Beside barabels, defels and umbarans, what species do we know of that are nocturnal/have evolved to live in low light?

Sullustans (cavern-dwellers, become blind if they spend too much time without shades in an enviroment made for humans).
Utai are cavern-dwellers like the Sullustans, an their eyes look like those of nocturnal creatures too.
Chandra--fan can handle themselves in total darkness without trouble.

Quarzite's residents maybe (Kage and Belugans)? It's basically a planet-wide network of caverns.

    Geonosians are also underground-dwellers.

I'd be plenty fine if we were told Takadona was in the Unknown Regions or a whole 'nother galaxy, but there is no way the above image is of the GFFA.

Pretty much a similar issue I have with the above aliens--they all look alike and are similar colours (browns, tan, yellow, etc...). Even though people may dislike something like TPM, the alien designs there were much more interesting and diverse.

There's nothing familiar about the castle-goers except the "Ithorian subspecies". Why don't we see familiar aliens? It's bizarre. None of the creatures tell me that what I am seeing is Star Wars. The galaxy of the prequels felt like the same galaxy as the originals. They introduced plenty of new aliens but also kept the old ones. I guess if the prequels did it it shan't be repeated.

Maybe, there's an in-canon explanation: maybe the Empire and then the First Order did what they could to wipe out the prequel-introduced aliens?

Wow, how did I not notice this thread until now? I'm a MASSIVE SW alien enthusiast. And this seems like it might be a good place to ask a question that's been on my mind: why has a species never been given to Veedaz Awmetth? To the best of my knowledge he's the only alien from the original six movies, except of course Yoda, to not have his species be named. Many suspect it's a demonym of his planet (Sarrish) but I'd really like to know for sure.
