Why do SW quotes feel the need to reference SW? I mean, would she spit on him if he was dying of thirst on Yavin? On Earth, we don't say, "If you were dying of thirst in the desert, I wouldn't spit on you," we'd say, "If you were dying of thirst I wouldn't spit on you." Why is it always necessary to add the SW references? Do they think we might forget we're reading a SW novel?

 

It's probably so they don't forget they're writing a SW novel.

 

Well,she was trying to convey to him how angry she was. Tatooine is a desert world that orbits two suns... So if she wouldn't help you on that world that you have tyo know she's really pissed.

Yeah, but dying of thirst is dying of thirst no matter where you are. Also, spitting on somone dying of thirst wouldn't do much, but that's besides the point.

 

By the way, has Jaina ever been on Tatooine?

 

it's just to give it a more star wars feel to it, and to set it aside from normal earth phrases...

 

Its just done so people can dissect it in forums for no real reason.

I know what you are saying, IATDS...but it does give the phrase more oomph. Like RF said...on a watery planet...its not the same thing, as on the desert planet of Tatooine.

 

Jaina has never benn on Tatooine to my knowledge.
