Okay so I'm not a medical professional but I suspect it's just a local irritation and your body over-reacting to it. Sounds like what happens when I mow the lawn and my hands get a little swollen/itchy/weird feeling from the vibrating handle (I'm a freak I know). Try a strong anti-histamine like diphenhydramine (benadryl). If you have a topical steroid (ie hydrocortisone) you could try that too.
