Col, TN Events and Meetings and socials, oh my

Okay, so after reading and responding about keeping the forum alive at http://boards.theforce.net/threads/fanforce-forum-romanum.50028670/page-3, it came to me that I'm not helping to keep the topics a-flow-in either. So with the thought of trying to be part of a solution rather than part of the inactivity, I thought I would post this topic.

Do we have any events in the near future on the slate? If so, what are they, and is anyone looking to do more? If no events coming up, does anyone want to make plans for one?

Charity/costuming events are always fun. But not the only type of event we could do. We had a post for current events, but don't have one now. Anyone have new events to add? If we don't have a request for an appearance, what about just meeting for fun.

To help keep the forum fresh, I thought it would be fun to have a topic of the day thread...something to help motivate us to check the boards (at least locally) more often. Except for one thread in the past several months, I don't see any posts that are not event-driven (posts about one or more events). Is there a resistance to posting more random threads here?

Does this forum need a metaphoric AED to jumpstart it back to life??? ....and discuss!

 

Well I'm kinda new here so if I shouldn't be posting here sorry in advance. There is a one day convention happen in Hickory NC here's the link http://www.hickorycon.com/ It's this month on the 30th. The 501st have been there before but anyway if anyone is interested in going it small but fun.

 

That is a little far for me on a busy weekend, but hopefully you can round up a group of people to go. Thanks for the info.

That might be worth starting a new thread in the SE Region for...and tag it for the proper NC area (closest one you can find). If you aren't that close, pick the tag area closest to you and maybe you could meet with other locals in your area and carpool or caravan. The tags help things stay cleaner and easier to filter down to your local area. Hope it is a great convention.

 

Yes! We do have live events and meet ups.
Unfortunately they aren't reported or scheduled here like they should be but usually wind up as events on the Facebook page.
I will get with our CR and coordinate to make sure everything gets listed here that also gets put on the FB page.
