It seems no one is talking about Viqi Shesh (RS spoilers)

I think that Alston wrote her death well. He pretty much broke her down to a little child and then taunted her by bringing the ship back full of people that want to see her dead. Then when the vong commander came, every person she's backstabbed came to bite her in the a$$. I think her death was well written and it was a good way to get rid of her, instead oh Lah just killing her.

 

Hell, I'm glad that she's dead. I wish that it was at the hands of that warrior.

 

how can suicide ever be considered honorable? I would always choose life over death.

 

While I wished that some jedi would go dark side on her a--uh, butt, her death was in keeping with her character. She was obstinate and thought of herself as the only one that mattered. There was no way she was going to let anyone besides her choose how she would die when everything else looked hopeless.

 

Allston certaionly isn't Stackpole. He doesn't have the habit of writing a character dead then bringing them back. However, this is one time I think he might have done so. I hope she's dead, but I have this terrible feeling she'll survive.

She's dead and good riddance. She sure was nasty and villanous, but she was no Thrawn. Now THERE was a villian...Anyway, back to Shesh, it was exactly the kind of death you would expect of someone like her. Giving no one else satisfaction (although I suspect Mara was delighted anyway), and doing absolutely the least honorable thing possible. Selfish wench. Although she is the prettiest character in the New Essential Guide.

 

Dude she splatted all over a bunch of ferocrete miles down. She's done for. The Jedi feelinh Jacen "die" is a bit different cause he's a force user. He can PROJECT that feeling to them. Viqi isn't force sensitive. She can't say, as she falls...
"Ah I'll fool them all. Stupid Jedi. I'll just make them think I'm dead by thinking it VERY VERY HARD!" Then she splats all over the ferocrete. Luke feels it. And mara shrugs with contentment. Nah, she won't be coming back. Though I don't think the Jedi or Wraiths would have killed her had she been taken with them instead. She would have been imprisoned definately. But unless Mara went Darky on her, or Jaina for that matter, or even Leia, or...well, you get the picture. By the way, anyone get the feeling Kell may be Force Sensitive?

 

I like the way she just went for it when she was cornered. Viqi knew it was the only way. She couldnt let those unworthy Vong or Jedi finish such a noble Kuati.. (cough, cough).

She got what she deserved she was a terrible woman.

Yes on the Kell thing. He did pick up on the force activity that Face didnt. I like Kell he would make a lively Jedi.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it mention she turned and looked before she said no one could kill her. And then she jumped. Shesh is someone who wouldn't do a thing like that unless she had an ace up her sleeve. Keep that in mind.

 

I inferred from that statement that only Viqi Shesh could kill Viqi Shesh.

it had me rolling in the aisles, or it would have done if my house had aisles.
i'm not plaesed with the way they got rid of viqi, she was a terrible person and someone should have had the pleasure of decapitating her.

 

Knight I doubt she could make 2 Jedi masters and "think" she killed herself. It said they felt her die I believe. Will reread the book later to be sure, but she wasn't force sensitive so she couldn't float down, she couldn't make 2 jedi think she died. She's dead and gone.

I got that too Bib, that only she could kill herself, no one else could.

 

Its not like she was a vital character, she won't be back.
