Sales at JoAnn's are almost as confusing as Kohl's. To get the 50% off you had to have a coupon which was given away earlier this week but never on the actual sale day. But the sales lady was putting up the sale signs for tomorrow so you could either take the current price or insist on tomorrows sale price.

    I didn't buy anything. I'll wait a bit.

Shoot I have a box of small snaps. Geoff is coming over tomorrow nite so I can give him a hand at the folded seams on his cloak and I'll give him the snaps for all of you to use.

Yeah...as soon as I'm out/changed, I'll call and head on over.

Krash do you and Emily work tomorrow night?
errrr...I'm going over to Bret's for some last minute work before ComiCon. I just need to get this robe done...I don't care if someone better then me does the finishing touches, I just need it by Pittsburgh...and a 6-pack of Iron City Blue Milk to the one who can get it done for me! :D

Sorry, Mary. I didn't know that that was the case. [face_blush]
Did you sign up for their mailing list? It took me three entries for them to finally send me a coupon in the mail, but it really helped to defray the cost of my new Mara Jade costume material :D It was $10/yd fabric. ;) :D

Thats OK Kim, its all part of the learning process. Once I got the sales lady to understand I wasn't going to have a fit over not having a coupon she was very friendly about explaining how the sales works. I will go sign up for the mailing list. The fabric I'm looking at for my tunic is $6.99/yard so I definately want to save the money. Can't wait to see your new Mara Jade costume.

Krash I'm sure you'll have the robe done in time.

Thanks for letting us have some snaps Avrev.

WOW...nice to see this dress finally starting to come together!

Thanks Bret for helping me close to done with my jedi robe! (could you post that picture for me?) I have the snaps from Bret...they should come in handy, after looking at what the RoP costumes have.

Still have some things to finish up with Kim...good news is, I won't keep you up at all hours of the night again! :D

I'm still not a big fan of the whole Jedi with glasses thing.

    (Inside "Pink Harvest" joke) ;)

There's actually a thread on the lit boards about that--why people in the GFFA or whatever you want to call it don't wear glasses.

Thanks Kim and Bret...this thing looks frell-ing awesome! Say what you want about BMack's robe, but there's something to be said for wearing something YOU made (with the help of friends)

Sure, I'd like to wake up one morning...and have a Tobey Macguire moment and wake up one morning...and I can see just fine ;)

I'd settle for being as ripped as Tobey was (da man has hit the weights) The improved vision would be a bonus! Spidy powers...oh yeah, bring them on!

I went out and got one of those garment bags, like Kim suggested. I was showing the robe to Emily...when I had to go to the car to get them. I walked outside (in my jedi robe) and it's all "swoosh-ing and stuff"

    NIIICE! :D

Krash, the robe looks sweet. Now I have to get mine done.

    Mmm...tofu does a body good! [face_mischief]
The boy worked out for 4 months and ate mostly tofu to get that shape. Watch Cider House Rules and then think about that scene in Spiderman. He did a lot of work. ;)

    Excellent! :D
I love being in costume and the costume making you reallly feel the part! My new bodysuit makes me feel like a comic hero.

Oh, and Caroline and I wiped up a holster for my new Mara costume! I'm getting there. ;)

Yeah, filming Rite Of Passage is awesome. I can look at Will and see him in costume and remember that I'm in costume and can easily form a frustrated or intense expression on my face. Not difficult to get into character at all, even if I'm looking at a completely blue background most of the time.

No thanks...I'll stick with protein shakes and taking it easy on the carbs.

Can't wait to see Mara 2.0...I mean Kim wouldn't even let me take a peak at it, just so I could appreciate the work she'd been doing on it!

    Actually, it's Mara Jade 3.0. ;)
I'm slowly acquiring pieces to this costume. I need a better belt system, but this will do for now. ;)

If you can find severial leather belts. Long belts that we can cut up and mod I'll help you make them with the correct buckles like we discussed. I have the tool to put rivets in the leather. We could do it when we get together and do helmets.
