Villainous Avengers: Spiral by splaty on DeviantArt

The first member of my team of avengers based on villains that have turned into heroes.

Presenting Spiral, and not the way you know her!

In this reality, Spiral gained the powers of Red she-hulk.

Years ago, Spiral found Excalibur. When she did, she discovered that there was more
to the blade than she had been led to believe. The spirit of Merlin was bound to the blade!
He could only reveal himself to the one who wields it.

Merlin told here where she could find the Ebony blade, he believed she would
need both, to combat a great magical threat that would arrive sometime in the near future.

Present time.
Dr Banner(the Leader in this reality) came across an unconsious and wounded Spiral,
who had teleported into the desert from a losing battle against Apocalypse.

Banner kidnapped her, as he had done with several low-level superhumans to turn into an army of hulks!
Unaware of Spirals magical powers, Banner tried to brainwash her, which had no effect.

Tricking Banner, she broke free and tried to kill him, but he set loose his army of hulks upon her.
With the aid of General "Thunderbolt" Ross,she managed to escape the army of hulks.

She went to warn the Avengers of Banners plans.

When she returned with them to his base, it was destroyed. Banner and all the hulks where gone.

Spiral sensed that Apocalypse had followed her to this location and deduced that he had
attacked Banner shortly after she escaped. She doesn't think he killed him, nor
his hulk-army....

The villainous avengers teams story will center around an event focused on
Apocalypse, his horsemen, and an assault on Asgard.

The 2nd character of my Villainous Avengers story, the new All-Father: Doom!

In this reality,Stephen strange never had the accident that damaged his hands and caused him
to seek out the ancient one.
Instead, Victor Von Doom became the apprentice of the ancient one, eventually
becoming the next sorcerer supreme.

Though a "good guy", he still has the arrogance and pride of his regular counterpart.
Deeming to keep details of import a secret from his allies, due to them "not needing
to concern themselves with it".

While not a member of this avengers team, he has helped them frequently.

Due to Doom's integral part in the endgame, this is skipping ahead greatly in the story.
1st part here: Spiral

Doom is the one who warned the Avengers of Apocalypse's imminent attack on Asgard, but
claimed he himself did not have the time to assist them against this threat.

Having merged with the Destroyer armor, Apocalyse and his four horsemen
assaulted Asgard and manged to defeat Odin(plot details to be revealed in the next
characters story).

At the moment of Odins death,as all seemed to be lost, Doom appeared and seized his power.

With Odin's divine power at the disposal of the Sorcerer supreme, Doom magically tore Apocalypse
from the Destroyer and saved the heroes.

Doom had manipulated the avengers, keeping his intentions of absorbing Odin's power a secret.
He could have appeared at any time to help Odin defeat Apocalypse. Instead he waited, waited
for us to reach the point of no return.

Furious with dooms deception, but thankful for his intervention, the heroes agreed to leave,
bitterly.

Asgard was saved,all hail its new All-Father!

Spiral couldn't help but wonder: Did Doom plan all this?
It all went so...perfectly for him.
Apocalypse had never before shown an interest in conquering Asgard.
Did Victor, with his enormous magical knowledge, plant the idea in Apocalypse's mind?
He had often done questionable things for the sake of the "greater good".
Did he orchestrate all this so he could seize control of Asgard AND be viewed as its savior?

If he did, was Doom the magical threat Merlin had spoken of, when he led her to the
Ebony blade?

Thor and Loki's parts in this story will be revealed later.

His appearance is meant to represent Odin, the wealth of Asgard, and the symbiotic
influence of Doom's knowledge and power merging with that of a god.

This is the 2nd member of my alternate avengers team,where villains have become heroes, and part 2 of the story.

In this reality, Mystique had become a member of the X-men.
She joined after she sought the help of charles Xavier to stop her son nightcrawler,
who had been raised to believe he was a demon.

Also adopted Rogue, but raised her well.

The loosing battle against Apocalypse that Spiral had teleported away from,
was fought alongside the x-men.

Spiral had appeared to aid them, after she learned of his planned attack.
With his three current horse men however, they where overwhelmed.

They are Man-thing: horseman of Pestilence. Hydro-man: horseman of famine.
And Rogue: horseman of Death!

At the sight of rogue,the x-mens morale sank.
Having lost Jean grey and Xavier to the Phoenix 3 years ago, and now Rogue to Apocalypse...
their friends are slowly being taken and turned against them.

They where defeated,the Xavier insititute destroyed, and the surviving
members scattered as Apocalypse pursued Spiral.

Mystique went to the Avengers in hopes of assistance in defeating Apocalypse, and saving Rogue.

The current iteration of the Avengers(before the assault on Asgard) has 5 members:
Captain Skull, Ultron, Thor, Venom and the Mandarin.

Once there, asking for help, the Sorcerer supreme: Doom appeared.

He informed them that Apocalypse had just begun an assault on Asgard.

There they saw what had happened to Dr Banner.

Turns out, the reason Apocalypse pursued Spiral, was because he wanted to turn her into his Horseman of War.
Instead, he found Banner, and his army of hulks!

With his four horsemen, and the Destroyer armor, he had all he needed to win!

Mystique came along with the avengers to Asgard, they soon split up to take down the horsemen,
who themselves had split up in order to prevent the bulk of asgards forces from helping Odin.

She soon ran into Loki, who told her how the Destroyer armor fell into the hands of Apocalypse.

Rogue had used her power to extract the knowledge of the destroyer from lokis mind.
Its location, and how to use it.

Knowing that Loki had become more heroic these last few years(even helped the X-men on
several occasions) she chose to believe him, and accept his help.

Before they went after Rogue, Loki wished to retrieve the spear of odin from asgards vault,
claiming it would be needed in a battle like this.

Mystique and Loki reached Rogue just as she fought Thor.
Fought, and killed!

Filled with rage at the death of his brother, loki attacked.
Mystique, who could not believe it had come to this, knelt next to Thor.
She knew Rogue most be stopped, at any cost. She touched Thors hammer,
and then...picked it up. Worthy.

Together, she and Loki killed Rogue.

After taking a moment to grieve, they rushed to aid the avengers against Apocalypse.


With Thor dead and Asgard having no trust in Loki, it seemed they would not
get access to its castle in time.

But since mystique now wields mjolnir, she simply shapeshifted into Thor,
and ordered the asgardians to allow the avengers and Loki entry.

After the battle, Doom showed kindness to the heroes,by reviving Rogue!
Now restored to her former self, freed of Apocalypse's influence.

While Mystique officially joined the Avengers, she would spend much of her
time searching for the surviving members of the X-men, alongside Rogue.

The most questionable member of my Villainous Avengers team:Loki. God of mischief.
This is part 3 of the story.
Loki was exiled from Asgard years ago,and has for a long time been trying to redeem
himself, to be accepted back into Asgard by his father.

After a battle took plave on earth involving several heroes,Asgard and a celestial,
the Destroyer was lost.
Loki had found it and hidden the Destroyer armor,and kept it safe for years.
But if he was so intent on redeeming himself,why did he not retutn it to asgard the moment he found it?
Perhaps he wished to use it to play savior sometime in the future.

So how did the Destroyer end up in the hands of Apocalypse?

Rogue,who had become the horseman of Death, used her power to take Lokis memories,and learn of
the location of the Destroyer. With it, Apocalypse was ready to assault Asgard.

Loki entered Asgard before the Avengers and witnessed the beginning of the assault.

He saw the horror of Pestilence and famine working in unison: Famine slowly drained
the water from their bodies, as pestilence bombarded them with the worst diseases in
midgards history.

He hastily made his way to the vault of asgard, planning to retrieve Gungnir,the spear of Odin.

He encountered Mystique on the way to the vault,who agreed to help him, before they both set off to hunt down Rogue.

Unlike Mjolnir, Gungnir has no worthy-ness enchantment on it, meaning anyone can wield it.
And while it has similar power to mjolnir, it does not bestow godhood upon anyone,the physical body
remains as frail or as strong as before.

Loki and Mystique witnessed Rogue drain the life out of Thor.
Filled with Rage,Loki attacked.
While a god,and armed with Gungnir,he had little hope of defeating her alone.
To both his and Rogues surprise, Mystique had picked up Mjolnir,worthy to wield its power.

As the hammer hit her head, Gungnir pierced her body, killing Rogue.

With both Thor and Odin dead, and Doom on the Throne, Loki saw no reason to strive to remain in asgard.
With Mystique vouching for Loki, he was allowed to join the avengers...under observation.

As they left, loki was seen branding a sinister smile...

Part 1 Spiral

Villainous Avengers: Apocalypse by splaty on DeviantArt

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST. The meaning of this sums up the character of Apocalypse.

The antagonist of my villainous avengers story.

His horseman of Death, Rogue, extracted the knowledge and location of the Destroyer armor from Loki ,
who had hidden it on earth.

After aquiring it, he used celestial technology to merge with the destroyer.
With it truly having become a part of his body,and with his four horsemen,one of them commanding an
army of hulk-mutated animals and humans,he was ready to assault Asgard.


The strongest force in the universe, is desire(not counting gravity ).
And no desire is stronger, than the desire for purpose.

With that in mind, one could consider En-Sabah-Nur lucky. Purpose found him.
The purpose to evolve,to guide evolution. Survival of the fittest.

His involvment with mutants have been pretty straight-forward in this regard.
But why go after the gods? Why attempt to seize Asgard?

Was it simply taking the concept of "survival of the fittest" further?
To see who truly deserves to rule? ...no.

This idea was planted in his mind...by an unknown entity.
Spiral suspects it may be All-Father . He seemed to gain the most out of this.
New ruler of Asgard, viewed as a savior by the asgardians.

But perhaps Doom simply took advantage of the situation,perhaps there is yet an unseen hand responsible for this...
But what could "they" stand to gain by doing all this?
What is a greater prize than the power of the All-father,and the throne of asgard?

What indeed...

Venom: Villainous Avengers by splaty on DeviantArt

The 4th member of my villainous avengers team: Venom! Who in this case is Mary Jane!


Peter wore the venom symbiote when he was killed by a team of villains,led by Norman Osborn.
It went to mary jane with his corpse.
They both mourned Peter and they hated Osborn, what came next was obvious: Revenge, united.

Venom was out searching for the two last members of the team that killed Spider-man, when Skull contacted her.
Skull informed her of the assault on Asgard, and though she first seemed somewhat reluctant to call off her
hunt to help,she quickly rushed to aid them when she heard that one of the horsemen was Hydro-man!

When they reached Asgard she quickly told the team she would go after Hydro,before swinging away.

She came across her target,surrounded by asgardians. Though being gods,they where slowly faltering, as Hydro(now Famine)
drained the water from their bodies.

As she swung in, it quickly became apparent that Hydro could not drain the water from her, not from the symbiote.
Its physiology is simply too alien for his power to work on it.

She encased him in the symbiote,then pulled out a small glas orb. An orb that can be filled with an enormous amount
of water. Given to her by the Sorcerer supreme: Doom , at her request when asking for items to aid her in
the hunt for the villains that killed Parker.

Once sucked into the orb,she whispered "now you shall know lonliness", before flinging him out into space!

Of the villains that killed Spider-man only one remain, Doctor Octopus.

A techno-organic version of Natasha Romanoff, who wields Mjolnir, Excalibur and guards the Soul gem.

In this reality, Natasha has been wielding excalibur for several years.
The mythical sword that can cut through anything!

A Techno-organic Monstrosity had been infecting people, asserting its overriding will over their transformed bodies.
The human host revealed itself to be Mordu, an old sorcerer from Dr Stranges past.

Strange had attempted to use the Soul gem to pull Mordus soul out of his body, it would have left
the monster bereft of his mind and magical knowledge. But Mordu was prepared and it failed.

Stark developed a new armor based on a strain of the Techno-organic virus that he altered.
The plan was to use this armor to deliver its strain into the core of the monstrosity, causing both
strains to break down as they attempt to assimilate each other.

But Mordu attacked before Stark had a chance to use it.

just before Mordu infected and transformed them, Natasha used the Gem to pull in the Souls of Thor, Dr Strange and Stark!
While Mordu now controls their bodies, their souls are absent along with their minds.

just as she was about to be transformed aswell she used the soul gem to transfer her soul into
the experimental technarchy armor Stark had worked on.

The armor, able to shapeshift into any desired form, under the influence of Natasha
it transformed into a techno-organic version of her body!

Her new body can increase and decrease its mass like a symbiote, repidly regenerate and form complex weaponry.

Mordu, in his state of madness, did not realize what had happened, nor that the Soul gem was present.
He left for the Dark dimension, believing his victory to be complete.

She picked up the gem and attatched it to her new body, gaining its power and keeping
the souls of all those inside it with her.

Through Thors soul within the gem, she is capable of wielding Mjolnir.


The two enchanted weapons react to each others magic, causing their powers to course through both.
Excalibur gains the ability to generate an enchanted form of lightning as well as being able to fly back
to its wielder.
Mjolnir becomes indestructible and gains the ability to lethally wound immortal beings!

With this she was ready to attack Mordu, with the hopes of breaking down the virus that keeps regenerating him,
then to kill him with Excalibur.


As she purged the virus from Mordu, one of the five symbiotes managed to escape before the virus was purged from it...it remains in the dark dimension

A very magic-centric Spider-man!

He has entered the Dark Dimension in pusuit of one of his oldest foes: The Goblin-Wraith!

the thin enchanted armor on his right arm was constructed for the purpose of channeling his soul into a weapon!
it forms the blue soul-sword he holds, unlike the red sword, the blue one is purely magical and has no physical presence.

The soul-sword can only harm those off ill-intent, those who seek to harm him. All others it will simply pass through.

The red, cursed sword is influenced by the wielders anger and desire to kill ones enemies.
The greater the desire, the stronger it makes the wielder...and have a greater chance of influencing their mind.
He wields this against his better judgement,believing it necessary to defeat his foe.

The coat was given to him by Dr Strange. It offers some defense against magical attacks, curses and makes the wearer capable of
withstanding the vacuum of space, aswell as produce oxygen should it be needed.


And yes, those swords are inspired by Souledge and Soulcalibur
