleared. Hawk taking the rooftop while Buzz covertly occupied a window, setting up his machine blaster. Lorn was the fastest of them, but his task would take a few minutes to set up completely. Khan and Rubber stayed in the same place, keeping an eye on the hulking droid and the artillery mortars.

Rubber switched to a private com channel. "Karina..."

She cut him off. "I know." Rubber only broke codenames before engagements to remind her: Excel and bring hell. It was a private, intimate moment they always shared.

"Roger that, that big droid's going to be a problem."

    "Yep."

"Probably has shields, is hyperreactive, very fast, y'know the unforgiving type." She could tell he was starting to joke.

    "Yep."

She took a breath. "Bring the rain."

Hawk would begin to fire in rapid succession at the artillery operators. One shot, one kill. Buzz began to laser a line of blasterfire through the ranks of the enemy. Khan and Rubber rolled two thermal detonators down the alley way towards the droid commander and before either could explode began to advance down the alleyway. Khan firing at the soldiers while Rubber fired his grenade launcher towards the droid commander and any soldiers unfortunate enough to be around him.

    Fields in front of Corsin

The 117th infrastructure was eradicated by the bombs almost completely. The few soldiers who had survived were now in full retreat towards the Garnison. They all stopped as they saw green energy bundles hit the facility. The shields still held, but under a barrage of a dozen turbo laser batteries they would not hold forever. Especially as a group of TIE CRUSADER‘s now turned and flew over the heads of the troops of the Third Republic. They were heading for the shield generator and began to dance in the air like flies, as they tried to avoid the heavy flak fire greeting them.

Streets of Corsin, South of the Spaceport

The soldiers knew their shots could be reflected and switched to energy pikes and vibro swords. They were restless, desiring the calmness before the inevitable outburst of violence to end. Their need to slay those three youngsters was screaming into the force.

They all took one breath, then the silver Reaper initiated the attack and from all three sides the soldiers rushed at the trio.

The Silver Reaper closed the gap between himself and Kilara with one leap forward and began covering the girl with a combination of left and right attacks from both his blades, staying aware of his defense. He knew who she was, he knew she had been trained by the greatest Assassin the Legion had and he would not underestimate her. His superiority with the blade was what he courted on, but finally he would keep her occupied until her comrades had fallen and their numbers would overwhelm her.

The Legionnaire in front of Tanee attacked with a wide and powerful swing. The force guided her blade to block his, but the impact of his strike was so powerful it almost swiped her off her feet. Before he could send a second blow Tanee felt the heat of a shot pass her face and the pressure on her block vanished right away. The attacker collapsed dead with a blaster hole where his helmet and face had been. Three soldiers with energy lines took his place immediately and attacked Tanee in a coordinated attack.

Janis saw the white troops from the eastern front draw their swords and they came right after him. The first stabbed at him, but Janis felt guided by an unseen power and sidestepped the enemy, slicing through him with one wide swing of his lightsaber. His victory was short lived though, as he had swung too far and the second attacked rammed him, sending him to the ground and bringing his sword up to slash down on the lying boy.

Sera saw the scene from her hiding place and she killed another three of the troops as they entered the battle before a shot hit next to her head. Finally one of the black armored Tion troopers had spotted her and fired his carabiner wildly into her direction.

    Spaceport, Corsin, City

The thermal detonators and the grenade launcher got the troops cold and Hawk began to fire as they went off, blowing up the droid and a dozen of the troops around him. Chaos spread among the enemy immediately, they had considered this to be secured zone. One fired his mortar in a desperate attempt to fire at least one load. Hawk killed him with a second shot right away and then the remaining troops began to spread, trade cover and return fire.

Rubber send another two grenades into the midst for them and then suddenly collapsed at Kahn‘s side. A shot had hit him in the shoulder and she saw it had severed his arm.

„SNIPER!“ Hawk yelled through cook and began searching the surrounding rooftops. He knew for him it was now a matter of life and death of finding his rival before he picked him out.

Five of the remaining troops had actually enough understanding of tactics to push forward now towards Kahn‘s position where Rubber was clearly in shock and shaking wildly in his full body armor.

    The nightside of Corsin, Orbit

The Ubese transport Akeem and Taruun had acquired made it‘s way out of the battle zone and towards the orbit on the side where the battle was not raging. Explosions could be seen to their left, as the 2nd fleet was under heavy fire now. The battle was obviously not going well for the Republic and whatever the two men had expected, the Armada that was attacking defied expectations. The ships blocked the view to the stars so many had arrived in orbit. An endless stream of destroyers and giant warships in between. Taruun stay in the lounge, as Akeem pulled the lever and their ship vanished into hyperspace in a direct route to Haruun Kal.

Soa Sten was right behind them and saw the ship go to hyperspace. As she pulled the lever a moment later only a red light blinked and an unnerving TEETTEETEET came from the navigation system. A gravity well had been activated just as the Akeem escaped. Soa floated now between a hundred ships, mostly transports around her and all of them were cut off hyperspace. On her sensors she saw three squadrons of TIE-X had broken threw the fleet and now were on their way towards the transports.

It would be a massacre. She had no weapons whatsoever in the training fighter.

Redmon now lost a bit his nerves and actually was quite loud when he spoke up.

„Man, what can I do about you not securing your ship? Maybe in the fancy spaceports you usually frequent that works, but around here? Man, that was an amateur mistake. Anyway, the Mando got his ship probably secured, if he has not even parked it in orbit, as they often do. There might also be more Mandos aboard. They nowadays often hunt in pairs. Not a good idea!“ He calmed himself and smirked. „Well, but I might know a guy who got a ship. You still got your money, do you? So pay me for my job and I get you guys together as a bonus service.“

He looked at the burned out wreckage of the yacht and smirked again. „The guy had it all figured out, until the Hunters got involved, right?“

    The Streetfight!

All three for them survived the first impact, but the boy was in trouble. She summoned the force to herself and blocked the attacks of the Silver Reaper. With the blade they were well trained, but in the force an apprentice of the inner circle was far beyond his capabilities. That was at least what she hoped. Speeding herself up she dived below one of his blows and extended her hand, sending a force push at the man who was about to slay the boy.

Then she brought her hand back to her lightsaber and concentrated one blocking again, letting the Silver Reaper feel he would not find a gap, not a weakness in her technique. She was trained by the best and she was not letting a simple Reaper dominate her. They were under her in the hierarchy. They had been. She would let him feel why. When she saw an opening, she would unleash a weave of dark lightning into the man, feel his agony and helplessness against the powers bestowed upon her. Then she would try to end him quickly.

There were many more to be slain. A sniper supported them from somewhere and she still felt this other force user in their back.

After all she was killing today anyway and in a strange way killing her own felt better than slaying the Padawan had.

    Location: Seuca Va Spaceport, Trian

Valerius was getting rather fed up with Redmon's attitude. It reminded him of criminals or assassins he had caught. Always cocky, thinking they were the top dogs.

Luckily he did keep some credits on him, although unlike Tara he didn't carry around an entire bank's worth of money. Some of course was stored on the now ruined yacht, hopefully if he ever did get home he could replenish it.

Valerius could give an impassioned speech about greed but Redmon probably wouldn't care. He pulled two thousand credits out of his inner jacket pocket and studied it. Redmon had taken him to the guide that would get him into the Hunters. He walked towards Redmon slowly.

"You know I have seen some things in my investigative work. Potential assassinations, adultery, organised crime, but the biggest thing? It always revolves around money. Greed is always the biggest factor. Nobody wants to help people just because they can, it's all about the credits. And i'll bet you always say to travelers that come here that you will help them...for a price. Oh and before you say anything I have done some cases for free, because I want to help people like I want to do here" he handed over the money, smirking back at him.

He turned serious "Did you know a war has started? Oh yes, the Free Systems and the Third Republic are at war, I had heard rumours about one possibly starting but I have had it confirmed to me. The woman I showed you has gotten herself in a precarious position and I need to find out what's going on because it could be the key to stopping it. So if you don't help me well, let's just say it'll be hard to spend those credits if you're dead. Because if the Empress of Tion is as bad as I heard she is then she will cover every planet in the galaxy with her armies and kill everyone. Civilians, anybody that gets in her way and that includes on this dust bowl. She is right now if I heard correctly attacking Corsin, whole civilians being wiped out while you and me are haggling over the price for transport off"

He raised an eyebrow "So maybe I did make a mistake in not investing in one of those security systems with all the bells and whistles on. But what I did not plan on is Mandalorian bounty hunters also coming after this woman. Someone wants her dead badly, and I want to know why, I want to find her before they do." He pulled out another thousand "If your guy has a ship that will get me to Tion and not one of those ones that breaks down along the way then you get an extra thousand. That's it."

If Redmon chose he could help or he could hinder. And if he chose the latter…

Then Valerius's quest would be over.

    Corsin streets, bloodbath

The troop surged and swelled to get to the Jedi in-front of them, and Matthias took a deep breath and rushed into their rear. He did not practice economy of movement; he aimed broad sweeps that would remove as many heads as possible, dedicating fully to the assault and abandoning any form of defence - he drew upon the Force to speed his blows. He would be as swift, and sure, and certain; it was the only mercy he could offer.

    Lozzlo‘s Inn, near Sauca Vai

It had been a minor disappointment that so many worlds had been unable to supply the parts for the YT-1300, but the Millennium Falcon had long passed from the definition of classic to relic and probably beyond. Corellia had been his best hope, but on the way here Chewbacca had been forced to come to terms with the fact that the ship might be making one of its final journeys.

The Corellian freighter was his legacy from the Star Wars, an almost episodic tide of betrayal and war and pivotal battles. He himself had participated in more than a few of them - Kashyyyk, Yavin, Hoth, Endor, Starkiller, Crait and Exegol - but the Falcon had been as key to the victory of the light as him, Han, Luke, Leia, Lando, Poe, Finn or Rey...as Chewbacca reminisced about them, he knew that the Falcon was the last of them he had - apart from himself. He would have liked to count Threepio, Artoo, D-0 or even BB-8... but all four were droids, and had the ability to outlive any of them...

As long as he had the parts.

Now the Falcon was on its last legs, he had no choice but to look at his own mortality directly.

Was he simply delaying the inevitable, here and now?

But, as luck would have it, Mowon had came through, and Chewbacca could put away beneath a wroshyr tree that mental discussion.

With the little BB-8 in tow - co-pilot, fellow mechanic, and Skywalker-Solo family heirloom, Chewbacca - rarely Chewie to anyone nowadys - paid attention not his droid as it applied its quizzical curiosity to every patron he encountered, but to the mechanic and Mowon. "Checked your request, hairy one. Actually we got a coupling." So said the young overeager mechanic who had been sitting at the window and now jumped of it and walked over to the Wookiee. Mowon nodded, satisfied.

"Gimme a couple of hours and your old rusty lovebird flies like it was made yesterday." Liara smiled. "Is it true that thing was around when they blew up the Dead Star?" She asked and grinned broadly. People began to forget names, even those of the Death Star.

History was what it was. It had been a century-odd since the Battle of Exegol and the rout of the First Order...

[The Death Star], Chewbacca woofed in his dialect. [The Falcon was around before, long before, but it was there - both Death Stars, and Starkiller Base too. I flew it at the Battle of Exegol...] Chewbacca remembered the incredible high of that engagement - a series of impossible twists and turns and a galaxy saved - again.

He was happy to not have had to save it again recently... though in all his little acts, he liked to think he was carrying out his responsibility even without contributing to its governance, or even to its current Jedi Council. [How long will it take for you to fix?] He hesitated as BB-8 tweetled. [BB-8 here is happy to help out.]

Chewbacca would rather have done it himself, but he wasn't as supple as he used to be; his joints didn't always allow for him to navigate the various accessways and tunnels that criss-crossed the Falcon. So he was content to let Liara do her bit if she was excited enough.

    Janis Callisto

    The Streetfight . . .

He was shocked by how easy he took the man‘s life. One swing of the energy blade and he was gone. It was not like the shooting from a canon he did on Elyseum. This was upfront, close-quarter combat and death was very personal and visible here. The shock was probably the second he missed, as he tumbled back, hit by the next attacked and landed on his back. the sword of the man went up and he knew he would have no time to defend. he was probably about to die, which made him only angrier. The man never finished his move, as he was ripped of his feet and thrown into the three next attackers. Janis leaped to his feet with an ease he would have considered impossible. He leaped forward and screaming his red blade began to strike down on the men on the ground, killing one with each strike. The last got on his feet, but Janis turned around his own axis and cut through his leg, before slicing of his head as he collapsed. The force . . . Or was it his anger really? Guided his movements and screaming out he faced the remaining opponents. Indeed he was powerful. He felt the power to take life. He felt how the force flowed through him, became a part of him, guided his movements, without a conscious thought necessary. This Kira had not told him about. The dark side of the force was how dangerous it made you, how easily it was used to wreck destruction and bring death to those opposing you.

Maybe there was indeed something of his father inside of Janis.

Breathing heavy in anger he saw the next soldier approach, the last one to be courageous enough and then stop. Janis imagined killing him, like premeditating the action to come and the man spasmed once and Janis felgt his body and his bones, flesh and never and he pushed it together through his pure will. It felt good. It felt as if this man with his deadly intent was nothing compared to him. Clenching his fist and teeth he felt the man die and collapse before him. He had taken his life with the force and the force alone. It was intoxicating to feel it obey his commands and yet he stumbled back, also shocked by how willingly he had taken a life. His fear had made him angry and his anger had made him powerful. The power had come at a price. He felt the urge to take more life, felt how he was tainted by something. Something that now would be part of him for as longest he lived.

That was what his father was. His father had become this urge, it had consumed him long ago. He understood this instantly.

    Tanee Bolyn
    The Streets

The Darksider that attacked Tanee had a powerful swing. So powerful, it took Tanee all she could do to keep standing. She prepared herself for his next attack, recognized that she could not beat strength with strength when the Force whispered to her just as a slash of warmth, passed her face. Suddenly her enemy seemed to grow weak, and she heard the sound of the man falling in front of her. Someone was firing into the group. She certainly hoped that the shot had hit the intended target, as she moved to face her next targets. Knowing that she could not overpowerer them with strength, she adopted her moves as she pulled out one piece of her staff. Two hands were better. She decided to use their strengths against them and adopted her moves to flow and move with them.

Suddenly she felt that Jais was in trouble and had fallen when sudden, the Force change around her. It was Janis, and whatever seemed to guide him, seemed to take over. While she was busy with whoever was still in front of her, she could feel the strong pulse in the Force.

"Janis. Control yourself!" she told him, even as she attacked the person in front of her, hoping to quickly end this conflict, and get off of the streets. And now that there seemed to be other people helping them as well, that might be a good possibility of that happening now.

He dove below the Kenobi and saw a fighter making a run there to shake off two following fighters. „Green 3, stalker on six, take care of him.“ He ordered the pilot who had so far shown most promise in the flying department. „Red squadron, follow me in, get protons ready.“ He turned his ship down and dove to the Star Destroyer below. Truth was in a few seconds the 10 squadrons of enemy fighters would make it here and then this would be a fight for survival and nothing else. That meant he had those seconds left in which his proton torpedoes could still make a difference.

Accelerating downwards to the Empress-Call Destroyer he armed hiss torpedoes and activated the targeting system. „We gotta get in quick, because once those fighters above are with us, it will be everyone for himself. Expect dogfights, expect chaos and concentrate on survival, not shooting them down. A kill for a kill does not help us here, as they have the numbers.“

„Red 7, 11, 9, 4 can you escort us into deployment position? Everyone else, activate torpedoes, we give that one all we got left and hope it was enough to bring it down. He Wasa fully aware what he was doing and what he was risking. 120 fighters from above and he dived drown into the lines of the enemy, where the escort squadrons of seven Empress-Class awaited them. From their numbers so far he would say four squadrons each, with an additional bomber squadron? He had these four squadrons nailed and, but he would punch a hole into the enemy line and all he could do now was hope someone aboard the Kenobi had more sense for war than Admiral Farlighter. Because the only chance Sid and his men had was the Kenobi would dive into the hole and hit the attackers battle group with everything they had.
