Is George Lucas Jewish, or is he Greek? or BOTH?

After watching Master P's visit to the Skywalker Ranch, I concluded that George Lucas is a big ol pimp.

George is not Jewish, he is not greek, his father was a non practising jew, therefor GL is not Jewish, take it from someone who is jewish. And Judaism is not a way of life or a nationality or a race, its a religion, pure and simple. No arguments, that means you, yes you, remove your finger from the post button, thats its, back away.

 

I recall reading somewhere that he came from a Lutheran background.

How can someone be half Jewish? You believe half the Jewish stuff, and not the other half? That's not technically Jewish, that's just confused.

Anyway, I think Lucas tries to keep close to the vest what religion he is, maybe to avoid offending people who don't share his beliefs.

As to him being Greek in ethnicity...well...he COULD be, but I dunno. If he is, I might make my friend Nina a SW fan after all...

If judaism is a religion, then one cannot be half of one. That goes against what a religion is. If you were to consider jewish a race or ethnicity then you can consider someone to be half jewish. However since there are so many different ethnic groups amongst jews, you cannot consider judaism to be a race.

 

You can be half Jewish. It's a religion and a culture. It's not a race or nationality. You can have a parent who comes from a Jewish family and another who doesn't.

 

I just have one thing to say, does it really matter?

While my mother came from a jewish family and my father from a greek orthodox i dont consider myself to be either religion because i am an agnostic. However i am of greek, latvian, albanian and austrian heritage

well, I like to think I'm both vege and fruit families. The fruit side would be strawberry, rasberry, nectarine, and banana. On the vege side, mostly spinach, cabbage, and green beans, I think.

I always thought he was non-jewish. Either way, I know that he has some Christian beliefs. Or at least he studied it. Christian symbolism is in all his films.
