    Norse designs by Skadi-09

"Some character designs of some Nordic characters:

High King - The King of all the lands, king over kings

Vitki - A witch that specialises in runic magic

    Thrall - A slave: unpayed worker/labourer

Jarl - A governer/leader of a city or smaller community. (Women Jarls were more often called countesses, but I like Jarl a bit better)

    Warrior/Bjorn - The bear, a warrior/hunter

Viking - A Norse raider and pillager, known for invading places and stealing stuff

    Shield Sister/Maiden - A female warrior/soldier in battle

I hope I got all the stuff right, Im kinda new to actual Norse history (Im more into the mythology). Also, the shield sister and thrall are my Skyrim OCs, Torunn and Noma. Except Noma is more of a beggar than a thrall. "

    Villain Spawn 1 by WhiteFangKakashi300
    [IMG]
"I'm not a big fan of the Descendants series. Some of the characters do some questionable things and the canon villains feel like jokes.
To combat my nerves, I wanted to take a swing at the concept of Villain's with children to see how I would do it. The Villain Spawn, where it's centered around the Disney/Pixar villains and their children. All villains are judged by rank: Magic, Intelligence, Strength, Fear, and Popularity in their stories. It is up to the spawn to fill their roles, choose friends and foes wisely. But not all Spawn have to meet the ranks to be seen as good.

    Jason:
The reclusive son of Madame Medusa and Snoops. Jason was an often quiet and misunderstood boy, always loving creatures would were equally misunderstood as he was, ranging from frogs, salamanders, and of course alligators. They were an escape for him in the swamp whenever his parents fought in the beach house. He was used to the constant nagging and lashings from his gorgon of a mother. At times he'd be put to the task of petty crime. Wearing his masks to steal jewels and cash. He didn't care about those things, he just wanted his folks to stop yelling at him. His best buddy was his pet alligator, Caligula, a hatchling from Brutus. Though intimidating in appearance, the chubby gator mostly loves feasting on hotdogs. But he'll rise up to defend his best friend. Jason hopes one day Caligula will be so big and powerful, his mom won't boss him around ever again.

    Agnes:
The studious if not mousy daughter of Edgar. Edgar was not a particularly high ranking villain as far as everyone was concerned. So much so his wife had left him and his daughter due to there being hardly any money. It broke his heart, but he still had the apple of his eye to watch over and dote on. Agnes loved her father, of course she did. But at times she felt embarrassed being smothered by his lovingly dopy quirks. It didn't help her father was so much against having pets in the house after his experiences with both cats and dogs. So Agnes had to settle for plushies and beanie babies to satisfy that itch for furry critters. For one of her birthdays she was given Lotso Bear. She loved him very much and would share her secrets to her teddy whenever she was troubled. Like how much she had a crush on Jason but he seemed so shy for her to speak to him. Or how much she wished to be a higher ranking spawn, then maybe others would stop picking on her and breaking her glasses. She was bullied most of the time for not possessing anything grand in magic or scary. After all, who was scared of a girl who loved stuffed animals. Lotso listened, though he had his own views on owners after being abandoned once before he had come to really like Agnes and pitied the girl. During a meltdown he broke his rules as a toy and hugged her back. It took Agnes by surprise her toy was alive all this time. She tried convincing her friends, Renee and Betty, he could talk and walk, they just thought she had a hyperactive imagination. One day, Agnes was being picked on by one of Gaston's sons, 3rd, and he hurt her badly. Lotso had enough and leapt from her backpack and pounded the spoiled brat of a boy. Alas he was just a teddy bear, and Gaston 3rd wasn't going to get his butt handed to him by a toy. He cut into his strawberry scented belly and ripped out his stuffing until he stopped moved right in front of Agnes who was left in a mess of tears and bruises. Renee was stunned she had been telling the truth and brought them both to Seth, the Horned Prince. Seth was no stranger to bringing things back to life, but this was a first bring a toy back to life. He stuffed Lotso's belly with fluff and added a totem before sealing it all up with a charm. Seth had made it so Lotso was not only good as new, but he could change into an actual grisly bear in both size and features if he wished to protect his owner again. Agnes cherished him, the two would act like a team in challenges to come.

    Renee Frollo:
The surprisingly compassionate daughter of Judge Claude Frollo. Her mother, Juliana, had died giving birth to her, leaving Frollo widowed. Regardless little Renee became his pride and joy, being one of the few pure things in this world for him to love and protect. But on one fateful day when Renee was learning how to ride a horse she had an accident that left her paralyzed from the hip down. Frollo was devastated and grew extra protective of her, he had lost his wife and so much more in the past... he couldn't lose his daughter too. At times Renee felt like she let her father down due to her new disability. But he reminded her he didn't care for her to grow up to be just like him, so long as she had a good education. He had seen so much darkness in the world it would be a shame for his own daughter to be claimed by it too. So long as she stayed determined and wise there was nothing she couldn't do amongst the spawn. But he warned her, she must choose her allies wisely. Not all spawn are to be trusted. But for a case like hers, she was better off with strength in numbers, seeing as she wasn't magically gifted or strong.... much preferring to grow plants for alchemy than go out and commit crimes. This left her under scrutiny with other spawn. What sort of villain planted flowers??? She was often mocked for her disability and skills, going so far as to shove her out of her chair at times. Her rank as a villain spawn under one of the darkest villains meant little to others unless her father was around. Still, she didn't give up. Instead she reached out to outcasts who seemed just as lost as she was. Starting with Agnes and Betty. But there was one outcast that no one dared to approach, and Renee had her eyes set on making him her friend.

    Seth the Horned Prince:
The abomination of flesh and bone born from necromancy under his father the Horned King. He had no mother for his flesh came from everywhere, brewed in the iron womb of the black cauldron. Such necessities like food or sleep were optional to an undead prince like him. This made comprehension to the wants and needs of other spawn very alien to him. His soft, low, monotone, voice would unnerve those around him. His mask concealed the decaying skull face underneath, easily terrifying a lot of the spawn in the training grounds. He personally did not care, that meant they didn't bother him and he was free to do whatever he pleased. That is until Renee dared to approach him. The gesture was as simple enough as sharing her lunch with him. Seth was stunned someone was treating him so nicely, such quality were looked down upon by his father. But that only made the prince more drawn to the young girl in the wooden chair. He didn't mind her disability, to him her mind was a sharp as an executioner's blade. Though he didn't quite understand why, but he found himself really liking Renee. So much so he'd defend her from her bullies. Her human acts left him fascinated and yearning for more knowledge. This did not suit well for The Horned King, it felt as if his son was growing too soft while being in the company of mortal spawn. Frollo wasn't too pleased to find his daughter spending more and more intimate time with this hell spawn either. But neither could care, Renee confessed her love to Seth and Seth wasn't going to let her go.

    Betty Slim:
The headstrong daughter of Alameda Slim. Slim was by far one of the lowest in the ranks. He wasn't strong, smart, scary, or popular. His only power was yodeling at cows to do his bidding. He was a laughingstock amongst the villains. But his baby girl wasn't gonna settle for such a low rank, she was gonna surpass her old man in all the ranks possible, and he was cheering her on all the way. His tale was through, he could only help hers along. Betty didn't yodel like her pa---- hell nah- she played her guitar and was damn good at it. But she knew being musically gifted wasn't going to get her higher in the ranks. So she consulted De La Cruise who convinced her to attach an enchanted talesman to her guitar. With it, anytime she's play with it on, the sound waves would make the wind so sharp it could slice a mountain in half. While striding on the back of her long horned ox, Blue Grass, not too many spawn dared to challenge her unless they were looking for a bad time. However, despite her ambitious mission to boost her rank, she'd always be down to have some good rough fun. Drinking contests, arm wrestles, music competitions, boxing, you name it she was down for it. Coming from an underdog background she couldn't help but stick up for some of the little ones among the spawn. Renee and Agnes grew to be her closest friends in the beginning. Betty was the type of girl to knock a jerks block off if they were acting like an ass in front of her buddies, an insult to them was an insult to her. But at last she had met her match, Shey Yu, the stoic daughter of Shan Yu. She was a skilled wrestler and warrior and refused to let anyone marry her unless someone could best her in a wrestling match. Betty Slim was in love already.

    Marie Laveau:
The cunning daughter of Dr. Faciler. The third Laveau in their lineage after the great Voodoo Queen under the same name. Marie wanted nothing more than to honor the family name and become the next Voodoo Queen with the help of her friends on the other side. She was a sassy and charismatic girl, taking a liking to hair styling along side her work as a fortune teller. She'd make deals with villains and spawn just to get a head in life. Anyone was fair game to her. She'd pull massive ceremonies at night, chewing on hot peppers and preforming a dance to be granted aid of spirits to help change people's fait. She could be everyone's best friend and worst enemy and no one would really now. Her daddy couldn't be anymore proud of her. Marie was growing up to being the most cutthroat of the spawn through her master manipulation. She was so much like her ancestor, even naming her pet python "Zombie" and wearing him around her neck like a scarf just like the original Marie Laveau did. The one down side was for all her efforts to be just like her great great grandmother, she was sacrificing what made her herself. But the thirst for getting that same kind of fame and recognition was too great of a reward to give up on. After all why be yourself when you can be someone even greater?

    "More new spawn! Enjoy

    Princess Scarlet:
The bratty and entitled heir to the thrown in Wonderland under the Queen and King of Hearts. Scarlet is a chip off the old block, taking after her mother and her short tempered manors. If she is denied something-- lord have mercy on your soul. Being a princess running on her special brand of logical illogical she makes sure no one puts a toe out of place under the threat of word being passed onto her mommy and subsequently losing their heads. This however makes it hard for her to keep real friends without having to buy them for the sake of having playmates or someone to go to the Blood Moon Masquerade with. though sort in stature she is much older than she appears to be, being 12 years old but has the voice and body of a 5 year old. Still, that doesn't discourage her from setting her eyes out for cute boys she likes, mainly being Gaston Jr, Gaston 2nd, Hugo, Damian, and of course Prince Siegfried. Anyone who dares pursue her boys are in deep trouble.

    Shey Yu:
Shan Yu's cub. Shey's mother Jade was kidnapped by raiders when she was toddler. Though Shan Yu desired to have a son, he still accepted his daughter and taught her all the skills of his trade if she was to work together with him. The way he saw it, she was still his flesh and blood and should still have that same killer instinct and colossal strength. Shey Yu was die hard loyal to her father, they bond through training. She became especially proficient in wrestling and fighting. A rule for her was that no one could marry her unless they proved themselves worthy in a match with her, no magic, just pure brute strength. No one could meet her match, not even Gaston's triplets could do it. In her youth she was attacked by a snow leopard and she managed to kill it with her bare hands. However she then saw this beast had a starving cub hiding in the snow. Instead of putting the orphaned cub out of it's misery, she took the cub in as a pet where she trained and fed it to be her loyal partner. She called it Shira. Shan Yu was impressed, he allowed the snow leopard to join so long as the beast remained loyal to her and kept her safe, any rule breaking and Shire would be made into a cloak. But the beast was faithful to her mistress and would protect her from potential threats. Being a strong mortal spawn, Shey Yu became fast friends with Helga and Clayton's son, Hugo, a boy who was gifted in hunting and martial arts. They two would compete and train together, he too had a leopard for a pet, Sabor's cub Jiro. Together they were unstoppable. It was later down the line when she crossed paths with the feisty cowgirl, Betty Slim. At first she was expecting her to be a rival of sorts, seeing how eager she was for challenges. But then she noticed the way she'd look at her... It became very clear to her she didn't have a rival on her hands, but a suitor.

    Prince Siegfried:
The spoiled son and heir to the Evil Queen, Grimhilde. The Evil Queen had sold her soul to the demon Chernabog in return of securing her thrown and demonic powers of witchcraft. Under a stormy night of passion, Chernabog became the father of the dark prince, but he was absent through much of Siegfried's life. The young prince was praised as the fairest male in the land by his mother, who would go about showering him in gifts. This made Siegfried narcissistic and he'd constantly look down on others around him who were not as beautiful or powerful as him. One of the few friends he had was a gift from his mother, a young arrogant fawn named Ronno who was spared from Gaston's hunts in favor of being the royal stag for the young prince. Grateful for no ending up with his head on a wall, Ronno would go about inflating Siegfried's ego, they two had a lot in common as far as views when. Siegfried would keep him safe, and Ronno would be his best friend forever. Though Siegfried felt like he could have whatever he wanted, he couldn't help but feel there was one who was greater than him. His half brother Damien, the son of Maleficent. A bitter jealousy kept brewing in his heart every time he crossed paths with his half sibling, he given more blessings by their father, Cherabog. He was more magically gifted and high ranking than he could ever compete with and it drove him nuts. No one should be better than the fairest of them all....

    Carlos De Vil:
The sassy transsexual son of Cruella De Vil. Carlos loved and adored his mother, his father Sykes was absent in his life and he was fine with that. Nothing was going to stand in his way on his journey to be fabulous. Like his mother, he's a fashionista and knows good quality when he sees it. Taking his mother's teachings to heart in regards to running the family business. He flaunts his feminine mannerisms freely and will kick anyone's butt who tells him not to. Carlos is a party animal and loves flirting with all kinds of men. Unfortunately he's the type who doesn't take no for an answer and can get hostile if rejected. Memo to all villains and spawn, never mess with the Beauty Queen.

    "Saida and Sayid:
Jafar and Azarah's children. Jafar always wanted a son to carry on his power and legacy, so as a result his first born daughter could never earn that same respect and attention. She was incredibly gifted at magic, a performer, so much so she could turn into a mythical Roc, giant bird of prey. But still, she wasn't good enough for her parents Saida would grow bitter and act out, putting others down cuz she couldn't have when her younger brother had. Sayid on the other hand was not gifted in magic at all, despite his magical lineage. What he lacked in magic skills, he was gifted as a thief and escape artist. He and his parrot, Indigo, would work together in pulling off schemes. Anything he did gained praise from his father, all except for one crucial thing... Sayid can't bring himself to kill anyone. Hurt and trick, sure. But never kill. He was well aware of his sister's envy, but it almost seemed nothing he could do or say would change anything. In fact it made everyone angrier. So he grew distant from them in favor of his friends, Shey, Hugo, and Saundra. Going on crusades pocketing treasures.

    Damien the Prince of Darkness:
Maleficent's young prince. Being the number one highest ranking foe of the spawn, Damien didn't have to stress over his status in the villain pecking order. His mother was strong, respected, and loved him fiercely. He himself took after her in many ways, right down to being able to turn into a dragon at will. As a result of his laid back attitude, he enjoys watching what other spawn do to try and upgrade their rank. Particularly the ones at the bottom like Renee Frollo.
Life for Damien would seem to be at a glance a villains dream come true. Power, talent, intellect, magic, he seemed perfect. He was the son of Chernabog…. Or was he? No one knew the truth that night, not even his own mother who pursued the devil of Bald Mountain, knew the truth. Cherabog held another him inside, a light side, Bellobog. The polar opposite to his dark half, an extremist half that strove to extinguish their kind. In the darkest of nights, Damien would burst into light not feeling like himself and he couldn't control it.

    Krishna, Durga, and Shiva:
Shere Khan and Kali's cubs. Durga was the older sister of the triplets, she was strong and would do anything to keep her family save. If she needed to die fighting, she'd do it all in the name of them. Shiva the blood thirsty one of the triplets, the middle cub. He was cunning and short tempered, he would want nothing more than to fight anyone who was asking for it. Last was Krishna, the trickster cub. Unlike his siblings who prided themselves on battles and responsibilities, Krishna preferred to go through life like a dance. Anyone could be a target to screw with, particularly folks that took things far too seriously. He liked messing with them, pulling strings to spread chaos to keep things interesting among the spawn. Anyone knew better than to trust him really. Unlike Scar who appeared to be hands off with his adoptive cubs, Shere Khan loved his cubs. He'd go out and teach them how to love the thrill of the chase in hunting. Seeing as he only had his grand mother growing up, he wanted his cubs to grow up strong and clever if they wanted to survive. His mate, Kali would make sure of that. The white tigress was conniving like her white furred son, and fire didn't frighten her like it did Shere Khan. Humans were seen as game to them, and the harder one fought back the more worthy of an opponent it would be for them.

    Princeton:
Dawn Bellweather's lamb. His mother loved and protected him with her life, she instilled her personal beliefs onto him about predators. Her time in prison didn't change her mind. But it only made Princeton more fearful of others. He was a sensitive soul and not the strongest or highest ranking spawn. After all, he was an anthropomorphic sheep, possibly the least intimidating villain material out of everyone his generation. Others dubbed him "crybaby". He found solace in spawn like Agnes, being able to relate to the struggles of a non-magical type or being more sensitive than what was acceptable. He grew so attached he started having a crush on her. But it seemed hopeless cuz he was a sheep and she was human. That anxiety of inadequacy triggered something in his head to where in stressful situations he were turn savage. Princeton would go on all fours and charge blindly at others with tears streaming down his face like war paint.

    Plutus, Zagreus, Macaria, and Melinoe:
Hades and Persephone's sons and daughters. The two gods had complicated relationship, half the year his wife would join him below in the underworld, the rest above with his mother for the harvest time. Persephone was the yin to Hades's yang, only she could calm his hatred and anger. Their four demonic children lived with their father in the underworld, only rarely seeing life above in Mount Olympus. Much like their father, they were not well liked. Once account, Zeus blinded Plutus, rendering the god of wealth to no longer tell the difference between who was friend and who was foe. He was the youngest of the siblings and hot tempered like his father. He was materialistic despite not being able to see and he was able to fly when his legs were crippled. Plutus was adaptable to his surroundings and was not one to be reckoned with on the battle field. The oldest was Macaria, she was her father's right hand man and would have to go about sticking her neck out for her siblings. It irritated her, but she knew she'd never hear the end of it if her brothers or sisters never came back. After all, she was a goddess of death and would take up the helm in the underworld when the time would come. Her sister, Melinoe a polar opposite. She was the goddess of nightmares and loved causing chaos. Seeing others scream in terror brought her joy, but it would often get her into trouble if she wasn't careful. This got on her father's nerves often. But she was a party animal and she wasn't afraid to show it. Last was the oldest son, Zagreus was a bit of a 'wise guy', taking after his father's business style of making deals and smooth talking. He was charismatic for a god of the underworld and lesser god of wine, he was often mistaken for Dionysus, which annoyed him greatly. The four of them had a complicated and often times dysfunctional relationship all seemed to prefer competing with each other than working together.

    Spawn 4 by WhiteFangKakashi300
    [IMG]
"Last one for the new spawn---- the rest are the canon spawn like Kovu, Vitani, Nuka, Cassandra, Anastasia & Drizella--- etc.

    Hugo and Jiro:
Helga and Clayton's militant son. Coming from a family of bounty hunters and assassins, it was no surprise their son would take after their trade. Since the age of four he had been trained to master multiple forms of combat and material arts, much like his spy of a mother was. His favorite weapons to use were machine guns, snipers, and samurai swords. His father Clayton would have him accompany him on hunts where he discovered a leopard cub in one of his traps. That cub, was the son of Sabor. Hugo insisted to keep the cub alive and named it Jiro, keeping him as an exotic pet and a replacement for a hunting dog. Jiro's mother was killed by Kurjack and he hadn't seen his father in sometime. As a result the cub grew more trusting and accustomed to the presence of humans. Word of the spawn with the African leopard got around, his rank was growing. He was soon teamed up with more promising spawn in his generation: Saundra, Shey Yu, and Sayid. The quartet would spar together and compete for ranks. Hugo was a boy of very few words, and hardly ever smiled. He was goal oriented and would take items from his opponents as trophy's.

    Saundra:
Mordu's heir and Merida's bastard. Saundra was not recognized as a legitimate heir to the throne and was forced into exhale with her father. The bear king and his cub worked together in the wild to survive with no army and no kingdom. They were close, and Mordu taught her how to fight, hunt, and take care of herself. Saundra found Grizelda the witch, who had given her father the bear spell to use against his brothers. With the threat of the rogue Princess hacking up the wood carver witch's lair, she agreed to give her a cloak made of the skin of the giant bear of DonBroch. She tailored the skin to fit the blood thirsty princess and dipped it in her cauldron, if worn Saundra could change into a bear at will for battle. When she chose not to use her magical form, Saundra would use her battle axe. She grew skilled in wielding it, much like her mother was with her bow. The bastard princess vowed one day she'd return to claim what she believed was her rightful throne. In her eyes her mother and all the people in the kingdom were dead to her, just as she and her father were dead to them.

    Disturbia:
Oogie Boogie and Jeepers Creeper's sassy daughter. This unholy beanbag of bugs and all creepy crawlers of life was made by the Boogieman and Boogiewoman of Halloween town. Disturbia never got to see the land she was made in for they were forced to evacuate, instead she became more at home in the Shadowlands amongst the spawn from many famous villains. It was her time to shine and make her mark to make her folks proud, she was a high ranking foe yes, but only thanks to her high ranking father. She was hoping to finally do something herself. She was always mocked for her weight or her freaky looks, so making friends became difficult. However, she soon found Marie Laveau, Faciler's daughter, and Melinoe, Hades's daughter and goddess of nightmares. She became a welcome addition to the team in regards to her spell concoctions, brewing up wicked drafts of all sorts so long as spawn paid her in grubs. Live ones preferably..... Lord forbid you gave her dead bugs, for you would soon regret it.

Gaston Jr, Gaston 2nd, and Gaston 3rd:
Gaston and the Bimbette's sons. After failing to acquire Belle, Gaston settled for the three Bimbette sisters, Laurette, Paulette, and Claudette. They all loved him death and would give just about anything to be his wife. So, being the ladies man, Gaston figured the more the merrier and married all three sisters, giving them each a son to bear. First was Gaston Jr--- or Jr for short. He was the strongest of his brothers, blonde and beautiful much like his mother. But he was not the brightest. Arguably one could say his determination and reckless bravery landed him in trouble than out of it. He was the type to never back down from a challenge or admit failure. After all, he was Gaston Jr, he never loses! He'd often embarrass himself and be unaware of it depending on what he was tasked to do. Baby sit a baby? He'd do it! Stick his head in a beehive. He'd do it! Kiss a guy---- You bet your ass he'd do it! Carlos learned this first hand and fell madly in love with him. Jr, as usual would be unaware he was being hit on.
Gaston 2nd--- 2nd for short, on the other hand was the cleverest of the brothers. He was a ladies man and would flash his charm to the female spawn he deemed worthy of him and his beautifulness. He'd often be the one saving his brother's butts when karma came back to bite them as well as be the masterminds behind conducting schemes. He knew he wouldn't get some of the respect his older half brother would get, being the second born thus second best. So he was willing to go distances to out do his older doofus of a brother. His baby brother he'd put down, he wasn't going to let the runt of the litter out rank him. Besides, he was an overachiever, a wienie, a blithering idiotic weakling. He himself on the other hand was sophisticated and classy, hanging out with the likes of Prince Siegfried, and Zagreus. He would not settle for second best.
Last was Gaston 3rd.... 3rd for short. It wasn't like Gaston hated him, no. They were his strapping boys and he loved them since they all reflected himself.... It just so happened 3rd never really could hold his father's attention for long before getting stolen away by his older half brothers. He wasn't the strongest, or cleverest.... He was the fastest. But that didn't seem to matter sometimes if he couldn't have his cake and eat it too. To his brothers he was often ignored or belittled, 2nd being his biggest rival. He was just a shrimpy, snarky, dork. Didn't have those amazing set of muscles his father or his brothers possessed. To cope he found solace in his black husky dog, Louis. They'd go on hunts together during their family outings. Jr rode a grand white Clydesdale, 2nd with an elegant black stallion with a white stripe on his nose. 3rd got the most stubborn horse his father could find. He believed his young son could easily tame this rebellious brown horse in no time... after all, he is Gaston 3rd! But the stubborn horse would embarrass him and throw him off. 3rd was sort of the butt of his family's jokes, 3rd place so to speak. He hated it. Friends outside his home was Nuka and Jason. He wanted nothing more than to prove his worth to his family. But until that day happens he was stuck having his schemes getting knocked down like a house of cards.

    Levi:
Sort of Leviathan. Ursala's lazy frat boy son. Levi was descendant of the Kraken, but no one would know it from his laidback attitude. He was high ranking enough, but with the top place going to Damien, he felt like he didn't need to prove himself anymore with his best friend up there. So he'd spend his time at his own accord, games and food. He was strong when he wanted to be, but he honestly didn't really care. Coming up with schemes for people just to tear down seemed like a big waste of time to him. This angered his mother tremendously. He was not honoring his family's name in the slightest it seemed. It would irritate Levi with her constant nagging and pushing to start making bargains like her, it felt like everything had to have a catch if he was going to be in on it. Often times he was a heckler and joker among the spawn, getting people to like him just to pass up on a potential fight. But he was no pushover when people came looking for a bad time with him.

    Amber and Isabelle:
Hans's twin daughters. Their mother suddenly died giving birth to them, which forced the nurses to perform a C section to save the twins. As a result neither are dubbed the older or younger sister, just twins. Both acted and thought nearly as one-- jinx! JINX AGIAIN! Hans adored his daughters, they were the only family he had left after distancing himself from his older brothers. He wasn't afraid to partake in some of their girly antics. Candlelight tea parties being a big one, next to bedtime stories. A family of foxes in their run of a kingdom. The sisters were hardly ever separated from each other, whenever they were they'd grow incredibly anxious or depressed without their twin. By appearance the twins appeared identical, minus the eye color. Green for Isabelle, blue for Amber. Made it easier for Hans to keep track of his baby girls. What many people didn't see was that Isabelle was the twin calling the shots most of the time, while Amber followed her. The two of them could come off as your best friends only to dump you for someone better. It was no wonder they ended up being trapped as best friends of Princess Scarlet along side Saida. They'd act like polite little girls in her presence, on their heads be it. But they grew to dislike their toxic friend. One fateful day, Isabelle was stuck down with a sickness. Amber was forced to act on her own and seek help from someone she didn't treat nicely in the past. The crippled judge's daughter, Renee Frollo. She knew she had knowledge about herbal medicines, and with some convincing Renee forgave her and helped heal her twin.

Nightfall in the Small Kingdom by PenUser
    [IMG]
""The Kingdom of Lechar is by far the smallest of the Island Kingdoms, not much more than a rock jutting out of the Great Sea. No more than a hundred or so people live on the small island at any time, living off the sea and limited trade with the Continental Empires. During the imperial civil wars, the Lecharans also raided the Continent along with the other Island warlords, resulting in a large number(by Lecharan standards) of slaves captured and taken to the island. Currently the Small Kingdom has been at peace for nearly a hundred years, and continues to be largely ignored by its larger neighbors because of its good defences and the very limited loot to be obtained by raiding."

    Hi!

Another quick colorwork on a sketch. I wanted to draw a really small island settlement with a fantasy style to it. There's a sort of viking vibe to the houses, but I drew inspiration from many sources on this one. There are different kinds of buildings to be seen on the island- a blacksmith, the keep(or simply the watchtower), the warrior's hall, boat shed, lighthouse and a drydock along with many houses.

Ispirational music for this piece was this Vangelis' piece from Blade Runner: www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5iO2J…

Rani Indira Kshyatriyapati of Jaganvanshi Rajputs by Gambargin
    [IMG]
"This Drawing is Outdated - Please see the Updated version in the Gallery Folder of Women Warriors of Historically Wrong Sketch Series: Medieval Revisited

Rani Indira Kshatriyapati of Satara - Queen Regent of Maratha, vassal of Jaganavanshi Rajputs.

A more detailed presentation (and more anachronism) of the Indian Female Warriors by combining the style of Marathi, Mughals and Mauryan attires with a little artistic touch.

Historically speaking, it was not uncommon in ancient and medieval India for women warriors to be found. From the epic of Mahabratha, to Indian Independence, some of the most renowned battles are fought by Indian women.

The epic of Mahabratha tell of Chitrāngadā, one of Arjuna's wifes, who lead her father's army to save her kingdom from marauders attack. Besides the ancient legend, heroines such as Rani Lakshmibhai, Ram Pyari Gurjar and Umadevi, are immortalized for their military proweress.

As for the character depicted in the sketch, Rani Indira Kshatriyapati is a fictional character based on the ruling dynasty of Maratha Empire, the Chhatrapatis from the House of Bhonsle belonging to its founding father Shivaji raje. The reason why Maratha was chosen is because of its romantic depiction in Indian history.

Many empires have existed and co-exist in Hindustan, streching as far as afghanistan and baluchistan. Few have succeeded in their legacy of conquest, while others dissapeared into obscurity, but back then, the lands were fought by the indians, and few foreign invaders managed to venture deeper than what alexander did. It was not until the arrival of timurids, that everything changed.

Their subsequent invasions led by Babur established the Mughal Empire, which became the sole uncontested ruler of India, using her wealth to furhter fuel their ruler's ambition. Many smaller kingdoms and states fell under the Mughal might, but the Marathis resisted, fought and was triumphant in their victory against the "foreign ruler" of India. It was them, who held that India was to be ruled by their kings and princes whose blood runs deep to the ancient rulers of Hindustan.

    INTRODUCTION

The History of medieval India may not get as much coverage as compared to its ancient Mauryan counterpart as well as the later Mughal period, and even if it does, this period is often overlooked. The disintegration of Mauryan Empire lead to the founding of numerous subcontinental Indian empires, feuding with each others while at the same, saw the flourishing of its Dharmic religions, like Buddhism, Hinduims and Jainism, both in their respective art, science, literature and culture. But the later period was also marked with the invasion of numerous Turkish-Persian forced and established the numerous Rival Turko-Persian Indian Sultanates in the northern part of the subcontinent, plagued by war, death and destruction, especially at the hand of the Timurids.

    DRAWING COMMENTARIES

Representing India in the Historically Wrong Sketch Series has always been a challenge for me, because generalizing it into a single united faction is rather difficult and perhaps, pretty anachronistic. There is no single define culture as "Indian", because the people of the subcontinent are diverse in their language, culture and identity, each one pride themselves over others, for they were once part of the many ruling dynasties and Rajas that had ruled the subcontinent for thousands of years. So for the sake of generalization, I will stick with the North-Indian in this drawing, thought in a historical sense, she would be a Gurjar.

Women Warriors and Rulers are no strangers in Indian History, from the times of classical literature in Ramayana, to the rulers of Dynasties and Warriors that fough side by side with the men, India has plenty of them recorded, like Rani Lakshmi Bai for example. As such, it's not really inaccurate of anachronistic to represent Indian Women Warrior in the Historically Wrong sketch. She is Maharani Indira of the Kshyatriyapati Clan, a powerful ruler with many subjected under her rule. She is drawn with a highly stylized mail-armor with mirror plate, as well as other ornament decoration that symbolizes her status and wealth.

She is a re-sketch of the original Indian Women Warrior in the Historically Wrong Sketch Series, Rani Indira Kshyatriyapati of Jaganvanshi Rajputs, the first few women warriors that i drew and posted in my first week after joining DA. In this drawing, she is portrayed wearing a Chainmail Hauberk and abdomen plate attached to it, with mail construction consisting of mixed irons and gilded links. The depiction combines the indigenous hindustani style with mixed of turko-persian construction

    "HISTORICAL COMMENTARIES

India, a place revered for its rich cultural diversity as well as wealth is certainly no stranger in the eyes of many people of the world. Their diaspora extend to even the furthest corner of Africa, Heartland of Europe, the many nations in Asia as well as throughout America, whose people have commanded many important positions in the modern history of mankind, from large multi-national corporations to some of the world's most influential global organizations. What is now one of the emerging global superpower, her history is also filled with powerful empires that rivaled those of Rome, China and Persia.

The history of medieval India is as intriguing as any other part of world. One can consider that the in this period, the Indian culture flourished, it's literature reached new heights, with science and learning awed by even the Chinese and the Muslims. When the Gupta empire collapsed in the 6th century, India was divided into three Major Empires (and other smaller independent kingdoms). These are the Gurjara-Pratihara that ruled the north and north-west, the Rashtrakutas that ruled most of central west and south, and the Palas that ruled most of North-East, which forms what scholars have pointed as the Kannauj Triangle that lasted till the 10th century. They had conflict with each others, but otherwise the re What interested me about India in this period is the religions that flourished during this time. Hindu, Buddhism and Jain coexists hand-to-hand with each other, although each followers are divided into many different sects, their relation were mostly friendly, if not cordial, with very very few violent episodes, Unlike the christian and the Muslim world at that time.

On the other hand, this period also saw a new foreign power that tried to invade the subcontinent, like that of alexander centuries back. The Ummayads Muslims, after conquering the Sassanids Persia, set their eyes towards Hindustan for their lucrative trades and immense wealth. Although the invasion was halted by the the combined force of the Indian rulers, the Arabs managed to bring Islam to many of the Indus region in Pakistan, converting it into the Sultanate of Sind, establishing the border of the east to the the farther east.

As the time passed on, Many of the large ruling dynasties fell due to internal turmoil, and subsequent Muslim invasions by Turks in the northern-western part of the subcontinent had created many short-lived independent Turko-Persian dynasties, notably the Delhi Sultanates of Mamluk, Khilji, Tughluq, Sayyid and Lodi, contesting for powers with their neighbors. It was also this one of the most violent period, especially during the conquest of Timur. He invaded many of the independent Indian Muslim sultanates, and executed many of the Hindus in his conquest, although, Timur was famous for indiscriminately executing tens of thousands of captives, both Muslim and non Muslim. As for the southern part of India, being far from the northern border where many foreigners came and invade the subcontinent, the region flourished with trades and became stabilized under the Chola Dynasty and subsequently the Vijayanegara empire, becoming the patronage for the Tamil culture and language, as well as leaving a long lasting legacy to both its people, and influenced many of the South-East Asian ruling dynasties at that time.

The turning point of the Indian History in this period came with the ambition of one turkic ruler from central asia who descendent from Timur himslef, Ẓahīr-ud-Dīn Muḥammad, or better known in the history as Babur. What started as a small ruler of Fergana in Uzbekistan, He would later launched his invasion of India, defeating many of its Rajput Rulers and successfully established the Mughal Empire, an empire that would later ruled most of the Indian Subcontinent, mirroring that of the great Maurya Empire."

    INTRODUCTION

Hindu, Buddhism and Jain coexists hand-to-hand with each other, although each followers are divided into many different sects, their relation were mostly friendly, if not cordial, with very very few violent episodes, Unlike the christian and the Muslim world at that time. Although the Arabs did tried to expand into the sub-continent in the 8th century, they managed only to gain Sind and established their Islamic rule over the region. It was not until the rise of Turko-Persian dynasty, whose origin came from the migrating nomadic Turks of central asia who converted to Islam, that the conquest of the sub-continent saw its largest extend in the middle ages. These turko-persian warriors were generally very violent towards the Hindus whom they saw as polytheist. Massacres of the local population ensued, whose temples and shrines were razed and looted; much to the protest of the local Muslims who had co-existed peacefully with the Hindus. Such destruction however, was nothing new; earlier Indian Hindu dynasties committed genocide on the local population both during war and peace time while at the same time, imposing harsh social caste on the population. The Turko-Persian Muslims were more lenient as compared to their neighboring Hindu rulers, but their violent rule ended up creating various large but somewhat short-lived Muslim Sultanates of Northern India from 11th - 15th century until the arrival of Mughals.

    DRAWING COMMENTARIES

The completion of this drawing is meant to coincide with the celebration of Diwali, a special day that is celebrated in all India and their surrounding neighbors, including those who are overseas. I wish to all my Indian friends, happy Diwali! Frankly speaking, there is one famous powerful Indian woman warrior by the name of Razia Sultan in the era.....maybe this is what she would have looked like [IMG]

Anyway, going back to this drawing, this sketch depicts a northern Indian woman warrior, dressed in a heavily stylized Indo-persian arms and armor that is found in many art, from the chronicles of Timur (Tamerlan) produced by the Timurids in the late 15th century, to the early miniature painting of the Mughals, as well as the Shahnameh produced during this timeline. Much of those depicted however, are purely based on my historically inspired artistic license, such as the gilded rivetted mail with partial plate, or simply plated mail, which became highly popular in India, especially in the northern region in the late middle ages (and beyond). Her helmet is perhaps of a simple dome construction, though the feathers resembles that which were adopted by the Turkic people of central asia, who late established their turko-persian sultanates of northern India. Her armament is perhaps a generic indo-persian style, often found in many depictions of the era.

As for the characters on the left, the on kneeling is depicted as a typical Indo-persian/Turcoman noble warrior, whose helmet, decorated garbs and overall fashion, are inspired by the paintings from Timurnama. Technically speaking, he could either by a nobleman from Persia/Afghanistan, or from the neighboring Sultanates of India in the 15th century. On the other hand, the man behind him is depicted as either a Bhumi (native Indian) or perhaps a local Indo-Muslim, dressed in the typical turban as well as the simple clothing. Technically speaking, he would smear Turmeric all over his face, a mark to show the willingness to die in battle. In the background, several men of mix attires can be found, cheering at the defeat of their opponents, taunting our Maharani to bring justice to him. The architectures however, is based on the late Medieval Islamic Indo-persian style, which in this case, based on Qutub Minar in Delhi."

"King Alexander III of Scotland died in 1286, and his daughter, his only heir, died just four years later. The two main competitors for the throne were Robert Bruce and John Balliol. The Scottish Templars feared civil war would break out between the two sides, and so they arranged for their tyrannical ally, King Edward Longshanks of England to just claim Scotland under his rule instead. Making bribes and threats to several Scottish nobles, the Templars and the English had complete control of Scotland by 1291, despite protests from former competitors. Over the next few years, the English lorded their power over the Scots. And it would eventually become too much for the Scots to take.

Revolts broke out against the English by 1297, heavily influenced by the Scottish Assassins who sought to win back freedom for the Scots. One Assassin, a warrior named William Wallace, led the Scots through several victories, such as the Battle of Stirling Bridge. Wallace continued to lead the Scots into an invasion of England itself, which the Templars tried desperately to fight off. King Longshanks himself led several fights against the Scots, and continued to order advances against them until 1304. Things only got worse for the Scots and the Assassins when William Wallace was captured and executed by the Templars in 1305.

Robert Bruce’s grandson, Robert the Bruce, continued the fight afterwards. By 1307, he had managed to swing many Scottish nobles back to their side, and they rebelled further against the English. He was crowned King of Scotland by 1307, and won a major victory in the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. And by then, the Assassins’ major ally, King Philip IV of France, had annihilated most of the Templar order, and thus they lost their ability to keep up the fight in Scotland for long. By 1328, Robert the Bruce had invaded England and a treaty was finally signed between his men and Edward III of England, recognizing Scotland as an independent nation and recognizing Robert the Bruce as its king.

However, after Robert’s death, the Templars plotted again to take Scotland back. Their allies in the Scottish nobility whom the Assassins had discredited quickly planned an invasion. And throughout the 1330s, the forces of Scotland and England would be constantly waging war against each other trying to claim control of the Scottish throne. The fighting slowed when the English got caught up in the Hundred Years War with France, and when the Scottish economy started failing because of the fighting, and things had calmed down relatively by the time David II, son of Robert the Bruce, took back the Scottish throne in 1341. He started leading invasions into England in 1346, but he was eventually captured and imprisoned. The Assassins managed to get him out in 1357, but they quickly found that the King had become much more corrupt after he returned to the throne, and so they cut their ties with him.

Scotland was left in a major economic struggle after that, but at least they had managed to end the war in victory. They remained independent from England, and the Assassins worked tirelessly to rebuild what the Templars had torn down. They found it to be a bit easier after what King Philip had done to the Templar order, but there was still much work to be done. With so many other problems to deal with across Europe, they would soon find that despite their victory, they were still caught in a dark age."

"Been doing some more historical research, and I started looking a bit deeper into Australian history. I feel like there's some pretty decent settings for an Assassin's Creed story. Perhaps the Assassins would back the Aboriginal tribes who were trying to save their lands from the invading English Templars. And perhaps they'd also get some aid from the convicts that were sent to the colonies and shunned by general society. I dunno. I think it sounds cool."
