I have been to McCormick before the food court area is nice here are some of the places listed below. Better than most con food and open space! When my wife and I went to C2E2 she was able to catch a breather in the food court for a while. http://www.mccormickplace.com/attendees/food-beverage.php
In an earlier page, it was suggested 2 meetups, one on Thursday at 3pm at the con and one on Saturday after the con
15:00 works for me. Mainly coffee, yes, but for it to be a proper fika as suggested, we'll have to have some form of cake or cake-like things. Which I'm sure will be available from the same vendors. Lets do the food court near the autographs so that Padme501st and other folks with a schedule don't have to travel a lot. Option 1. Would the food court on the far end work (upper left)? It is close to one part of the autograph area. Auto people, if this is where you're getting stuff signed, lets meet at that food court. I assume it'll be quieter / less busy than the food area in the centre of the show floor. Option 2. If your autos are in the right side area, we should meet at the central food court, opposite exhibitor #4139.
I believe @Padme501st volunteered to bake a cake for the group that she will bring in her event approved bag. Thanks Padme!
I am known for making pretty good food and desserts but since I'd have to make it on Tuesday at the latest it won't be as fresh as I would like. Though, I wonder if I could bring a local Amish cake up with me I agree that Option 1 might be quieter cause it's away from the SWS stage. I doubt we'll know exactly where our guests are till the day of anyways.
If the auto area won't be announced until the day of, lets simply go for Option 1. It'll be less busy and thus easier to navigate / spot. I toyed with the idea of baking, but with work being crazy and costumes that still need to be done, it's not gonna happen. I can be a total millennial / Californian stereotype and bring avocados from our tree.
You also have to keep up with the Swedish fika-tradition! And yes cakes and sweets are necessary. I don't think you want me to bake and bring stuff over the Atlantic though. I think the more quiet area also sounds best. And we will of course recognize each other with our beautiful forum name badges.
Well y’all sure have some good looking desserts. I may have to change my mind about not making something
Oy, well that Roll Cake looks exquisite. One day I'll make it to Sweden... Anyway, you can probably tell who I am from being a nerdy looking dude with glasses and a Star Wars T-Shirt on, so I'll be hard to miss
You're all better than me! I start travelling on Monday so if I were to bake anything it would have to be this weekend and I just don't see it happening, sorry all. But if we're bringing goodies I'll see what I can find in Target when I stock up on supplies! And yes, that roll cake looks amazing.
Both of those deserts look extremely delicious! but I'm sure such goodies won't be at the Con. center.(maybe Starbucks, but smaller and expensive!) yes, must have coffee, but beware! lines for miles.
I go to Trader Joe's and stock up on dried fruit ,crackers and things, I bring it with me to save money.but sometimes something tasty and hot is good.
We have chosen a a design down here, you print and laminate it yourself. https://boards.theforce.net/threads/pick-the-jedi-council-name-badge-design.50051184/
Uh . . . I need a new screen. I ate a chunk out of it! I can smell the butter and i'm still licking the screen.
So, before people start travelling, are we definitely 3:00 Thursday at the food court on the upper left of the map?
