Welcome to the January New Stories Index for the Beyond the Saga Board!

This Index will be updated daily with new fan fiction stories from this board, and at the end of the month all of these stories will be combined to make a master list, along with fics from both the Before the Saga and The Saga Boards. Keep in mind I?m on EST, so if you posted a fic, and don?t see it on the index; check the day previous or next day?s index posts to see if it was a victim board time vs. real time (for me anyway).

I'll be maintaining this Index. If you've got any questions, please feel free to send me a Private Message. While I will be checking for new stories as often as I can, you?re welcome to send me the information for your fic via PM.

Challenge responses will not be indexed as they are to be included on the Fan Fiction Master Challenge Index Threadlocated on the Resource board. However, if you would like me to add it to the month?s current New Stories Index, just PM me the info, and I?ll add it to the day?s index log.

To make it easier for me when gathering the story data, please headline your fic with the following information in the first post. Keep in mind, this isn?t just a place for New Stories to be indexed, but a chance for free advertisement, so you?ll want to fill in as much info as possible to make your fic stand out.

I figured using him would be best for this exercise since he?s more flushed out than any other character I?ve created over the years. I?m hoping that this diary exercise will help keep me in writing shape and (more importantly) can help me combat writer's block that has plagued me so much in the last few years.

Summary: A year after the end of the NJO, Tahiri has an ominious vision and leaves Zonoma Sekot to investigate. Ultimately she must team up with Corran and Jaina to stop a group of ex-Peace Brigade mercenaries hunting Sith artifacts, the Yuuzhan Vong renegades who are behind them, and the mysterious Dark Side adept who is playing them to advance his own goals.
Notes: Anakin Solo and Tahiri Veila were two of my favorite characters in the New Jedi Order- Anakin was the latter-day Luke in many ways, and Tahiri's courage, spunk, and humor were great fun, and the duality of her Jedi and Yuuzhan Vong nature was fascinating. I was spoiled for Star by Star so Anakin's death didn't hurt as much as it might have (not to say I was happy about it, mind), but I continued to enjoy Tahiri in Force Heretic and The Final Prophecy. Then in TUF she didn't really have a role at all, despite the build-up, and what LOTF did was awful. It wasn't that I didn't think Tahiri could go dark, it was just that it was handled very poorly, regressing this intelligent, strong, complex character into an emotionally needy child.

Title: Dying of the Light

Notes: This plot bunny started life as an angst-filled vig, but has since evolved into a three- or four-post short story. I think.

Summary:Chris Donovan just graduated from the Academy at the top of his class, and has his first assignment. Sent out with a cadre of Jedi, he is charged with investigating the mysterious deaths of several Rim-ward settlements. When the threat makes itself known, it is clear that Chris is more involved than even he could possibly know.
