TV Discussion Family Guy: Blue Harvest, Something, Something, Something, Dark Side & It's a Trap!

I must confess, despite my enthusiasm for SSSDS via the reading from the BH DVD, I am not holding much hope for this. Yes, there are spoof ready moments. And I cannot wait to see how the scene with The Emperor is handled (my fave scene in ESB). But The Carbon Freeze Scene will be horrible, i think. I hope not. Wonder if they'll play that bit straight, perhaps. We'll see.

 

I just checked tv.com and '...Dark Side' is set for the Season Finale. With the ROTJ following. Is this correct? The Season Premiere for 9/27 about Stewie and Brian on a trip to alternate dimensions seems sweet though.

Damn...I was waiting for SSSDS to be the premire. Now I gotta wait three more months.

 

the way I see it, only Francis Griffin can play the emperor. For those of you who havn't seen him on the show, he is a short-tempered old man who is a die hard Christian. I could see him being like "Go ahead, take your lightsaber and srike me down Luke, and THEN YOU'LL BURN IN HELL!" that would be really cool. OH, EVEN BETTER!!!!!! BERTRUM AS THE EMPEROR!!!! And the monster on hoth that would have eaten luke as either Meg, or Tony Robins. And the Ton Ton to be played by Meg if Tony Robins gets that monster.

Also who is going to play the Bespin Lobots?
And wouldn't it be cool if the Greased up deaf guy, Mr. weed (Peter's old boss), Angela (Peter's Current Boss), or Olivia gets a part?



( and god forbid they do remakes of episodes 1 2 and 3, I guess they could cast Olivia as Padme )
yes I know there is an accent over the "e" in Padme. My computer doesn't have that though.

 

I can indeed see Francis Griffin as the Emperor. I kinda hope not. But that would be sweet to see him as the Hologram. I pray that SSSDS has that scene. It's my fave scene in ESB. But why release the DVD that length of time before the broadcast. It does not seem right. But TV Guide can be wrong.

 

I like some of the jokes in the Family Guy table read before the video was taken down on YouTube like:

LOIS AS PRINCESS LEIA(to the Rebel Pilots on Hoth): "We are about to evacuate the planet and even though we have literally an infinite number of directions in which to flee we have chosen to head directly toward the fleet of Star Destroyers! Are there any questions?

REBEL PILOT(raising hand):"Yeah, is there anyone from the military we can talk to? A man, perhaps?"

and this:

DAK:Feeling alright sir?

CHRIS AS LUKE: Just like new! How about you Dak?

DAK: I feel like I can take on the whole Empire myself!

CHRIS(stopping):"Wow, that would be awesome! Hey everyone! Dak says he's got this one!

The Rebel Pilots cheer

DAK: You know it bitches!

Dak gets in a fighter solo and heads into space straight towards a Star Destroyer

DAK: Hey Imperial fleet! Get ready to SUCK SOME DAK!

 

Not a very inspiring trailer. It was just Ep5 footage converted into animated form, with only very few jokes sprinkled here and there, none of them actually funny.

 

They did throw the burning TIE pilot body in, though, so that was a little touch I didn't see coming. I'm sure if we'll get another we'll get more of the jokes. I hope.

 

I was kind of impressed by the way they converted the effects in animation. Looking forward to the space battle in ROTJ! They're also really trying hard though to keep secret which FG character is playing the new ones. I know the giant chicken is playing Boba Fett but I'm really curious who's playing Yoda and the Emperor.

 

According to wikipedia, Carl (the "Big whoop, wanna fight about it?" guy) will play Yoda.

Personally, I think the evil monkey would have been better as Yoda. Since, you know, Chris is the one who plays Luke.

 

Actually the Carl they are referring to is Chris's boss at the convenience mart that always want to talk about movies with him.

 

Meh, either one would work, I guess. But the evil monkey is still my number one choice for Yoda.

I can just imagine Chris landing on Dagobah and the first thing he sees is Yoda pointing his finger at him, then Luke screams and hides behind a log.

 

They're probably saving the evil monkey for Salacious Crumb.

 

Just saw the Trailor for SSSDS. It was a good teaser. I am glad that the Emperor will be there. ANd the Operator bit seems like a fun set up. ANd Peter teasing Lois about how she sounds is sweet. Looks like it will be fun.

Words cannot express how excited i am for this. When blue harvest came out i laughed harder than i ever have at any family guy episode and it became my all time favorite spoof of anything ever and now "SSSDS" will replace it as my new favorite.

I don't care what anyone says this is going to rock!!!

 

Just seen it.

It has a few laugh-out-loud moments but there seems to be a lack of jokes in this compared to the first time. A lot of it was just straight copies of ESB.

It lacks the charm and wit of the first one, which is a shame.
