JCC Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

I think Ive just received a gravy transfusion.

 

The most precarious portion of the evening has begun: that delicate stage to which one fights off the dinner coma to make room for dessert.

 

Just started dessert.

 

Just finished the leftovers sandwich. I heard a great piece of advice recently which I did not employ, but it's to make a double decker leftovers sandwich and soak the middle piece of bread in gravy. If anyone else tries this, please report back with your results.

Well I don't do thanksgiving but this sounds like an awesome Christmas idea.

 

leftover smoothie

1 cup leftover stuffing
1 cup leftover gravy
1 cup leftover turkey
1 cup vanilla yogurt
2 cups of ice

add all ingredients to a blender. pulse for 30-60 seconds. drink. serves 1.

 

Well, I had forgotten how terrible most buffet food was.

I'm very pleased I don't have to roast a turkey tomorrow. I'm baking dinner rolls, doing roast butternut squash/sweet potato/calabaza squash with a cilantro lime sauce, and making a cranberry/pomegranate/pistachio relish.

just picked up our ready made turkey and sides meal.

Since our 4 year old only eats crackers and yogurt and our 2 year old will literally eat lint off the floor it doesn’t make sense to cook for just my wife and I. So we order from this marketplace restaurant.

 

Thanksgiving is the most communist holiday of all. Without the massive public campaign to convince people they should eat them, neither turkey nor cranberry would be very much consumed at all. Two whole industries are basically outright dependent on federal advertising riffs that are so thoroughgoing we literally declared them a holiday.

 

I got drinks for the party tomorrow. Soda and tea, anything left over I'll just take back lol

 

How thoughtful it was of the Native Americans to share their land and food with the Pilgrims so that they can all have a wondrous meal together. They taught us all how to be thankful and understood the true meaning of this day. And a toast to all the turkeys who have generously offered themselves as tribute so that their memory will live on in us all.

Well this Thanksgiving Eve I'm sick. Not COVID, I've tested three days in a row. But I do have a fever even with Tylenol. Ugh

Weighing whether I want to expose my elderly grandparents to my bad cold or whatever it is.

I'm watching the parade, and it's very windy. A couple floats have holes in them like the wimpy kid and One Piece Luffy one but are still going. Luffy hit a building cause of the wind. Also on this stream where someone is at on a street, one of the drivable shoes broke down. It's still there after 45 minutes causing everyone to move around it.
