Superb seeing how they discover the active volcano and how they strive to keep it dormant. @};-

This is a nice story about how they could live near a volcano and thrive. And yes after a volcano errupts there are grey leaves. I have seen that on Java during the erruption of the galungun. Bandung was covered in grey

Eek! I love this collection so much, and am so glad to see it continued! :D

Let me play a bit of catch-up and tell you how much so . . .

Those Who Would Reap the Harvest: The Tale of the Tribe of Orriorr
These descriptions continue to be gorgeous! [face_love]

I love how they still judge these new aspects of their planet by the trees - with the trees being few and far between, and between the roots, etc. It's a very Wookiee way to take in the world, even in a valley plain. [face_thinking]

Oh, lookie there: chyntuck! This made me smile to see the chyntuck back at its humble fanon origins. [face_love]

Aw, that is truly a blessing - and where I have to say, again, that I love how animals manifest as wardens and guardians in your Wookiee mythos. It just fits! Imagining the space!bees and the butterflies and the birds here was all sorts of delightful. [face_love]

This is a most fitting name. [face_love]

Did I have to tag every quote with a [face_love]? Why, yes, why yes I did. ;) :*

Those Who Would Follow the River: The Tale of the Tribe of Kepitenochan
This was a very interesting addition to this collection, as you went back to the Scourge of original stories. I was very much drawn in by the idea that even a cursed creature has the right to live. The People gave, and of course the children of the Scourge took - but that wasn't the end of it. They could have called it quits and good riddance when they forced the enemy back to the Shadows. Yet instead they took pity and showed compassion and negotiated - which is such a Wookiee thing if ever I heard one! I really appreciated the moral lesson in this story just as much as the world-building. [face_thinking]

This is a most apt recognition. [face_love] =D=

Those Who Would Redeem the Desert: The Tale of the Tribe of Truvvhhurr[/QUOTE]
I know that I am quoting a big pull, but I love, love, LOVE the idea of how the Wookiees would react to the dessert. It's such a contrasting image - imagining a people of the trees and a dessert, but of course they would come upon this barren place and decide to nurture it through its dry seasons until the rains come again. Land of Fading and Renewal and Tribe of the Living Rains, indeed! This tribe is one of my favorites yet! :D

Those Who Would Settle the Apex: The Tale of the Tribe of Northaykk
Aw! I loved seeing the People of Wawaatt mature and cautious, while still keeping their adventurous and daring spirits. [face_love]

This reminded me so very much of Tolkien, again, and in the best of ways. [face_love]

I was fascinated for every word of this ficlet, again! Because of course Kashyyyk has poles, and of course the Wookiees have explored every part of their home; it stands to reason that they would have an arctic tribe too. I loved the imagery here, of the ice floes and the half light and the snows and the Beacon to guide them. It was all so vivid, and took on an even more vivid quality - if that makes sense? - due to the mythic proportions of your prose. =D=

Those Who Would Hold Back the Fire: The Tale of the Tribe of Maarwraawroo

    OOH VOLCANOS

. . . said me upon seeing the title of this vignette. Again, what struck me most in this story was that balance between creation and destruction; light and dark; life and death. The mountain gives and takes, but it is able to give because of its taking - it's a fascinating push and pull that resonates with the Wookiees' greater world-view, to beautiful effect. They're here to keep the fire within its bounds, not extinguish it completely, and nurture the forest when those fires do come. =D=

Plus, I just adored your prose for this segment too - I know I say for all of these pieces, I apologize if I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but it's all just *chef's kiss* goodness. ;) :*

Ooh, the Tribe of the Grey Leaves! Of course they pick a name that is right between, in true Wookiee fashion. This was one of my favorite tribe names yet.

Excellent work on completing the Spring Bingo board, that said! It's always a delight to have this challenge come around; I love seeing what comes from it, and these stories are no exception. This entire series continues to be wonderful, and I can't wait for more! [face_love] =D=
