If they're 20somethings be wary. Go look up 'lemons' and 'drugs' on a search engine and you'll see why.

Don't nobody say who won the American version, okay? Good. Thanks. And no, I'm not auditioning, haha, although I wish I was capable of that.

I mentioned it because this week there were six performances done by the couples... and ALL six were absolutely spectacular. Brilliant stuff. Anybody could enjoy them. I wanted to know if anybody else saw them? :D

(and obviously I watched Heroes, Mark :p)

I construct death defying mixtapes of golden glory.

    Then I watch TV.

SYTYCD was awesome last night. The two princes dance (to the Presets, no less [face_love]) was sexarific. Boys should dress like that all the time. ALL. THE. TIME.

I hate the girls though. Boriiiinnng.

And FINALLY. Heroes starts getting good.

    Gooder.

And Ewan's on it, with Obi-Wan beard at certain times.

I prefer the Long Way Round (or is it the Long Way Down this time?) though, because ATOC is BORING :p

So what happened with ewan? I missed it, i was watching AOTC.

it was a case of Ewan, or Ewan, so Ewan won. ;)

EDIT: Just noticed this video on youtube, it's a little ahead of where we are, but at the end of it... The Force was with Ewan that day, I wish he said that though ;)

So "Heroes" should be on again tomorrow.

And we now know a couple of things. First, it would appear Claire is (a) immortal; and (b) looks like she's going to be sixteen for all eternity. This assumes that her X gene works the same way as Adam Monroe's.

That little plot twist I actually saw coming from half an episode away. After all, when Bob starts talking about a seriously emo character as their fearsome leader, and the only guy with a worse Thinking With The Wrong Head Problem bigger than Hiro's is Adam, you can make some leaps of logic...

I must say, though, that there were a couple of very pleasing links to the overall mythology of the series, too.

First, the Godsend symbol looks to have originated from Adam Monroe/Takeo Kensei; it's his banner in the 1600s and his sword's mark. But here's an interesting plot problem: in this reshuffled version of history, Linderman must have come into possession of Adam's sword at some point but never let on to Adam that he had the weapon. If I remember right, Hiro didn't have Kensei's sword with him when he returned to the present day ... which means the sword must have survived the explosion along with Adam Monroe, since Hiro has to obtain the sword in the present day before he travels back in time.

Unfortunately, that means that Adam was probably carrying the sword around for a good ten, twenty years or more without ever looking at the pommel or opening it. And also, stretching credulity a bit, obviously Linderman never looked at the sword properly despite having paid six-figure sums for it, because "Ando, open" was recorded on the pommel in plain sight for a good four hundred years.

It would also appear that the sword is in fact just plain and ordinary. Its copy was sitting in the museum for X number of years, and Adam Monroe clearly never went to recover it. If he had, he presumably would have discovered Linderman was holding the original. So one could assume it had no value to Monroe.

Second, it does appear the eclipse does indeed have a great deal of significance (possibly as a marker for the emergence of the first "heroes"?) History is only altered at the moment of that eclipse, since it's then that Hiro arrives and changes things significantly.

Third, Tim Kring's made a nice little double meaning to "Save the cheerleader, save the world" -- first from Sylar running it, and now potentially from the Shanti virus. Although I suspect by the end of the series it'll be Adam Monroe's blood that saves humanity.

Fourth, with a puffed-up ego, may I point to my old posts where I predicted that Hiro was Kensei? I have the word of a long-dead Japanese princess to back me up now :D

Firstly, though, I want to know who Adam is!

Don't look at me strange, I just want an explanation. I can see it not coming for awhile though, at least not until Hiro meets him.

And, do you reckon Adam/Kensei has more powers than just regeneration? Bob mentioned the god-like status he thought of himself as . . . unless, of course, that was just his immortality (if that is indeed the case).

I also predicted the Hiro/Kensei thing...but I never expected the Adam!Kensei to become BIGGEST. EMO. IN. HISTORY.

Boohoohoo, you stole my princess, I'm gonna blow myself up and then chase you through history kill your dad and seriously make like miserable for you boohoohoo.

Did Hiro give the sword to his little cherry blossom girl in the past? I might have made that up. I don't know.

As to the whole space time sword continuum...it's best to think about it this way:

    - sword moves through history, either as Adam's weapon or via princess or whatever. As with all written languages, not everyone learns them. They also change - modern, casual Japanese is different to that which was used in the 1600's. The characters change as each generation adds, subtracts etc etc. So the words 'Ando, open' maybe not have been deciferable to many people. Nor would everyone examine a weapon in great detail.
    - Adam creates, then uses the company to do what he likes. They stop him. His 'disciple', Linderman, decides to keep some of his hero's possessions, collecting tidbits from all heroes like he does (see: paintings, histories etc). Unless he can read Japanese, or has the wherewithal to look at the swordhilt with clear eyes, he is unlikely to notice it. Yes, I'm speaking in terms of 'real life' here, not the magic of TV, but work with me.
    - So the sword, which Hiro needs to get back in time, is left by him to fall into the hands of whoever so he CAN go back in time, in order to make sure the sword gets to himself...ad infinitum.

That's my take on it anyway.

Also, I read ahead tonight. Haha!

Dear Tyi: I didn't watch the SYTYCD episode you're talking about, and I'm not impressed with the winner either. The guy was totally better than her. BUT, it doesn't really matter with competitions like this, where people actually HAVE skill, as they'll both end up with lucrative work anyway! Love, Jessie. xx

He may have thought his name was Connor Macleod. :D

I think, though, that's a pretty good guess. The one thing confusing the issue is Parkman's father; it's not certain whether it was he or Adam who've been killing the members of the group. Angela Petrelli, for example: she seemed to be vibrating to death when Parkman busted in -- but that doesn't mean Adam was trying to kill her. It could mean--
    (a) Adam was trying to kill her with some power he has; or
    (b) Parkman's Dad was trying to get her to kill herself by Angela using her own power against herself. We've never seen what Angela can do, remember; maybe she's similar to the Flash and able to vibrate herself through obstacles, etc.

I think, though, it's a pretty good assumption that Hiro's dad was killed by Adam. The motive was there and to my recollection the hooded figure Hiro's father sees before getting thrown off the roof looks thinner and younger than Parkman's ol' biscuit barrel Dad. ;)

Is Adam an empath like Peter? Possibly -- after all, there's nothing to say that Adam is in fact four hundred years old. He could well have absorbed Hiro's power by accident, practiced the timeshift technique himself and come forward to the twenty-first century on his own. Perhaps, like "five years ahead Hiro", he's breasted the future as well and sees Peter as an important piece of the puzzle.

I"m going to HTR stuff here because I'm busting with info:

Mumma Petrelli keeps touching people when she's trying to convince them. Power of persuasion maybe? I reckon. Someone convincing her of her worst nightmares and making her attack herself, huh? That all fits. And Mumma Petrelli sure as hell wouldn't want to dob in any of the ElderHeroes...she's so stuck in her secretive way. Also, she got it on with Hiro's dad. Ew.

And then we have the line GoldyBob says "Parkman is just the weapon, and a blunt one at that" (or something) meaning that Adam was using Daddy Parkman to trick everyone. Also, good old Adam can jump off a building and survive. So maybe he's doing SOME things personally. Like taking out Daddy Nakamura.

So, I don't think he needs powers other than the one he's got. He can live forever (barring a permanent injury to his cerebral cortex - like Claire's waking up on the slab thing and Peter's glass to the head injury) and his blood will heal things. Save the Cheerleader/400 year old Emo Samurai, save the world?

And some more conjecture - Adam!Kensei being Pappa Petrelli...passing his gene's onto the Brothers Hawtness, and then his own particular power onto his granddaughter Claire?

Well, last night's episode did help a bit more.

First, it's nice to see Peter Petrelli's most important concern in his life is a picture of his brother rather than the chick he dropped off in 2008. The future won't readjust around her. If he heals the timeline and stops the viral apocalypse she will simply have disappeared in 2007; she won't suddenly be restored to her family, because she's become part of the timeline that's going to disappear.

Second, though, it was a nice little jump back to the theme of Peter not being able to control his powers in that it took a threat to Nathan's life before he finally did the Superman thing and rescued him.

Third, if Peter ever figures out how to consciously control his powers again, he's quite literally unstoppable. By my count, assuming no conscious control over his ability to absorb others' powers, he can now fly, turn invisible, shift through time (and by extension, though we've not seen it yet, stop time around him), paint the future, regenerate (and therefore, as with Adam Monroe and possibly Claire, he's now immortal), control radiation, blow himself up without harm, walk through walls, throw lightning, read minds (and thus suggest things to others minds if the power develops the same way Matt's has), move things with his mind, and transmute metal (assuming he's been around Bob long enough.) The only power he doesn't seem to have absorbed seems to be the Haitian's power ... and he's in a sense immune to that because he knows how to heal his own memories.

It strikes me that the only individuals now capable of stopping either him or Adam Monroe must be the trio of Maja, Alejandro and Sylar, given her particular power. Which does suggest a certain direction for the series after the Writers' Strike is over, no?

Fourth, that was a very nice and acceptable series of events which put everyone where they were. Only problem: how does Peter's cargo container get to Cork, Ireland? And even though Peter regenerates, surely he would've just about died from a lack of food or water? Or the fact nobody heard him yelling when he's clearly conscious as the container is closed on him?

Fifth: I must say that ordinarily I would despise jumps to the past like this. In most conventional series it's a filler when the writers don't have anything more to add in the present day. But this one was a joy. Having said that, my favourite 'time shifted' episode is still the "Five Years Ahead" one -- if for no other reason than Peter seems to have been channelling Wolverine in that one, and you can see the whole cast had a blast stepping out of their characters for a while. ;)

    Heroes was on tonight. [face_dancing]

But now it's not on for the rest of the year. :(

Somehow I missed this over the past few days. Thank you for the answer, you! That episode I'm talking about (second to last) was fantastic - if you remember the 'business deal handshake' dance that Neil and Sabre did ... that was from that night. Anyway, I agree! Dancing is awesome to watch! I can't wait to see what Australia has to offer on that front!

    So, now, back to Heroes...

I've read this post now. I refused to before. But now I just had to say that this was a hilarious post. I actually chuckled. Such affectionate names. [face_love]

Definitely, Saint. "Five Years Ahead" was an awesome and mind-intensive awesome episode. A favourite for sure.

    So...

We know now that Adam is 400 years old. We know he was the one who killed Daddy Nakamura if I may steal that name (and what a jazzy little trick of Hiro's! Excellent, just excellent ... he can go back in time and have a look at anything without anybody ever knowing!).

Matt can almost control people's minds now. It reminds me of that girl in the first season - the one who was working with HornRimmed Bennet. She would say something and it would make them do it ... Matt, on the other hand, can implant it without a word! Oof! I got the impression that this was something Daddy Parkman couldn't do, however. Or could he?

And I honestly thought HornRimmed Bennet was dead. The slow-motion shot of his glasses shattering was pretty awesome, I must admit. Why did Bob save him?

Perhaps Bob isn't the leader after all *shrugs* it's a possibility.

Fantastic finale. Some of the camera angles were great to watch. And Hiro rules. I'm interested to see what happens next, whether they continue calling it chapter 2 once filming begins again some time next year.
