He might have needs, but that doesn't mean that they were satisfied. And that doesn't mean that he was able to satisfy them at his age.

And...it doesn't mean that he was with anyone else anyway during that time.

There was a fanfic I skimmed once that had Han and Leia hooking up in their deams through The Force during their separation. That's totally my head canon. The entire time they were together, even if not really in the same physical place. They were together as souls.

 

Men having "needs" isn't a excuse to betray someone. Plus it's sexist that idea "men need to have sex regularly, it is stronger than them. Women please, satisfy your husband or he will betray you!"

 

Precisely. And people can take of their "needs" in another way, if you know what I'm saying

 

Heh, heh. I forgot to mention that...

 

And Han would have already been used to long periods of celibacy being away from Leia for half their marriage, during a time when he would encounter regular temptations of racing groupies and cantina girls and stayed faithful. Plus he was in his 60s at that time they were separated.

I used to think it was a possibility that they hooked up on occasion or kept in touch during their separation but it really doesn't seem like they had any contact at all.

I honestly don't remember! I kind of hated a few things in that fic so I couldn't stick with it, but I liked the idea of them being together in each other's dreams.

 

TFAW now says August 31. I'm wondering why it was delayed. At any rate, looks like we have to wait a while longer.

Very true, Darth Basin, I just wish they wouldn't make us wait so long. And from what I've read while lurking elsewhere (can't remember where now) Han Solo #4 and Han Solo #5 have also been delayed.

The thing is, it's not like Han and Leia had fallen out of love. They were still crazy in love in Bloodline and it was (painfully) obvious they were still very much in love in TFA. If you love someone that much, you just don't step out on them. And if Han had any hopes of reconciling with Leia, he probably realized she might not be so forgiving if he'd cheated. I could, maybe, possibly, understand one or the other straying if their breakup had been bitter and laced with animosity, but I really don't believe that to be the case. I feel pretty strongly that they most likely just drifted apart.

 

We can be pretty sure they didn't hook up with anyone else because 1) This is now Disney, and SW is a "family" franchise. and 2) Han and Leia are old in TFA, and we all know old people don't have romantic lives, or... gasp... sex! LOL. I hate to be cynical, but H&L's role in the reboot were basically as elder figureheads. I doubt they'd give us anything about their personal lives during their separation besides the occasional scene where one of them misses the other for a brief moment before going on as Scoundrel!Han and General!Leia.

Interesting idea, but I think I prefer the story as filmed. I kind of like how the little Ewoks with there primitive weapons save the day. And they do so because Palpatine didn't sense them as a threat.

I took this as there is a big theory stating that he's alive, not that Leia's going to die soon.

 

I wish that was true, but I do think Han's dead. It's only a matter of time until they're reunited, but I hope it's going to take a long time for them to be reunited. Leia deserves a long and happy life.

My headcanon for their Legends counterparts is that Han and Leia die together during their sleep, at a venerable old age. Leia feels through the Force that Han has died and decides to become one with the Force as well. I think it's bittersweet.

Man, that is heartbreaking.

On a happier note, I watched TESB yesterday for the first time in a little while, and their blossoming romance never gets old. It warms the soul.

 

I don't know about the rest of you, but, in my opinion, what's his face just doesn't exude the same kind of sexiness as Harrison Ford in the role of Han Solo. Absolutely no contest....I'm still drooling over the man on the left.

 

Alden's a nice enough guy, but I just can't see him playing Han. He's too baby faced, too cute. He needs to be smouldering and sexy and I don't get that from him. Plus there's little resemblance to our main man.

I feel sorry for him because he has huge boots to fill. Maybe he'll do a terrific job and us doubters will be proven wrong. I hope he does because I feel like I should be excited about Han movie, and I'm not.
