    And counting :p

I like heralric arts and I have found a page where I can find some illustrations of it that show some of the more different uses of symbols and animals I find it very nice and interesting, and if somebody else had shared it I would really have liked that. But I can agree that I probobly should post some other stuff for some post from now

Dead Radio of Alpenrose County by SirBronson on DeviantArt
    [IMG]
Alpenrose County is home to a remote industry town in Montana, Sioux Nation. Established by the "GoodMorning! Farms" cattle ranch company, an oasis in an otherwise abandoned wilderness that supplies organic cattle produce, highly sought-after by the few that can afford it.

However, seemingly overnight, the otherwise peaceful town and the surrounding areas had become, for the lack of a better term - haunted. Hostile spirits rise every night, terrorizing any and all they can find unlucky enough to be caught outside, all the while accompanied by an eerie signal overtaking the radio waves. Come morning, the haunting subsides, only to start once again when the sun sets. What brought upon this strange calamity and what can be done to stop it?

    William Gutenmorgen-Rising Moon

The acting CEO of the Goodmorning Cattle Company that owns the land of Alpenrose County. After submitting proof of his lineage and being granted tribal status at Sioux Nation's Blackfoot Tribe, he made the most of his newfound status (as well as the amnesty granted to him) to build Alpenrose County into the slice of the old world americana it is today. The company prides itself in its highly traditional and organic ranching practices that comes highly sought after by the Sixth World denizens with the bank to afford it.

    Sheriff by SirBronson on DeviantArt
    [IMG]
    Javier Monterrosa

Head of the Alpenrose Sheriff's Department. The department was established to handle minor disturbances around the residential areas, leaving the border patrol and ranch grounds security to Goodmorning Cattle Company's own private corpsec wing. As such, the department is more or less purely symbolic, if anything. Nevertheless, Sheriff Monterrosa takes his responsibilities seriously and is widely respected in the community.

The Witch by SirBronson on DeviantArt
    [IMG]
Margaret Louise River Stone - Proprietor of the only bar in Alpenrose - "Witch's Cabin" and one of the most beloved members of the community. Rumor is that she's also an exceptional magic user. How she ended up running a bar in the middle of nowhere is anyone's guess.

    Richie "The Legend" Johnston

A neo-glam-post-rock legend who retired to Alpenrose to start a local radio station. This strange passion project actually managed to catch on with the locals, making him another quite beloved member of the community. The Legend knows just about everyone and everyone knows The Legend. He’s somewhat of a voice and heart of the community with many of its members confiding and entrusting him with news, gossip and on-goings within.

    Rebecca Susan River Stone

Margaret's younger sister. She is in charge of running the local museum that showcases bits and pieces of the county's history and trivia. Kind of a mystery, only really keeps close to her sister. Word is that she's not too shabby at the arcane arts either.

Should have posted the undertext also:
In the distant future on the moon-based Kree settlement of Neo Fiyero, Battalion Commander Luu Narr had returned home to find his family being attacked by Skraven. Skraven were former Skrull slaves that escaped to the dark side of the moon. There they stole some of the Terrigen Mists from the Inhumans. Their prolonged exposure turned them into savage cannibals. Luu Narr and his family were dragged back to the Skraven lair, tortured and killed. Half alive, Luu Narr lay at the bottom of a crater, under the crushing physical and mental weight of his family. Slowly blurring the lines between insanity and sanity, Luu Narr came upon The Onyx Moonstone. Like it's mirror opposite, the Lyght Moonstone, it endowed the bearer with enhanced speed, strength, agility, and endurance. It also allowed the bearer the ability to phase and become intangible. The only difference being that instead of flight, the Onyx Moonstone bearer had the ability to Shadow Teleport. Luu Narr used his new abilities to slay the savage Skraven....then he found the mists. The mists returned him to a state of right-mindedness....but only for awhile. He took the mists with him. As he was leaving, he came upon a plot by Skrulls (posing as Kree) to breed the Skraven with the Kree. The plot was that the hybrids would keep the genetic structure of the Kree until a bio signal turned them into a mindless killing machine. Perfect suicide bombers. Luu Narr fashioned armor from his old combat uniforms. As Luu Narr began to prowl the dark side of the moon for Skrulls and Skraven alike, he gained a reputation, the local media calling him "The Moon Knight". Working with the Kree, the Inhumans sent in a task force to find the Moon Knight (They believed he had something to do with the missing mists). Luu Narr finds himself fighting insanity, the forces of evil, friend and foe alike. He is the Moon Knight!!

Hand Mortar by Qsy-and-Acchan on DeviantArt
    [IMG]
A little didactic blurb to show you how hand mortars worked.
Hand mortars were grenade launchers used mostly during the 17th and 18th century, back when early grenades were commonly used. They resembled contemporaneous muskets, with a wooden stock and a wheellock or flintlock mechanism, but had an enlarged barrel to accommodate their projectile. Said barrel was made of a powder chamber that flared up into a cup- or bell-like muzzle of the caliber of the grenade.
The grenade itself was similar to a simple hand grenade, with an elongated fuse going through a pierced wooden sabot that would ensure it would always be facing the powder chamber, which in turn insured it would be lit when fired.
Both hand grenades and hand mortars were fairly volatile weapons in these days, and were slowly relegated to extremely niche use by European powers.

    Beidana by Qsy-and-Acchan on DeviantArt
    [IMG]
Lil drawings of a beidana and a Maciejowski cleaver. The first one is an actual medieval weapon present in the archaeological record of a bunch of Alpine people, while the second is only seen in contemporaneous art and its historicity has been the subject of some debate.

African Throwing Knives by Qsy-and-Acchan on DeviantArt
    [IMG]
There are a lot of different throwing knife designs across Central Africa, and although they were used as weapons it was also definitely a way for blacksmiths to show off too.
