Think about it like this with Vader, we know that he is still formidable as demonstrated in TESB, OWK, RO and "Rebels", but it is Sidious who has a low opinion of him. He would rather trade him in for a new model Skywalker, once it is suggested. And when that fails, he goes after the grandson. The Jedi would never discriminate one of their own who was like Vader was.

I like the original idea of Midichlorians which was a scientific way of explaining the Force and in a more realistic way but in TCW and the New Shows the Force returned to be something Mystical and Magical like in the OT
