whatever merc found with their upgrades around the austrian/british gps is really paying off. great win and strategy for george.

edit: oh dear, car was significantly underweight. may be a dq for george, that would be brutal.

 

he's been dq'd. really hate that, but supposedly that's an extra tenth a lap underweight, which is significant.

good for lewis, though. and podium for leclerc!

i really, really hope newey goes back to williams now. albon and sainz are a brilliant duo, james vowles is one of the best strategic minds in f1, and now they just need the technical pedigree.

seeing williams atop (or even on) the podium would be amazing to see

 

pretty cool what we're seeing this year. aside from checo and red bull, both drivers at each of the four "big" teams have all won a gp.

mercedes has given bono a very well-deserved promotion to head of race engineering, so he won't be off to ferrari with lewis. wonderful partnership they've had over the years, six world championships and birthed a meme.

magnusson has crossed the penalty point threshold, and cannot race at baku.

 

bearman driving for haas at baku, replacing k-mag.

will be interesting to see what he can do in a substantially lesser car than the one he drove at saudi arabia for sainz. good preview of what he may be able to do next year for haas too, beneficial all around.

 

McLaren is on top of the Constructor's race!
