He really should been the Conn Smythe winner in 2013. They also should have traded him a few years ago. Legendary Blackhawk obviously and hopefully like you i wish nothing but the best.

Odd time for the team. They have some really good young players and Toews/Kane still have enough juice to make another cup run but their goalie prospects are ehhhhhhhhh.

Yeah @heels1785 I feel the same way. Happy for Doc but god that well sucks as a hockey fan. Just truly fabulous play by play guy and honestly a wonderful ambassador for the sport. Like Vin Scully leaving, it won't be the same without him but like you said there is so many great calls by him you can spend perhaps an entire day going thru all of them on YouTube. Here is my perhaps my favorite though when the Blackhawks score twice in 17 seconds to win Game 6 against Boston and the Cup:





Now I biased obviously with that being my favorite call but Doc did say that was the best Stanley Cup final he ever saw.

 

Agree but I love for them to use Pat Foley as one of his replacements on the national broadcasts. He is just so fantastic as well though again I am biased.

 

It's official. Blackhawks are officially rebuilding even though they have not asked Toews, Keith, Kane and Seabrook to waive their no trade clauses:



First Doc retires and now this. I knew the Blackhawks would eventually have to rebuild but still BLEEP 2020!

 

If we get an all-Canada division in the NHL, it'll be the best thing to happen thanks to COVID-19 in all of sports. Even better if it sticks around permanently.

Blech, that would make for A LOT of late night hockey for the East/Central Time zone teams.

 

Oh, just inject all that Canadian team-on-Canadian team action right into my veins.

 

If the current rumour of a 56-game season is true then I don't think it's impossible, though probably unlikely, for Getzlaf to hit it. 35 points would be equivalent to 51 in a regular 82-game season, which I think he's still capable of doing.

 

I cannot think of anything I would want more for Christmas than an all-Canadian NHL division for this season.

 

2 weeks of Leafs/Habs games! I can dig it.

 

oof latest rumour that no Canadian division in Canada due to provincial travel restrictions instead they'll just banish the Canadian teams to fend for themselves in the US apocalyptic wasteland. (Government wants them to bubble in provinces for an entire season) Both the Raptors and the Blue Jays were banished to the US but taking all the Canadian NHL teams and just sending them down there would be a bit much.
