Nah because the wayfinder is still on the Death Star. I don't think his body survived the Death Star

Honestly? Can't confirm that. There is NO explanation given for how his body might have survived, so maybe it was a clone and the real emperor has always been on exogul. But then why grow Snokes? Why wait 30 years to come back? It's whatever you want it to be, apparently. Until they put it in a book. And then that book gets overwritten.

I wish they just based the "road to exogol" part of the film around the gang attempting to get Kylo's wayfinder instead of all the extra nonsense they threw in on top of it. So much time was wasted on a dagger that doesn't make sense & a wayfinder that wasn't used that could have been better used elsewhere.

"Road to Exogol" makes me want a CGI'd Bob Hope/Bing Crosby teamup with Rey, Finn, and Poe in all its nightmarish glory

So let's talk about Snoke. Was he autonomous or was he a puppet of Palpatine?
If he was a puppet of Palpatine, why did he try to kill Rey, which is then established not to be in Palpatine's plan.

Also, since I'm here, Rey was supposed to kill Palpatine. She actually ends up doing it, so... in the Sith logic... this should be a win for them?
I'm having a headache. Better if I drop it here.

But we needed to establish that Poe is heterosexual. It was reallllly important!
I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but nobody can explain it, because we have no fluffing clue.

It's really no big deal either way, they'll just give it another shot in 30 or so years. Third time's the charm, you know?

Just have to get this off my chest...

Thanks to The Rise Of Skywalker, the legacy of the Skywalkers is one of failure & inferiority -

Anakin – He was billed as the Chosen One who would bring balance to the Force and destroy the Sith. Instead, he was seduced by the Dark Side and became a Sith. He was never the most powerful Jedi, and was never the most powerful Sith. He failed as a Jedi by turning to the Dark Side, he failed as a Sith by turning back to the light, and he failed as the Chosen One by not bringing balance to the Force and not destroying the Sith. His greatest accomplishment was saving his son from death. But that singular act of sacrifice changes nothing. It does not undo the damage, death, and destruction he inflicted upon the galaxy as Palpatine's glorified goon.

Luke – Sure, he blew up the Death Star in ANH. But that act did not destroy the Empire or the Sith. It was merely an inconvenience. Yes, he brought his father back from the Dark Side in ROTJ. But that act only affected his father, not the rest of the galaxy. He did not destroy the Sith. He did not destroy the Empire. He did not destroy the 2nd Death Star. The Rebellion did that. Luke was no match for Palpatine and would've been killed if his father hadn't saved him. His Jedi Academy was a failure. His students were either slaughtered or turned to the Dark Side. Ben Solo's turn to the Dark Side was solidified by Luke's actions when he failed to sense the good in Ben that was obviously there. Then he abandoned his family and friends and left them to fend for themselves against First Order/Dark Side. Rey literally shows up on Luke's doorstep, begging for help in understanding her Force powers. Luke knows she is a direct descendant of Palpatine. Yet he refuses to train her. When he finally does train her (reluctantly), he limits her training to just 2 lessons. Later, when he finds out that Rey is communicating with Kylo Ren, he allows her to run off to face him alone. Luke could've raised his X-Wing out of the water and gone to help Rey, Leia, his friends, and the Resistance. He could have confronted Kylo face to face and at least had a chance to strike him down. But instead he stays on an island far away, creates an illusion that poses no threat to Kylo, and in doing so commits Force suicide.

Leia – In ANH Leia is only a member of the Rebellion to over overthrow the Empire. Although it's successful in destroying the Death Star, the Empire is unfazed. In ROTJ the Rebellion is successful in destroying the second Death Star. While this does end the Empire as we had known it, the First Order rises quickly and easily. It kidnaps thousands of children, builds a massive military force, and builds a weaponized planet called Starkiller Base, which single-handedly destroys the New Republic. By the end of TLJ Leia's allies had abandoned her, and the entire Resistance could fit inside Millennium Falcon. In ROS, the Resistance doesn't defeat the Empire/First Order until after Leia is dead. Also in ROS, we learn that Leia was trained in the ways of the Force. But she quit because she wanted to save someone she loved, which was a mistake her father Anakin had made that lead him to the Dark Side. She never used her Force abilities to fight the Dark Side or to save her son. In fact, the only time she used her abilities was to save herself after an explosion that jettisoned her into space.

Ben Solo – Fell to the Dark Side. Killed his Dad. Killed lots of innocent people. Although he saved Rey from certain death in TLJ and TROS, Ben himself was no match for Snoke, Palpatine, or Rey. Like his Grandfather Anakin, his return to the light at the end of his life does not undo the damage, death, and destruction that he inflicted upon the galaxy.

Rey – No matter what she wants to call herself, she's not a Skywalker. She's a Palpatine.

None of the Skywalkers ever saved the galaxy. None of the Skywalkers took down the Empire. None of the Skywalkers destroyed the Sith. None of the Skywalkers ever defeated a Palpatine at any point in the entire saga. With Episodes 7 – 9, Disney changed the Skywalker Saga into the Palpatine Saga. Disney's new trilogy focused on Rey Palpatine and relegated the Skywalkers to secondary characters. They told us this new trilogy would be a continuation of the Skywalker Saga. But that was a lie. The entire Disney trilogy is built on a lie. And they wonder why we hate.

That 45 seconds for Connix makes me livid. That's a more generous time for Rose than I've heard, but still less than Zorii and Jannah. So wrong.

They don’t do a good job at making it clear but I took away that the ROTJ Palpitate did die and TROS Palpitate was the “real deal”. No ROTS deformities if you look at him, just old af.

Rise of Skywalker was a really messy, poorly structured and edited film. Ironically, i think some of this may have to do with trying to over tell or explain useless matters, when in turn whats really happening is the things which are of the upmost importance are under told.

-Palpatine is back because of lazy, uninspired writing. The answer? He found a way back through the use of the force. Simple as that. Disney wanted this film out on time, and their crew of writers and JJ--thats the best they could come up with.

-palpatine needs kylo to bring rey over, no?

-those ships could have been residing as a defense mechanism for the sith planet for who knows how long, no? If we roll with what these films gave us, and palpatine has a sith home planet(whether we like this or not is besides the point) a group of people like that would surely have some level of protection, yes?

-snoke? Palpatine made snoke. Thats JJ and Disney for yah.

-those hooded people i interpreted as sith spirits. Explaining that is unnecessary, though. Seriously when would that have been explained and by whom?

-i thought lukes x wing had something to do with finding the planet,no?

-way finders exist because fans are so into the extended universe that disney and jj probably thought it would be a good idea. Again it is what it is. No explanation necessary. They tell people how to get to places. Based on what we know about the universe, within film, it would be logical to think that these are devices which hold light speed coordinates to uncharted areas.

-ochiis ship is there because thats where it ended up. Whats the need for an explanation here, im confused. What benefit would that serve but to only add to an already messy film.

-why does it matter why Lando is still there? People scattered about the galaxy when the first Order and lukes jedi order failed. The same reason Han distanced himself. I dont know maybe he was wanted and fled to the outskirts like quigon says in TPM. Again, not important at all.

Why didnt Ochii look for Rey? She got away wasnt that the point? I thought the scene here was just meant as a quick "this is what happened", because the audience already knows she was left on Jakku and we hear that Snoke wants the girl, in TFA(kylo is also aware of some girl hes heard so much about.)

-was there a reason for them to know chewie was with others? I dont recall where the characters were. Didnt chewie go looking for rey, so he was by himself?

-kylo let rey leave? I thought she exploded a ship....and there has been a back and forth between these two characters throughout the trilogy, not to mention it being a focal point in tlj. It goes without saying that there is meant to be a question mark for the audience here, which we later learn she wanted bens hand, not kylos, and he ends up ridding himself of his dark nature. But this instant is meant to leave a question mark for the audience. How would having kylo explain this benefit the film?

-all those ships show up because of poorly written speeches. What were they again....something about not being scared and there are way more of the good guys if they all show up? Lazy writing but thats it.

As a friend of mine puts it, a journey of the three main friends = "Finn and Poe tagging along with Rey ditching them every two minutes to have a staring contest with Kylo"

What galls me is they literally could have just let Rose join the adventure with them and just be there. Because it's not as if she would've disrupted all the wonderful non-existent character and relationship development going on amid the """trio""" just by being there.

And really the movie didn't need the C3PO subplot or heck even the Chewie thing taking up narrative space. Not when the main characters are being so badly underutilized.
