ST I Have A Bad Feeling About This - The "Haters" Sanctuary

You know, even the most zealous PT critics have averred that, at the very least, Williams's soundtracks were magisterial; the ST can't even claim that virtue. With scant few exceptions, the two scores are fairly standard. (No disrespect to the Maestro; he's pushing 90.)

This enterprise truly was a waste.

Yeah, redeeming in the same way that you can technically survive by eating out of the dumpster behind the local Red Lobster.

I agree. Comics should be a complement to the saga movie stories, not a substitute for them.

 

I think Rey's Theme and Jedi Temple Steps are actually up there with the best of the saga, but otherwise, you're right it's all bad. In a sense, John Williams is the ST's most significant and harshest critic. He is the one who's tasked with finding it's soul, a task he always completed spectacularly in the OT/PT, but with the ST it just wasn't there. There was nothing to inspire him.

 

Batman is beating up Superman. Superman says desperately, "You have to save Martha" (SM's mom, who Lex has kidnapped IIRC). Batman stops attacking SM and says "WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?" (since his mom was also named Martha). I got the intent... to humanize Superman to Batman and make Batman remember where he came from. It just was REALLY dumb and did not work.

Stupid, but IMO like Shakespeare compared to the Reylo kiss.

 

My guess is that out of the wreckage of the ST his six part Saga will rise again in the public psyche at some point.

 

I feel bad for the actors, though. They didn't deserve this, and it's definitely not what they signed up for back in 2014.

 

There goes Disney trying to make headlines for being straight up insulting.

This is the third time Disney has made this headline with basically bread crumbs.

Two unnamed female characters kissing in the background for two seconds that can easily be missed is not representation.

Just like Lefou dancing with a guy and then immediately cut away from is not representation.

Just like a Russo brother saying he has a date with a man is not representation.

LGBT people deserve representation with characters that have names and backgrounds and we are emotionally invested in.

 

I remember in TLJ when Luke tosses the lightsaber away like it's a piece of trash. The music just stops. Like John Williams literally didn't know what to do at that moment. Like he just didn't know where else to go.

TLJ never recovered from that moment so in a way the silence of John Williams reflected the moment to perfection.

Basically Superman and Batman are enemies and in the throes of fighting to the death. Batman thinks Superman is a danger to all of humanity, he is about to kill Supes with a kryptonite spear. Supes says to "save Martha". Bats freaks out "why did you say that name?" because this is totally his own mother's name. Once he learns the same is true for Supes, they become the bestest friends. In seconds. Over the commom first name of their respective moms.

 

Disney and their proxies are absolutely shameless in trying to exploit the LGBTQ community for movie ticket sales.

 

I’ve seen some of these scenes on reddit, wow just wow.

 

I wonder what Serkis's facial expression would have if he was cast Snoke and pitched with that he'd be playing a harlequin embryo.

Yeah finally got a chance to watch the scene of Rey’s parents. That might be emotional if any of the films were actually built around it and then if Rey didn’t pick some ahole she knew for two days to honor instead of them.

 

I mean, this was the same trilogy that cast Max von Sydow only to kill him off 5-10 minutes into TFA sooooo...
