IMPS The Relentess Teaser Online (formerly TROOPS 2)

Well....it's a little past even May 5...but I totally understand postproduction hassles. I had a DVD project that went down to the burning phase 5 minutes before class....that sucked quite a bit.
For future reference BSS, don't give out an exact date for the expected release for the future chapters. This might save some broken hearts by fans! Anyway, if we want to see the chapters, we're going to check back at your website anyway...anywho, just some thoughts...

Hey everyone,

Just a quick update. Foley editing is nearly complete. Currently waiting for the edited dialog OMF with three or four additional lines. Then a couple of quick music cues and we're done! If it's not done this week, I'm going to claw my eyes out.

Whats the name of it by chance, asuming it's not an original creation by your crew?

All of the music in the Teaser and the upcoming Chapters is original and is composed and performed by Andy Garfield. Thanks for your interest!

/EDIT/ There is one small exception that will be addressed on the site upon release of Chapter One/EDIT/

 

That exception wouldnt happen to be the COPS theme used in the first Troops, would it?

Unless you guys are trying to avoid a cops parody again and are just trying to make it a documentary.

 

So - we are now into the next week. Does Andy still have his eyes?

Seriously - any idea of when Chapter One is going to be released? I am really looking forward to seeing the job you all have done, based not only on the teaser (great job of combo of marine commercial and Arnold's suit up scene in Commando - hehe), but also on the great production artwork that is provided on your site. It leads me to expect great things.

If the first chapter is still not done yet, are there any other details concerning the first episode that you can tell us about to keep us sated in the meantime? For instance, what/where is Davenport Gateway, etc?

 

Does Andy still have his eyes?

Listen up folks, because this one comes straight from the top.

Rest assured that any delays right now are for the good of the whole, and that your patience will be greatly rewarded.

As for Andy, he has been moved to an undisclosed, secure location where he has been barred from any contact with the out side. A diligent, around the clock security detail has thwarted several attempts by Andy to remove his eyes...keeping him in acceptable working condition. Command has determined that for the good of the project, it is best that his eyes stay right where they are. However, we are keeping the eyelids propped open with ceramic toothpicks until this portion of the work has been completed...After which, he will be allowed to rest for a period of time.

Please stay tuned...At this point we are now looking at hours, not days.

I am looking forward to this as much as the next guy. But, I'm getting quite tired of seeing this thread bumped only to explain that there are more delays.

To all of you who have been so patient with us (and by US, I mean ME) - the wait is finally over.

Yesterday, May 17, 2005, 6 years of labor and toil finally began to bear fruit. "IMPS - The Relentless, Chapter One" was completed around 19:00 PST. The rest of the night, files were transferred from one hard drive to another, the final Divx file was created, and around 0500, the transfer to our ftp began. By the time this is posted, it will be complete. Imperial Upload Speeds are pretty slow for some reason.

Here at Blacksheep, we talk a lot about the "Bigger, Better - Whatever." No doubt that it was at work here with this project, as every setback and obstacle happened for a reason, often not to be revealed until years later. It seems that there must be a reason that it took this long, pushing our release date to that of the final Star Wars installment. It was certainly not our intent.

As fate would have it, access to our newly accquired UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH high speed backbone server will not be available until sometime this evening, resulting in the official posting of Chapter One right around the same time that millions of fans across America are reading the the Opening Crawl for what some may think is the last time. But they would be wrong.

The spirit of Star Wars will live on in the hearts of it's millions of fans the world over. The avidity and passion expressed in Fan Films will keep the flame of Star Wars burning bright forever. It is our "Cantebury Tales", our "Illiad". It is timeless. And while Star Wars may be the vision of one man, it is the dream of many.

We hope you enjoy "IMPS - The Relentless" as much as we enjoyed making it. Check back to the Chapter One page later tonight around 2300 PST. We're hoping it will be up by then.

Talk about a tease. I just went to the IMPS site and got all excited because instead of the link to the trailer, now it has a link that says "CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD CHAPTER 1 NOW!!" Following that link takes you to the Chapter One Download page, and another link saying click here to d/l.

Of course when you finally get to the end link, it says "Please be patient...access granted soon"

Talk about getting someone's hopes up!
