Now I has a sad because nobody mentioned my boardiversary... c'est la vive...

That sounds outrageous, mavjade; sounds like they're trying to take you for a ride, so to speak... [face_awful_pun]

Ugh. That sucks. I hope you can prove to the company that you weren't actually the one to go through the tolls. Though how freaking expensive are tolls in the US? To get to Vancouver, we have to cross a bridge (or go the long way around it) but the toll is only $3.50.

This weekend in my crazy life, I have a response paper to write (once my prof gets the one I did last week back to me), a script to start working on (our final project for Monty Python class is we have to write a script in the style of Monty Python, so I will be doing a satire of modern medical TV dramas, using historical doctors), my cousin is in town for the long weekend with her baby (he is sooooo cute), so I want to see her, AND STUPID BRIDEZILLA'S husband is out of town, so she wants people to stay with her because she is too afraid to spend the nights by herself  so I offered to spend Friday night with her because I wasn't doing anything (though, if I had known my cousin was coming, I would not have offered).

All this is combining in the fact that I SHOULD probably do something tonight, but I have the energy of a snail's entrails.

In NYC it cost $14.00 crossing the Hudson. Well I think it's 14.

    I'm sorry. :(

Going to con this weekend. I'd love to get a chance to meet Stan Lee, but there's no way I can justify spending $100 for it. Well, I'll get to go to some good panels and get some good shopping done (here's hoping for finishing up my Marvel Star Wars, Empire and Usagi Yojimbo collections!). I think I might pack the manual for Uncharted in case I decide to get Nolan North's autograph, but there's not that many voice actors I'd have sign stuff, personally

S'okay whiskers, and 'grats to you on your eleventh. Hope you have a good time at con—though I agree that shelling out a hundred clams just to meet Stan Lee is nothing short of highway robbery.

I always find some of the prices for con stuff so frustrating (and it often has nothing to do with the actors or creators, the organizers set the prices). There was a FanCon here last weekend and I ended up not bothering, mostly because what they had, wasn't even worth the $40 entrance fee for me, but I know other places are totally worth it.

So, if you don't want to hear about my school oddness, don't read further. As I mentioned above, for the final project for this Monty Python and History class, we have to write a 10 page screenplay of a historical event/person/etc in the style of Monty Python. My original idea was to mock the TV show House (and other medical dramas) using historical doctors known for something other than being doctors (my focus I put forward in my proposal were St. Luke, a pirate surgeon, Che Guevara, and Graham Chapman), because a big thing Flying Circus did was put historical people in modern settings, and then make fun of both. I did my proposal with my bibliography and the prof loved it. Anyways, flash forward to tonight and was watching interviews with the Python members to get inspiration (because, honestly, the above is all I got for ideas for this screenplay, due in 11 days), and Eric Idle made some off hand comment about John Cleese being a professor, something like "if I ever spoke at a college, it would be at a Canadian college to do something like give a 'sermon on the Mountie'."

Needless to say, now I totally want to scrap my original idea, and Canadianise the Sermon on the Mount. I could do it - I could get all my research done in like an hour (I'm quite knowledgeable on both elements). But I would need to write a new proposal (not exactly time consuming either) and get the prof to approve it.

Today was a new Steven Universe episode and Erma had babies. So, I named them all after characters from Steven Universe. She is now nursing the Crystal Gems.

She had some trouble with the first two, and I helped deliver them (she had them on a towel on the couch), and the next two came out fine. Then she had a fifth and it was breach and I had to help again. All the babies are fine, though, and making all sorts of cute noises. I'll get pictures in the daytime.

Oh, my. You now have a brood.

Also, my uncle once had a spider named Garnet. Hopefully your garnet is much cuter.

And, I have decided that my "Blessed are the bilingual for they shall get all the government jobs" was really all I had. I'm back to doctors and leprosy jokes.

Good thing that the Gem names are pretty unisex, and even Steven is kinda unisex, so it really doesn't matter what gender these kittens are. They're adorable lil grey beans.

"All names are unisex if you try it." -My mother (and I wish I were kidding).

Also regarding cats. Aggie has been trying to get a toy (and by toy, I mean an empty treat bag) out from under my coffee table for days (I'm mean and wouldn't get it for her because it has kept her busy). This morning she got it. And the 4 seconds later, she lost it.

Also, I am at the point where plot bunnies are exploding in my brain, yet I have 11 days (hopefully less) to go before I can really jump on them. I'm definitely at the "regrets" stage of spring class (and very glad I didn't pick up a summer one).

For the breach birth, basically I just gave her some leverage and then cleaned the kitten's face once it was out. The first two, she'd have them part of the way out, and then tried to run, so I had to hold her and the kittens. Erma wasn't happy, so yeah, she's getting fixed when I can arrange it.

Reading all the Awards news makes me really wish I wasn't so fried this last year. I need to get back into it for next year. (Though I did share an award win, so yay!)

TrakNar - Congratulations, I guess? I had no idea Erma wasn't fixed and I do hope you will get her fixed, especially given that she could give birth away from you next time, based on all you said. Cute kitties! <3

Raissa Baiard - Glad the birdy is OK.

    whiskers - Happy belated anniversary!

Briannakin - So, I could get a job at Canadian government? :p

mavjade - That sounds very fishy. How can they claim you were somewhere you weren't?

Also, thanks for your, I guess compassion is the right word. :)

In the end, a foreign client paid me and money arrived at six in the morning today. But I woke up at eleven, found no response from the person who is supposed to show the site to these two cottonheads who own a beauty salon, yet there were a total of TWENTY messages about the conference and a couple of new leads. If I'm supposed to sit on the Belgrade-V. bus on August 20th with mom and have that vacation & not come back here 12 days later absolutely broke, I'm going to have to think of better methods of persuasion.

Then, I didn't get to pay my phone bill, so I cannot nag to this person - she rejected the calls from my mom's phone and is not returning my e-mails - and it turned out I got my friend's wedding time wrong by 30 minutes, so I had to run to the municipality. Once there, I thought it was a good idea to sit on the side table while taking photos...and then, the side table tumbled over and, while my bag with laptop and tablet inside, my phone and the lens not attached th the DSLR stayed up, the wine bottle I bought for the newlyweds tumbled down and...there was a lot of wine on the floor. Lucky my friend's seven-year-old is misbehaving all the time, so my clumsiness fades in comparison.

The ceremony with the specialised translator for such matters was interesting. I thought she was there on behalf of the Canadian embassy, since my friend's husband is Canadian, but nah. Then they demanded a document from the groom's parents, but luckily, it could not halt the ceremony or anything.

Either way, I'm so happy for these two. :)

Kittens! A result from her weekend when she did't come home? Bah, who cares, I bet they're adorable. A lot of good shopping: picked up a Emperor Reborn Palpatine fig and bought a book from KJA. Did not pick up a Darth Malak bust that would have blown my budget...

My son bought the video game DOOM. I watched him play it for a couple minutes and got so dizzy I thought I was going to puke. I get motion sickness while watching all that movement. [face_sick] I read it is called simulator sickness and it really sucks when a gamer is afflicted with it. Luckily I never play video games. I just have to avoid watching other people playing them.

Goodwood - Happy belated boardaversary! [face_party]

TrakNar - Awww... kittens! They are so cute! [face_love]
It really just depends on where it is. The toll I actually went though, the Henry Hudson bridge is $5 if you don't have a fast pass, The Lincoln Tunnel is $15. A few of the ones into Boston are as cheap as $1.75. Even for my $5 toll they'll charge me probably at least $20 because rental car companies are out to gouge you.

I suspect they had the wrong license plate documented on my car rental so someone else got my bill and I got theirs. I just don't have any way to figure out or prove that is the case. But I hope my proof there's no way I could have been where they said I was will be enough.

I'm glad at least someone paid you!

Blah. I just got back from sleeping at bridezilla's. I felt kinda bad because the people who were supposed to spend the other nights with her, canceled, and that would have just made me feel like shavit if people did that to me. I got to cuddle with her corgi all night! So adorable!

But now I have to work on papers and face the mountain of laundry I have piled up. Ughn.

Doggy cuddles are the best! :)

I have a frightening amount of work to do, most of which should have been completed last weekend, but there have been delays both on my and other people's behalf. Nevertheless, I...didn't do anything. I mean, I did - I cleaned Agi's cage better than ever (while he kept on threatening me because he's undergoing bird puberty), I vacuumed the room, cleaned all the wooden surfaces...and then sat down to look at ideas for painting it to look like Endor. I fail at being an adult bigtime!
