Gaming From Bricks to Buttons: The LEGO Star Wars Discussion Thread [Mod Approved]

I wonder if you were playing as an Imperial character at the time? IIRC I’ve been in some space battles where the side I’m playing for is dependent on which character I have piloting the ship. So if I’m Han Solo I’m shooting at TIE Fighters, but if I’m Darth Vader I’m shooting at X-Wings. I wonder if that logic seeped into the mission and caused Biggs to register as a target.

 

Yeah, that's not a glitch - I had a mission to save a Rebel ship but was set as an Imperial, so it flipped the targeting around - first time you come across it, it is very unexpected.

 

There’s a mission in AOTC (with the conveyor belts on Geonosis) with a mini kit where you have to shoot a target to get it down, only the target never appears for me so I can’t get the mini kit.

This is the most inexcusably broken video game I’ve ever played. 6/10 was generous.

 

I was in an A-Wing as Tallie, so not an Imperial. Maybe the different time period threw it off?

 

I’ve really been digging this game, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed with how many glitches there are without a patch in sight. I finally made it to the Sequel Trilogy this week, and when I got to Takodana where you’re supposed to talk to Maz, there’s a glitch that doesn’t allow you to talk to her, and therefore, I can’t continue story mode. Apparently this is a common glitch and there hasn’t been a fix yet. I filed a bug report with TT Games last night and they said they’re working on it, but apparently this has been an issue since launch and still has yet to be resolved.

 

Not a glitch, but a weird inconsistent side story beat. To complete Lobots quest you need to be a bounty hunter, but at the end of it he makes a joke that implies you're supposed to be either Han, Leia or Chewie. Playing as Boba it kind of worked, but I got the impression it was meant in a different way.
Not as bad as some of the other issues, but it made me raise my eyebrow at least.

 

The “Attack of the Droids” challenge in the So Uncivilized level of Revenge of the Sith is impossible to complete. You have to defeat 5 battle droids, 4 MagnaGuards, and 5 super battle droids without dying once. Only problem is, there aren’t that many of those enemies in the level. So. Fun stuff.

I finally got up to the max x3,840 stud multiplier, so I’m gonna get True Jedi on the remaining levels and then I’m done. Really disappointed in TT for the product they put out. Likely won’t play their stuff in the future.

 

Was in a story mission (Senate Showdown). Got the last mini kit at the beginning of the level. Went to the upgrade menu to spend some of my kyber bricks on upgrades. Since the game doesn’t pause in the upgrade menu, I was getting attacked, so I backed out to fight off the enemies. Pressed select and… nothing. The upgrade/mission menu wouldn’t open. Pressed start. Nothing. Can’t pause. Had to either finish the mission or close out of the game entirely from the system menu. Chose the latter.

The brokenness of this game isn’t getting talked about nearly enough, so I will continue dumping on it. I’ve developed a personal vendetta against Lego Star Wars lmao.

Edit: In the next mission (The High Ground), in the third phase of the battle where you have to find Anakin, I go to the story marker and find him, only the scene doesn’t progress. Anakin is there, I’m fighting him, but he has no health bar and nothing is happening to progress the fight. I could fight him for hours and nothing would happen. I can’t get the mini kit at the end of the level because of this. I quit the level and restarted it, same thing.

 

Yeah, it's a great game, but it is a broken mess. In the vent of Geonosis where you stack the blocks to get onto the pipes, I accidentally dropped one into the pit. When it respawned, I could not move it around at all. I eventually cheesed it by using Boba Fett. Also somehow stopped being able to enter buildings at Theed. Well, certain ones, anyway.

I honestly can't blame them for wanting to just release it and move on. That engine must have been driving them mad.

I'm having a lot of fun playing this game. One thing I particularly love is the interaction between characters. Certain combinations have funny conversations. These are my favorites so far:

Kylo & Han Solo
Kylo & Darth Vader
Kylo & Rey
Darth Vader & Lando

 

Be interesting to see what TT have been working on to expand the game. Maybe we could also get a look their newest game, assuming it's Marvel related of course.

I’m giving this game another try. When I played it last spring, for some reason I wasn’t getting the achievements for completing the movie levels in story mode. Possibly because I tend to get distracted and switched characters to collect kyber bricks that I couldn’t reach with the story characters. This time I’m doing a straight story-mode playthrough and the achievements are unlocking. I’ll go kyber hunting after I’m done with story mode.

 

Skywalker Saga Hitting Playstation Plus membership in a few days, still never got a chance to play it so I am stoked

I figured it would hit it eventually, seems every Lego game gets on psplus

 

I recently replayed the Sequel Trilogy for fun, having replayed the Prequels and Originals earlier in the year. Such a consistent delight, and just a great game to boot. Am real glad more people are being given a chance to play it now!

 

The game even makes the sequels fun, that's hellishly impressive.
