Definetely Rodians. Oh and Bith and Ithorians, they are soo cool! And Hutts, of course. Dont forget the bloodthirsty Trandoshans. Rakatans walk and speak soo weird! And Wooks are also awesome. Oh and i hate the Yuuzhan Vong, Utapauans,Kiliks and geonosians. Soo ugly!

If we're including alien "animals" i'd go with the Acklay. It's basically a velociraptor/crab monster.

As for "people" aliens my favs are the Rodians and Trandoshans (why do the cool lizard aliens always have to get stuck in "bad guy" roles?)

If I had to choose to become one and live on Earth, I'd pick Zabrak so I could wear a hat to hide my horns and blend in.

The Sith are by far my favourite alien species. However, I have a real soft spot for Squibs, and being a dinosaur lover I'm obligated to say the Ssi-ruuk, who are essentially Velociraptors with forked tongues flaring out of their nostrils.

For non-sapient species, I'd go with the Tuk'ata and Terentatek.

 

The Tiss'shar manage to be even more "Raptor-ish" than that - having the traditional large single toe claw:

Sentient - Twi'leks.
Non-sentient - felinx. I'd have one of those.

 

In what I am sure comes as no surprise to some of you, the Taung are far and away my favorite non-human species in Star Wars.

 

In the Empire comics and thereafter, I believe. Otherwise, they're depicted without toe claws and a much stockier, humanoid frame. I suppose some of this variance could be due to the different subspecies. That, and the awesomeness (at least when it was perfected in the NJO) that is entechment, makes me prefer the Ssi-ruuk.

Then again, some Tiss'shar have protofeathers, which is more awesome than nostril tongues in my book...



I'm also fond of the Trogodiles, which look very much like humanoid, diminutive allosaurs. I wonder how the Clone Wars would have turned out like if Swyy'm-Ee had defeated Ventress. Probably awesomely.

Dinosaurs are mentioned several times throughout the EU, and applying to more than just the reptiles of Trammis III. The Tiss'shar are actually identified as 'therapods,' [sic] which makes me wonder if the Ssi-ruuk would also be theropods, and whether there's any relation, even if they are on opposite sides of the galaxy. The reptilian Kanzer Exiles' practice of mental enslavement, and location in the Unknown Regions, might also be indicative of a relation to the Ssi-ruuk, and the thought of dinosaurs becoming associated with the Knell and Warriors of Shadow (and the 'Infinite Sith,' in my headcanon) to become Sorcerers of Rhand is just too awesome to ignore. In fact, makes me wonder if the majority of dinosaurs died out in the cataclysmic Muurshantre Extinction (which may well have been caused by the Knell), which resulted in 'the Kanzer' losing a homeworld thus becoming exiles.

Edit: Ooh, ooh. Also, the Sorcerers first gathered in the 'ruins of a dead species' on Rhand. And it was presumably the past history of the Knell, the Kanzer Exiles and the Taung which informed their nihilistic, entropy-worshipping philosophy. So if the Kanzer Exiles were dinosaurs who got wiped out... Well, I think a death cult centred around extinction and the end of the universe makes sense, doesn't it?

 

Twi'leks for me although I wouldn't mind being a Jawa. Those sandcrawlers are really cool.

 

The Rakata would have to be my choice.



I've always been fascinated by ancient, technologically advanced high-cultures, and the Rakatan Infinite Empire is the most interesting.

 

I was going to have a Rakata Youngling in my fanfic. I may yet if I pick it up again.

OOH I forgot the dinosaur species! I'm quite fond of the blue T-Rex (ish) Jedi in the Darth Maul comics.

Difficult to pick just one. Star Wars aliens are so cool and creative! Some of my favorites are:
Pau'an, Amanin, Besalisk, Devaronian, Ewok, Gotal, Dug, Iktotchi, Abyssin, Muun, Skakoan, Talz, Thisspiasian, Transdoshan, Weequay, Whiphid, Mon Calamari, and Huk.

But, if I had to pick one favorite species, it would be the Chagrians. Hence my username.

I believe that was a very painful pun. Anakin would be a worthy competitor there.
