Mod!Challenge Fanfic Olympics - Round Three results and the Winners of the Fanfic Olympics are...

Hello folks, it's time for EVENT 2 OF THE FANFIC OLYMPICS! The Dare Challenge!

For this event, the goal is to use one of the 'dares' provided to come up with a story of your own. At the end of the week, your readers will then vote for their favourite story to determine the winner. First place will win 100 points for their team, second place 75 points, and third place 50 points.

This is an individual event; not every player has to participate, but we highly encourage everyone to do so.


THE RULES

1. If your muse is inspired, you may write for more than one dare. Each dare you write will be eligible for voting, but if you place twice in the rankings (for example, if you score first and second place), only the highest ranking will be taken (you would only win first place).

2. Your story may be as long or as short as you wish; there is no word constraint. However, if you decide to create a multi-post story, only what is concluded by the deadline will be eligible for voting.

3. You may post a link to your dare in this thread, along with your process if it is a mult-post. However, ALL DARES MUST BE POSTED BY 11:59 PM PST SEPTEMBER 19th to be eligible for voting.

4. The Star Wars team must stick to Star Wars, and the Non-SW team may use any fandom they wish except Star Wars.

5. All of the elements of the dare must be included in the story by the deadline. Voting should take into consideration which story best utilizes the dare criteria.

6. Voting will last the 20th to the 25th. Participants are not eligible for voting, but we welcome anyone else to vote. You may send your votes to any of the FF mods, and we'll tally them up.

THE DARES

Dare #1:
Two (or more) characters of your choice are stranded on an island (or similar such setting). How do they save themselves, and survive in the meantime? You must include:

• The phrase “I cannot unsee that!”
• The words agelast, callipygous, and kerfuffle
• Dangerous fauna
• A fishing mishap

Dare #2:
Someone is late for something important!
You must include:

• Condiments of some sort
• "Is it supposed to do that?"
• Dialogue from at least 3 people
• A stuffed animal
• Someone wearing really amazing shoes

Dare #3:
You must write a canon character having a dream, within a dream, within a dream. All 3 "levels" of dreams must be included, along with the character being awake. You must include:

• A blender (or fandom-equivalent)
• The phrase "Not in there!"
• A sunset
• Three (or more) of the Greek Muses (more info can be found here)
• The color heliotrope

Dare #4:
You must write an Alternate Universe story where your character(s):

• Are in the equivalent of high school
• Two people are secret siblings
• Someone is presumed dead
• Someone is under mind control/brainwashed
• (The 'someones' can be all the same person, all different people or a combination of people)

Each participant can submit via PM, a guess as to which of the fanfic mods (Bri, Mav, Mira, and Nat) wrote which dare; Each one of us wrote one dare.
Your PM can go to any of the fanfic mods.


If you match the all the mods with the correct dare, your team will receive 25 points.


Your guess must be submitted by 11:59pm PST Wednesday September 16th. So in a little over 24 hours!


Please, no one guess in this thread, we will reveal who wrote which dare at the end of this challenge and the additional points awarded.

 

I don't see why you can't Ewok Poet; it just wouldn't be part of this particular challenge, or eligible for the voting.

I'm always up for seeing more kooky stories on the boards, though.


And I have to second Nat in saying that the drabbles were most excellent. I can't wait to see what people are inspired to write for this!
