    @vncredleader @ConservativeJedi321

I seem to have lost what year on the Galactic Standard Calendar (ABY) Guardians of Light is set in.

What years are most of the RPGs set in? I have Saridona Prime as the location for the GOL temple, but I had to dig around for that.

The current game is set 156 ABY, the previous one was set about 146 ABY. Gives us a lot of freedom to mold events without having to step on Legends toes now. :p

Epic task. I went back over lots of material, trying to capture the major historical shifts. I recommend only reading this in sections.

Comments and corrections are welcomed : ) :) :bluesaber: :greensaber:

    IC: Tython
    Location: Saridona Prime
    Year: 156 ABY

    Hello Master,

It is with great pride that I have constructed a brief history of the Jedi Order from approximately 5,000 B.B.Y – 34 A.B.Y, including the transition from Tython to Ossus that predates 5,000 B.B.Y. In doing so, I have attempted to reconcile conflicting data stores originally pulled from Holocrons and other historical accounts preserved in the library on Saridona Prime.

I must emphasize that our data stores, at this time circa 156 ABY, often come into conflict with each other. Counted amongst the sources include many droid accounts. Notable is the frequent use of Astromech Droid and BB Unit recordings collected from the Clone Wars, Imperial, Rebellion, New Republic, and Resistance Phases. In particular, the use of large supercomputers creating an interface scheme with astromech units during the early phases of the Rebellion is noted. Some dating conventions such as “Sidereal Age” and “Sidereal Beings” appear to have come in and out of use quite quickly, only to emerge nearly exclusively in droid binary. In hindsight, one must ponder the original unabetted intentions of the droid programmers in the early years of the Rebellion.

There will always be hope for reconciling disparate historical accounts. We contend with the bits of information the force allows us to reconcile. May the force be with us all.

Image Above: Tionne Solusar holding the Tedryn Holocron in 40 ABY

Among my Jedi holocron sources, data store remnants have been included from the Tedryn Holocron which Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan managed to recover from the Imperial Regime under Darth Sidious. My sources also draw heavily on the wealth of impermeable crystalline data stores recorded by Odan-Urr on Ossus during the Post-Manderon period (5,000 – 4,000 B.B.Y); also, Tionne Solusar, New Republic Era, who studied the Jedi Holocron of Jedi Master Arca Jeth of Arkania and Jedi Master Asli Krimsan. Finally, no history of the Jedi Order can be complete without delving into the writings of Jedi Master Gnost-Dural, whose general writings, journaling, mapping, and holocron skills have preserved the knowledge of the post-Ossus Jedi Order. To this day, holo-images remain available to all initiates of Gnost-Dural reciting Jedi historical events from the Great Hyperspace War (5,000 BBY) to the Treaty of Coruscant (3,653 BBY).

"For over a thousand generations the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times. Before the Empire."

    Tython Period, ~36,453 – 21,000 BBY.

Legend has it that force-sensitive beings were gathered and brought to the Tython System in the Deep Core aboard the Tho Yor Pyramid Spaceships at 36,453 years BBY. Eight Tho Yor visited force-sensitive cultures throughout the galaxy, bringing warriors, scientists, healers, priests, artisans. Among those chosen, Wookies from Kashyyyk; Dai Bendu Monks from Ando Prime; humans from Dathomir and Corellia; Twi’leks from Ryloth; Selkath from Manaan; Red-skinned Sith from Korriban.

All of them, force-sensitives, arrived at the planet Tython where they honed their sensitivity to the force. The early Je’Daii of Tython learned to cultivate the bright Ashla, a binding energy field, distinguishing it from the dark aspect, Bogan. Those who did not use their connection to the force towards the goodwill of others fell into darkness. The Force Wars and Despot Wars are among the conflicts that shaped this period. In the millennia after this era, the founding of Jedi Order occurred, followed by the founding of the Galactic Republic.

Surviving records appear to have been maintained in data stores created by Odan-Urr and his contemporaries during the Ossus-period. The writings of Seer Qui-Ko is amongst the writings from Tython that have survived to the present in various forms. The First Great Schism within the Jedi Order appears to have occurred during the Tython period. From Tython, the Jedi migrated outwards in generation ships from the Deep Core into the galaxy, settling on the planet Ossus which housed the Jedi Temple and archives. In the millennia after this era, the founding of Jedi Order occurred, followed by the founding of the Galactic Republic.

    Ossus Period, Circa ~25,000 – 3,996 BBY

At 5,000 B.B.Y., the Jedi Order was based on Ossus, having served the Republic over the millennia since its founding. Records indicate Jedi Order membership included numbers from Republic worlds. The preceding millennia held relative stability for the growing Galactic Republic.

Jedi Masters Odan-Urr and Memit Nadill are historical figures from this time (Post-Manderon Period). Odan-Urr is remembered for establishing the Jedi Code, becoming Chief Librarian and Keeper of Antiquities.

    Great Hyperspace War, 5,000 BBY

This era witnessed the discovery of yet new hyperspace lanes permitting travel between known, charted systems and hitherto vast, undiscovered space – in the Unknown Regions, Outerrim and beyond. By this time, the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic had come to live in isolation from the Sith Empire – though that barrier of protection soon gave way into centuries of strife: as new hyperspace lanes were discovered, the Sith Empire of legend inadvertently discovered the Galactic Republic when amateur hyperspace travelers Gav and Jori Daragon wandered into Sith Space aboard their legendary ship, Starbreaker 12.

The events that followed show the breaking down of the millennia-long barriers between civilizations. These events culminated in the Great Hyperspace War. Sith vengeance, pent up for millennia, was unleashed upon worlds of the Galactic Republic. In turn, when the conflict finally dissipated, the Republic rose up to erase any remaining vestiges of the Sith, in hopes it would never surface again.

Sith Lord Naga Sadow had taken over as supreme Sith Lord following the death of Sith Lord Marka Ragnos. With Naga Sadow stationed in a meditation chamber, the Sith Empire ransacked the Galactic Republic, catching republic worlds off-guard, fomenting conflict for millennia to come. Memit Nadill is remembered among the Jedi heroes who defended Coruscant and eventually pushed the Sith Empire back.

As history shall be our teacher, we stand as witnesses to the overarching errors made by the Galactic Republic at the close of the Great Hyperspace War. The Galactic Republic served a painful and humiliating defeat on the Sith, annihilating Sith warriors in their homeworlds through massed carpet bombing, removing native plant life, decimating anything moving and breathing. This policy of full eradication can be traced to Republic rhetoric built upon the risk of contamination from the Sith civilization. The sentient minds responsible for this policy reasoned the Sith Empire would eventually erode the moral fabric of the Galactic Republic through biological agents, darkside energies, and secret lineages of Sith infiltrators.

Naga Sadow and his contemporaries went into exile, hiding Sith artifacts on the moon of Yavin IV. Despite their defeat, the Sith managed to preserve their millennia-old agenda of sworn vengeance against the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic. It is now presumed Naga Sadow and the Sith Empire envisioned millennia of reprisals. Yet, Naga Sadow and his contemporaries appear to have been acting on previous agendas that can be traced back to the great schisms of the Jedi Order.

Millennia earlier, schisms within the Jedi Order led to fallen Jedi intermarrying with the red-skinned Sith race, natives to Korriban. The fallen Jedi and their offspring would become the Dark Lords of the Sith. Together, they built an empire in Sith Space, in isolation from the Galactic Republic. It is worth noting that Korriban has held different names over the eras, such as Pesegam, during the reign of Xim the Despot; and Moraband, during the Clone Wars.

Dromund Kaas later became another Sith headquarters world, where a vast military infrastructure was built up for the purpose of waging perpetual war. The surviving Sith of the Great Hyperspace War retreated to worlds such as Dromund Kaas. In these worlds, the Sith Empire appears to have re-birthed itself under the goal of bringing destruction to the Galactic Republic.

Great Sith War, 4,000 BBY – 3,996 BBY

A millennium later, the Sith threat rose again, this time under fallen Jedi Exar Kun. By 4000 B.B.Y., Jedi Master Arca Jeth and three of his students, Tott Doneeta, Ulic Qel-Droma, Cay Qel-Droma, served as watchmen for the Onderon System. In a perpetual state of war, Ulic, his brother Cay, and Tott Doneeta were called in to protect the ruling settlers of Iziz on Onderon. Upon landing, the Jedi quickly sensed the infiltration of Sith magic in the high courts of Iziz. As the conflict unfolded, the Jedi switched sides to aid the Beast Riders after learning that the high aristocracy had fallen under the influence of deceased Sith Lord Freedon Nadd. Freedon Nadd, himself a fallen Jedi from Ossus from centuries earlier, had apprenticed to Naga Sadow on Yavin IV and then travelled to Onderon where he subjugated the world to his darkside control. Once again, artifacts and remnants left behind in the aftermath of the Great Hyperspace War initiated conflicts drawing in the Jedi and the Galactic Republic.

Now we turn to Exar Kun. Exar Kun, a Jedi of great power and ability, became selfish and arrogant in his ways, seeking lost Sith artifacts, and eventually fell to the darkside, despite warnings from his Jedi Master, Vodo Siosk Baas. Discovering the tomb of Freedon Nadd, then navigating to Korriban, he eventually became the new Dark Lord of the Sith. Allied with the Krath cult, he managed to turn Ulic Qel-Droma to the darkside as well -- after Ulic attempted to infiltrate the Krath. What followed was a galactic conflagration which swept up the republic worlds, eventually being named The Great Sith War, or sometimes, the Exar Kun War.

By the end of the conflict, Exar Kun managed to steal an ancient Sith Holocron held by Odan-Urr during the sacking of Ossus. Exar Kun then gained control of the Sith Massassi warriors and entombed himself in the temple at Yavin IV. These same temple grounds, millennia later, would serve as the Rebel chief base of operations in the Battle of Yavin (“0 Year” in the Battle of Yavin Calender System). In this pivotal battle that has come to be the “0 Year” in the Galactic Standard Calendar, Luke Skywalker used force intuition to guide the winning missile that destroyed the first deathstar. Artifacts from the time of Naga Sadow and Freedon Nadd are known to have been dug up as late as the Rebellion era, in the years after the Battle of Yavin.

The year 3,996 B.B.Y. saw the end of the Great Sith War. The Jedi Library on Ossus became destroyed. The surface of Ossus was battered and scarred following the Cron Supernova event. Ulic Qel-Droma became blinded to the force. In the centuries following the Great Sith War, the Jedi Order relocated to Coruscant. Ossus was re-terraformed in the years following the New Republic.

Another notable Jedi during this era was Nomi Sunrider, whose daughter was Vima Sunrider. Nomi Sunrider and her descendants would play a role in the transmission of holocrons to future generations of Jedi. Nomi Sunrider is known in some records to have served as a Jedi Grand Master in the years after the fall of Ossus.

    Mandalorian Wars, 3964 BBY

Shortly after The Great Sith War of Exar Kun, new threats emerged to the Galactic Republic. The Mandalorian Wars is the name given to these conflicts. The Mandalorians begun incursions into republic worlds culminating with the Mandalorian armies facing off with the Republic Army in approximately 3965 BBY. Historical sources show disagreement on the dating and conflicts which comprise these wars.

During this era, the Jedi Order maintained a policy of non-involvement through the guidance of the Jedi High Council. However, a group of Jedi soon emerged that favored involvement. Led by Jedi Revan and Malek, the Revanchist movement swept up other Jedi to join as crusaders against the Mandalorian incursions. This era ended with the Battle of Malachor V in 3960 BBY.

The Jedi Holo-files of this period gravitate to a young Jedi, Zayne Carrick, who witnessed, participated in, and stumbled through the events of the Mandalorian conflict. Although some of our sources state firmly that Zayne Carrick was a dropout of the Jedi order, other sources indicate otherwise. An effort to conceal the truth may have occurred. The greatest number of sources converge to suggest Zayne Carrick’s entire class of Padawans were murdered at the hands of their Jedi Masters, sending Zayne on the run to avoid his own death. The disagreement between sources may suggest an act of censorship.

    Jedi Civil War
This era included the Jedi Civil War, also referred to as the Second Sith War, the Malak War, and the War of the Star Forge. In this later conflict, Revan and Malak appear to have fallen to the darkside after infiltrating the Sith and discovering their ancient Star Forge. Future Jedi Grand Master Bastilla Shan rescued Revan from the darkside, after he fell into a state of amnesia. Together with the Jedi Order, Revan and Bastilla Shan became victorious against Malak and destroyed the ancient Star Forge of the Sith.

Great Galactic War, 3681 BBY – 3653 BBY

Approximately three-hundred years later, once again, the Sith Empire emerged from hyperspace to attack worlds of the Galactic Republic in what would be known as the Great Galactic War. Analysts once again cite the Great Hyperspace War for the underpinnings of this conflict, although Jedi schisms within the Jedi Order itself. This war saw the Sith expanding their reach into Republic worlds further than ever before. Under the Sith Emperor, the Sith Empire had been preparing for the invasion of the Republic for three centuries. A stalemate was reached between the Sith and the Republic, which slowly gave way to a cold war in the years that followed.

Among the events of this war, the Battle of Alderaan (3667 BBY) is remembered especially due to the treachery of the Sith. This battle begun under the armistice of a peace agreement between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic. No sooner had an agreement been reached when the Sith Empire inevitably defaulted. The Sith armies appear to have been led by Sith Lord Darth Malgus.

This Great Galactic War eventually came to a close with the Treaty of Coruscant of 3653 BBY, although it too was soon dissolved in 3642 BBY. Prior to the agreement, the Sith had gained control of Coruscant during an event known as the Sacking of Coruscant. Six members of the Jedi Council lost their lives along with the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic. During the events of the siege, the Sith Empire blockaded Coruscant, starving the citizens below. The terms of the Treaty of Coruscant were signed by Republic officials, Jedi delegates, and high command of the Sith Empire. This Treaty of Coruscant has become a 0 Year for another galactic dating standard, BTC and ATC, respectively.

The Jedi Order soon located to the ancient homeworld of Tython following the Sith occupation of Coruscant.

Jedi Army of Light, 1000 BBY

The years following the Great Galactic War are not known for their stability. The conflicts from 2000 to 1000 BBY are known as the New Sith Wars, in which a constant chess match of claiming planets seems to have occurred. The Sith warred amongst themselves, often imploding from within, as the Sith are known. The Fourth Great Schism, begun by fallen Jedi Darth Ruin, initiated this period.

Moving forward to 1000 BBY, the Sith once again posed a threat to the peace of the Republic and the Jedi Order. It is the Seventh Battle of Ruusan which has become known as a historical turning point. Just as with the Treaty of Coruscant and the Battle of Yavin that followed, the Ruusan Reformations of 1,000 BBY came to be known as a 0 Year in a galactic calendar that has now been largely abandoned. Use of the Ruusan Reformations to mark a 0 Year can be observed in some small circles up to the outset of the Clone Wars.

Near the end of the New Sith Wars, the Jedi Order organized Jedi into what was known as the “Army of Light.” The Army of Light was organized by Jedi Lord Hoth to defend against Sith Lord Skere Kaan’s Brotherhood of Darkness. It was made up of Jedi and troops of the galactic republic. It was disbanded with the ratification of the Ruusan Reformations by the Galactic Senate.

"I dreamt that I would single-handedly defeat the dark side, that I would make a difference, change the galaxy… the galaxy, however, has changed me."

    ―Jedi Lord Hoth

This period saw the establishment of the Jedi Grand Council, consisting of Lords working independently from the Jedi High Council. The purpose of the Jedi Grand Council was to establish protectorate lords to watch over local star systems and lead republic armies. Jedi Master Skere Kaan started as one of these lords until falling to the darkside. Eventually, the other lords rallied behind Jedi Lord Hoth to create the Army of Light against the fallen Lord Skere Kaan.

The Ruusan Campaigns were marked by seven battles. The seventh and final battle saw the Army of Light descend on Ruusan to discover the Sith holding out in a cave network. However, they learned too late of the terrible weapon the Sith had in-store: the Thought Bomb of Ruusan. The Sith detonated the Thought Bomb, killing the Jedi and Sith who were present, and absorbing their force essence. The terrible surprise of this super weapon effectively ended the war and led to the Ruusan Reformations. Jedi historians may interpret the devastation unleashed in the Seventh Battle of Ruusan by the Thought Bomb as a proliferation of force energies.

The Ruusan Reformations passed through the Galactic Senate without contest. Under the reformation, the Army of Light and Jedi Grand Council were disbanded. The reformations isolated veterans from the Jedi Order, many staying in their home system and creating splinter Jedi Orders, such as the Corellian Jedi. Remnants of these splinter orders appear to have remained organized up until the Jedi Purge of 19 BBY.

The Sith likewise also changed following the Seventh Battle of Ruusan. The Sith appear to have reduced their visibility under the “Rule of Two.” The Sith moved forward in secret through the centuries that followed, albeit reduced in number, under the rule that there can only be two Sith lords at any given time, a master and an apprentice.

    The Clone Wars

At the outset of the Clone Wars, the Jedi Temple was stationed on Coruscant. The Jedi High Council was led by Jedi Grand Master Yoda, whose species remains unknown to this day. Prominent members of this Jedi high Council consisted of Oppo Rancisis, Yarael Poof, Even Piell, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Mace Windu, and Shaak Ti.

In this era, the Clone Wars begun. In hindsight, the Clone Wars appear to have set the stage for Emperor Palpatine to take control of the Galactic Senate, who then enacted the Great Jedi Purge (Second Jedi Purge). The former Republic, Senate, and all aligned worlds soon found themselves under the control of a Sith Lord in the form of Emperor Palpatine, known under his Sith name as Darth Sidious. Darth Sidious continued the Sith Rule of Two, recruiting Jedi to fall and become a Sith apprentice. Among the ranks of the Jedi, Darth Sidious recruited Jedi Anakin Skywalker of Tatooine who would turn to the darkside and become Darth Vader.

The Sith took over the Galactic Republic to create the Imperial Empire. In contrast to the Treaty of Coruscant and the Ruusan Reformations, the Imperial Empire now supplanted the republic government. There were no treaties nor reformations for the republic senate to vote on this time. Emperor Palpatine installed a brutal regime that harkened back to the Sith Empire of Legend. Palpatine brought the war machines of the Sith to the heart of the republic, occupying worlds such as Coruscant and Corellia. Worlds that demonstrated resistance to the Imperial Empire were crushed into submission, until their citizens pledged loyalty and offered their children into the ranks of imperials.

Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn initially discovered Anakin Skywalker on the Outer Rim world of Tatooine. Showing a high midi-chlorian count and not having a physical, biological father, Anakin was heralded by some Jedi, Mace Windu and Qui-Gon, as fulfilling the Prophecy of the Chosen One. Other Jedi, including Yoda and Ki-Adi-Mundi, balked, attempting to exclude Anakin Skywalker from the Jedi Order entirely, sensing the boy’s connection to the force could prove unwieldy.

    The Dark Times

By 19 BBY, the Imperial Empire under Emperor Palpatine (Darth Sidious) and Darth Vader enacted the Great Jedi Purge. Under Emperor Palpatine’s now dictatorship, this order was known as Order 66. Republic troopers turned on their Jedi leaders, often ambushing them in the midst of battle. The years that would follow would become known as the Dark Times, amongst the bleakest periods for the Jedi. The Jedi Order was eradicated under Palpatine and Darth Vader, with an attempt to erase its memory from history. Jedi Grand Master Yoda, Jedi Master Ben Kenobi, and a handful of other Jedi went into hiding to survive the purge and maintain the fire that is the Jedi through its darkest hour.

    A New Hope

Jedi Master Ben Kenbi settled as a hermit in the Outer Rim, on planet Tatooine, where he watched child Luke Skywalker from afar. Elsewhere, on the planet Alderaan, Princess Leia Organa was adopted into the family of Senator Bail Organa. Meanwhile, the Imperial Empire under Grand Moff Tarkin and Darth Vader unleashed a new superweapon to threaten core worlds. In this time, Princess Leia transmitted the stolen plans for the first deathstar to Ben Kenobi on Alderaan who then travelled with Luke Skywalker to join the rebellion on the moon of Yavin IV. In what would become the Battle of Yavin, heroes of the rebellion managed to turn the tide of history against the Imperial Empire. The Heroes of the rebellion included Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, Senator Leia Organa, Han Solo, General Lando Calrissian, Wedge Antilles, Mon Motha, Admiral Ackbar of the Mon Calamari, and the Wookie Chewbacca.

New Jedi Order and New Republic

Following the Battle of Endor (and a few remaining battles), the threat of the Imperial Empire subsided. In his final moments, Darth Vader turned against his Sith master Palpatine to destroy him. A New Republic and New Jedi Order were established.

    Rise of the First Order

The First Order consisted of neo-Imperialists attempting to throw the galactic order back into the pattern of the Imperial Empire established under Emperor Palpatine. The traces of this resurgence can be found in the period from 5 ABY to 21 ABY. The First Order appears to have reached the height of its power under Supreme Leader Snoke in approximately 34 ABY. The pattern of the Sith Rule of 2 appears to have emerged yet again during this era, with Jedi Ben Solo falling to the darkside to serve as Snoke’s apprentice. Super weapons again emerged. The destruction of planet Hosnian Prime, capital world of the Hosnian system, occurred in a gross demonstration of power under First Order General, Armitage Hux.

A Resistance formed, garnering many of the same heroes from the earlier Rebellion. The heroes, now older, included Senator Leia Organa, Han Solo and Mon Calamari Admiral Ackbar. The Resistance drew in newer heroes as well, Rey of Jakku, X-Wing pilot Dameran, and Finn, a former First Order trooper formerly designated FN-2187. Jedi Master Luke Skywalker went into hiding on the ancient Jedi homeworld of Ahch-To, though he would eventually battle Sith apprentice Ben Solo, who he had previously trained as a Padawan.

Among the heroes of the Resistance, Rey of Jakku stands out. She demonstrated natural force-sensitivity and adeptness with a lightsaber when extraordinary pressures demanded. In a direct confrontation with Sith apprentice, Kylo Ren (Ben Solo), Rey instinctively allowed the force to guide her, demonstrating great battle prowess. Having shown natural force-potential, Rey sought out Luke Skywalker after his location was discovered. Just as Luke Skywalker before her, Rey became a shining light for the future of the Jedi, allowing the Jedi to continue after the demise of the First Order. The holo-records showing the story of Rey of Jakku are still being uncovered as I make this report.

Absolutely fantastic! It is really hard to effectively recap history in a way that does not get pedantic or to vague.

So just off the top of your head, after having looked through our order's history, what do you think motivated these changes in the Jedi:

    1. Removal of the multiple Padawans per master policy by the time of the peace-times prior to the Great Galactic War
    2. Having a stronger tie to Coruscant by the time of the New Sith Wars?
    3. and finally why do you think that the order became hesitant to get involved with the Republic's policies during the thousand year peace leading up to the Clone War?

How are these choices informed by the conflicts that prelude them?

    1. The Jedi Order became fragile under the stress and strain of constant war beginning with the Exar Kun Sith War of 4,000 BBY. Even during times of peace, there may be recovery from war. The personal accounts surfacing from Zayne Carrick's era reflect the sheer exhaustion of Jedi Masters in training entire classes of padawans into Knighthood. Some padawans were viewed as risky to the Jedi Order. Risks included Padawans falling to the darkside or going rogue in some way. Other padawans may have not demonstrated sufficient sensitivity to the force. The reasons are multi-fold for why padawans would be removed entirely from the Jedi Order or given a new station by the Reassignment Council.

    2. The Jedi Order retreated to the homeworld of Tython following the Treaty of Coruscant. Jedi bases on Coruscant and Dantooine were abandoned. The Jedi Order slowly came back to Coruscant in the centuries that followed. The Jedi Order had to be rebuilt and so it gravitated towards the center of the Republic. It was inevitable that the Jedi would re-establish a base on Coruscant by the time of the New Sith Wars. The demands of that era required the Jedi Order to have Jedi Knights oversee systems threatened by Sith factions. It is worth noting that the Sith displayed less unity in the New Sith Wars than during the previous millennia.

    3. The Jedi Order had a history of non-involvement with Republic policies. The non-involvement can be seen by the Jedi High Council in the Mandalorian Wars. The Jedi High Council likely withdrew Jedi involvement with Republic polices due to the risk of creating new enemies and conflicts. The public perception of the Jedi becoming bully-enforcers led to the Jedi high Council cautioning involvement.

Good points, I would also say that Exar's turn to the dark side influenced the padawan rule. Baas was one of the best masters to ever live, and even he could not manage to perfectly educate all of the students under him. There are downsides like good force sensitives being carted off to the service corps, but in the end I agree with their choice to make the bond between master and apprentice even tighter. I don't know about anyone else, but I feel Anakin would have fallen far sooner if he did not have Obi Wan's undivided attention.

But to the point I am awarding you with 5 FP (wold be more but sadly we have a 5 point limit.

    Well done my Padawan.

That recap of Jedi history was amazing, @Tython Awakening =D= @};- :D

It puts the ST literally in a longer perspective, which I as a fan first of the OT naturally didn't or was not able to fully grasp. [face_thinking]

Although I wish the outcomes personally for Luke, Leia, and Han etc. had been brighter, I'm less shocked/perplexed than I was after the release of TFA. :p

    Thank you @WarmNyota_SweetAyesha

That took a little bit of time to assemble! But there were rewards in going back over everything and trying to explain the deep EU back-history in light of the Sequel Trilogy. Yeah, I was perplexed as well on both films but thoroughly enjoyed them. I try to explain inconsistencies in terms of "point of view." I'm also on the lookout for "in-universe" saga elements that allow for inconsistencies when storylines contradict each other.

SW films take a long time to process. There is so much back-history and information to integrate. One film per year is enough for me, but I enjoyed both times I watched Solo, A SW Story.

@Tython Awakening Agreed. It was exhausting for me to have Solo so soon after TLJ. I mean we are in a constant SW state with comics and shows ongoing, but the films being more than once a year would be overload for me. Plus Solo not getting to do the con circuit may have hurt it's hype which is sad since it is an amazing film

There was a lot to process with The Last Jedi. They are already long films to begin with. I remember coming on these boards and reading threads in an attempt to understand my own sentiments towards the film. Then I watched it a second time in the same week, again for two hours. But yes, agreed, there is too much of a modern mythology built up around these characters to put out two films per year. If you consider Solo, a SW Story, that film had major character revelations concerning Han Solo and Chewbacca that can never be repeated again in a film.

Now that The Force Awakens has had some time to sit since Dec. 2015, I like the contributions it has made to the saga.

Okay, for those interested in the short GoL RPG-- I'm going to do my best to have the opener in the RPF today or tomorrow, and I'll tag all of you who've mentioned your interest when that happens. Character sheets will be very short because I know you all already and it's not that essential to the story, other than that everyone has to be a Jedi of whatever rank ;) If you'd like to get started, the sheet is below-- feel free to stick to your regular Jedi personas or try a new one. There will be one other thing added to the CS that relates to the plot so don't submit just yet, but I thought I'd give you a head start if anyone wanted to.

I will start filling mine out now too Rebecca :)

And a quick question - what era does your RPG take place in?

It'll be roughly the same as LotG-- think of it as an alternate universe from where we are now. It's going to be a self-contained story so it won't matter too much.

EDIT: Thread is up, let me know if you have any questions! :D

If folks that play both end up referencing events from Becca's RPG in LotG I've no issue with it. Helps create one big universe in my mind.
