    Knights of the Last Republic

The New Republic flourished for a short time, turning the galaxy away from the Empire that had wrought so much harm. The Imperial Remnant redeemed itself and joined a galactic alliance with the former Rebels, keeping the peace in the wake of a second Galactic Civil War. The New Jedi Order rose anew, surviving the fall of two Solo sons – one to death, and another to the Dark - the return of the Sith, and a minor Apocalypse.

It was when a second son fell, however, that the darkness truly fell. The Order was destroyed, and the New Republic shortly thereafter was sundered by the First Order and its Supreme Leader, which had seized the legacy of the Empire and refined it into a more militant and heartless incarnation. What is left of the light leads a Resistance, but that light is shallow, and weak. The Last Jedi walks no more.

It is into this that a Force User who survived the massacre of the Jedi, and the subsequent Purge, drifted back to Known Space…

To find a galaxy changed forever.

The Master, speaking to the Protectors.

    ---
    Welcome to One Canon.

In this aside, the events of the Sequel Trilogy pick up some three decades after the final death of Emperor Palpatine, defeated with his clones some eleven years after the Battle of Yavin. It has been a hard peace, secured in the face of overwhelming crisis’s.

Nineteen years after Yavin the Imperial Remnant signed a new set of accords, ushering in six years of relative peace as other Imperials in the Deep Core were undone. The Yuuzhan Vong came for a devastating four years, and the Resistance was founded some five years after, just before the Dark Nest Crisis.

Not two years later Darth Caedus arose, and within a year Daala had taken command of the galactic alliance between the New Republic, the last of the Empire, the defeated Confederation, and a host of other powers. Two years after that, the Lost Tribe of the Sith and Abeloth assaulted the galaxy, to be defeated by Luke, the New Jedi Order, and their allies and friends… only for Han and Leia’s youngest child, Ben Solo, to devastate the Order’s membership shortly thereafter.

Luke, fresh from the loss of his wife Mara to the late Darth Caedus, and his will shattered by his error with Ben, left. Han and Leia separated. The New Republic and Imperial Remnant faced a secession of their own members to a small, radicalized group known as the First Order – not knowing that the Unknown Regions was home to true strength of the enemy and its Supreme Leader, Snoke.

Within a year of the defeat of the Sith and Abeloth, the Resistance that had quietly pursued leads about a mysterious Neo-Imperial movement was validated, and in the most horrible way possible. The Starkiller superweapon destroyed Hosnian Prime and with it, the New Republic Senate and much of the Defence Force. A brief moment of hope led by Leia in those intervening weeks, with the rise of Rey, Poe and Finn, heroes of the Resistance, and the destruction of Starkiller. Smaller hopes surfaced as Jaina Solo pursued her brother, and the death of Han was briefly kept secret by a stand-in actor, but such hope was crushed by the First Order’s whole-sale invasion of Known Space. Even the destruction of their mobile-capital, the Supremacy, and Kylo Ren’s murder of Snoke was not enough to halt the First Order, and only Luke’s heroic sacrifice allowed the Resistance to survive and escape.

In the many months which have followed that calamitous chain of events, the galaxy has grown dark. There is only an emptiness where the New Republic once stood, and hope is personified by the surviving Rebels… who dare not rear their heads for fear of being struck down. Much of the galaxy is on its own.

Without the New Jedi Order there is no hope. The surviving Masters disbanded the Order after the massacre, and Kylo Ren and his Knights of Ren have hunted down the survivors.

With the Last Jedi hope flickers.

Let’s see if you can light it.

Bio: Eleanor was born twenty fiveyears ago to parents on Dantooine. She grew up a farmer for the first ten years of her life, exploring the ruinedJedi Temple that once stood, spending time amongst the wildlife that always seemed to have a kind way with her, before she was discovered by the Jedi. Eleanor knew her history, she was descended from the first Mandalorians who settled on Dantooine after Revan defeated their leader, and while her parents knew little of that culture, it was what she always wanted to be. Eleanor turned down the offer of becoming a Jedi at first, until the Jedi Master sent her to the cave on the far side of Dantooine and she found a kyber crystal and was allowed to build a lightsaber. She was taken to the Temple, and then ran away a few years later.

After the fall of the Jedi Order, Eleanor has wandered from place to place; not really belonging and trying to avoid the First Order. When the Resistance call for volunteers, Eleanor felt that she had to help and she went, getting place in a Fighter Squadron and then a ground team with the promise of eventually serving for Mand'alor. She went missing during a scouting mission, and hasn't been heard from since.

    KNIGHTS OF THE LAST REPUBLIC

THE FIRST ORDER HAS DESTROYED THE GALACTIC ALLIANCE BETWEEN THE OLD EMPIRE AND NEW REPUBLIC. CORRUPTING BEN SOLO, SUPREME LEADER SNOKE CAUSED THE SLAUGHTER OF THE LATEST CLASS OF JEDI KNIGHTS, WHICH SAW LUKE SKYWALKER EXILE HIMSELF. INTO THE VOID CAME THE RESISTANCE LED BY GENERAL LEIA ORGANA.

THE NEW JEDI ORDER HAS BEEN DESTROYED BY KYLO REN AND HIS KNIGHTS, AND THE LIGHT OF THE FORCE HAS GONE OUT.

THE OPENING DAYS OF THE SECOND GALACTIC CIVIL WAR SAW THE NEW REPUBLIC DESTROYED BUT THE FIRST ORDER BLOODIED BY THE DEATH OF SNOKE AND LOSS OF THEIR CAPITAL, THE SUPREMACY, AS WELL AS THE SUPERWEAPON STARKILLER BASE. NOW THE RESISTANCE, FRESH FROM SURVIVING THE BATTLE OF CRAIT, MUST STEP UP WITH THE FORCE PRODIGY REY LEADING THEM. LUKE RETURNED, BUT DIED IN THE PROCESS, AND HAN SOLO HAS BEEN LOST.

BUT AS SNOKE HIMSELF SAID, SHOULD SKYWALKER RETURN, THE NEW JEDI WILL RISE.

FOR ONE SURVIVED THE SLAUGHTER AND THE PURGE, AND NOW SHE RETURNS TO A GALAXY FOREVER CHANGED...

Aboard the Pulsar Skate, drifting at the edge of the Crait system

    The ship is dead.

What was once the smuggling vessel of Mirax Horn, wife to the Jedi Master Corran, has been damaged, and viscerally so. Life support is out, and emergency lighting is barely going. Whistler, the personal astromech that once flew missions with Rogue Squadron a lifetime ago, slowly reactivates, and, with some effort, rights himself. His memory banks have been scrambled, damage from what he recognises as ion fire. His most recent datafiles, those covering the last few weeks, are gone. But knowing the type of damage enables him to diagnose the ship, and its occupants.

Ion fire acts as a stun weapon to most humans and humanoids, and seemingly, from the purple-feathered and brown-robed Fosh on the floor of the lounge, avian ones too. Whistler could not diagnose the gender of the Fosh, but nonetheless senses a second occupant, and indeed a variety of parts of the ship which have sealed themselves in the power surge. The droid heads to the cockpit, and finds the woman, who the astromech does not recognise, save to note that it is not Mirax, unconscious in the pilot seat.

Anomalous. Whistler hooks into the computer, and begins rerouting power, and working out where they are, or are not. The stars enable him to pinpoint their location to Crait, a world free-floating in the depths of space. Uncharted, technically speaking, save for old, old, old Rebel files that Whistler has access to. He likes to use old to signify a decade, so he can add reason to the idiosyncratic vernacular that humans often use. Oh, wait, he needs another 'old'. Shaking aside the stream of distraction, he confirms that both escape pods are missing, that the green-trimmed X-wing that is ordinarily in the hangar bay is also absent, and that their trajectory, and indeed the last input from the navicomputer, suggests a jump from the Unknown Regions to here.

    Whistler tweetles with awe.

What had they been doing there? The noise causes the woman to stir, and Whistler quickly remembers to re-route power to the life support, while keeping their energy readings minimal. Whatever happened to them, whatever shot them, is likely still out there. He toots softly for the young woman's attention.

The cave had always been dark, dripping water creating puddles on the ground as Kinrath scurried in and out of the entrance. Eleanor approached, carefully; slowly and smiled when they allowed her to pet them. The tall grasses on either side rose to her chest, and she slowly made her way to the entrance of the cave. It had once belonged to the Jedi, but now lay restless; small flickering shadows of silver filtered at the edge of her vision...

    Wake up.

Eleanor jolted awake, sweat making her hair stick to the nape of her neck as she turned to see the sound of whistling. She relaxed slightly when she saw the old Astromech Droid and sat up; taking in her surroundings and feeling around with the force. How did I get here? Eleanor turned to the droid and smiled at him, feeling nervous as she tried to call on the force to calm herself. "Hello friend. I don't suppose you know how we got here?" Eleanor reached out and gently placed her hand on his head she stood up and glanced out into the vast space beyond them. She tried to reach out, but found nothing; or perhaps the force was unable to linger here.

The astromech droid jumped out of its metallic skin, even with the benefit of sensors. It wobbled, but managed not to fall over. Eleanor was awake. Whistler rapidly ran a message across the screen, unsure whether she understood droidspeak.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT SUGGESTS THAT WE WERE HIT BY AN ION CANNON. TRAJECTORY SUGGESTS THAT WE JUMPED IN-SYSTEM FROM THE UNKNOWN REGIONS. THIS IS SUGGESTIVE OF DAMAGE TO MYSELF, SO MY ANALYSIS OF THE SHIP MAY BE INCORRECT.

He spun his head back the way he had came, and then tweetled and hooked into the holocams, showing the unconscious Fosh in the main area. He tootled mournfully.

THE FOSH IS DECEASED, FROM WHAT I CAN ASCERTAIN. I COULD NOT LIFT HIM/HER/THEM TO CONFIRM ANY DATA ABOUT THE FOSH.

The droid did not comment on the relative unlikeliness of encountering a Fosh. They were particularly isolationist, after all. But here one was. Whistler dutifully confirmed that parts of the ship were inaccessible, but that he had managed to keep life support going. There was a relay in one of the cut-off portions of the ship that he could not access without manual support, and if he reconnected it they may have power restored.

Eleanor listened with a confused look at the droid as they told her they had jumped from an unknown place. I wonder what we did there. And who shot at us with an ion canon.

She looked down at her hand and reached over, gently patting Whistler on the head. "I can take a look. Do what you can to restore power, if there's any place habitable we should land and get our bearings." Eleanor walked over to the doors and smiled back at him. "I'll double check and see if there's anyone still alive. But we're on our own for now little friend."

The little droid tweetled a response, softly.

The Fosh seemed to come to as Eleanor approached, stirring with a groan. "Well that was not my finest moment." A clawed hand went to her head, smoothing out the crest. It briefly flared orange when she recognised who was approaching her. "Jedi Magnus?"

There was a blink of her too-intelligent eyes, and the Fosh sprang to her feet, reverse articulated but gathered beneath her in a feline repose. "I cannot believe it is you! Where are we? We were near the Unknown Regions..."

    Edge of the system, also

The Crait system was an odd one as Crait itself had not been officially mapped. It was a lonely world, dipping into and out of the history of the Rebel Alliance, but never the New Republic. Discord between Mon Mothma and Leia Organa towards the official end of the war, a year after the Emperor's final demise, had seen Leia, Ackbar, Wedge and other Rebel leaders hide the information for safe-worlds, weapons dumps and mothballed ships even from the New Republic, should they ever be needed.

Much of that data had became the nucleus for the Insider movement during the Yuuzhan Vong War, and much of that structure had been appropriated by Leia when she founded the Resistance six years ago. While she herself had been busy in the Jedi Order, Ackbar and others had kept the Resistance going until the First Order became a public entity, masterminding the secession of worlds from the former Empire and bringing an end to the Galactic Alliance a yer ago. At that point Leia took the position of General and leader of the Resistance - at the expense of her marriage, for Han had no desire to fight any longer, not so soon after their latest attempt at retirement... and after yet another personal family tragedy.

But now, the system was full of immense Star Destroyers and the wreckage of the Supremacy, the former mobile capital and shipyard of the First Order. With the destruction of that Mega Star Destroyer and the death of Supreme Leader Snoke, the First Order might have been about to lose its forward momentum - if not for the fact that the galaxy believed the Starkiller superweapon was still intact, and was in the midst of a mass-surrender which made the advances the Yuuzhan Vong once made look slow. With many of the surviving Senators already on the First Order payroll, the galaxy appeared to be doomed.

If not for the fact that the Resistance had escaped the Battle of Crait when it should have died, and if not for the fact that the bravery of Luke Skywalker was filtering even through the First Order's ranks, and if not for the simple chaos the death of Snoke had the potential to cause. But the Sun Guard had been hired to assist with the extraction of the surviving rebels from Crait, and a lone scout had been sent first.

    Leonias Colcha.

When he arrived, the dozens of Star Destroyers in orbit, Resurgent-class all, were milling, their formation disrupted, as if caught off-guard, in no recognisable or organised deployment. TIEs flew erratically, and with no patrol circuit even defined. Chaos, in an organisation that prided on Order.

Eleanor was started when the Fosh jumped to her feet and moved back a little when she knew her name. Had they met in the Unknown Regions? I don't know. I don't remember anything. She put her hands together and bowed to the woman before reaching out and gently helping her to a chair. Eleanor "I don't remember anything from the last two weeks. We were hit by an Ion Canon...at least that's what Whistler says happened."

She sighed and stepped back, regarding the Fosh with curiosity. "We need to get this ship back up and running. We're on the edge of the Crait System, and I'm not sure how we ended up here either." Eleanor gave her an apologetic look. "Do you remember anything that happened? Who could have attacked us?"

    Appearance: [IMG]
Personal Effects: Ancestral Lightsaber Pikes, Sun Guard Armor
Personal Ship: Silver Beacon, a modified Twin Suns Engineering Solar Dragon-class Interceptor
Bio: Leonias Colcha was the adopted son of Supreme Sun Guardian, Kev-Mas Colcha. Leonias' original parents died in the liberation of Eshan when he was just an infant, and he was taken to an orphanage afterwards. 5 years later, Kev-Mas traced a strong Force presence back to the orphanage, and immediately to Leonias, who he adopted, and trained from birth to be the leader of the next generation of Sun Guard. Also, Kev-Mas took Leonias to the Mother Machine on Belsavis to alter his DNA. Much to the surprise of the mother machine, who was used to more grand requests like making the user incredibly powerful in the Force and a Sith pureblood, the only changes for Leonias were that he'd be made to be Kev-Mas' biological son, in addition to his existing genetic code.

Eventually, in 20 ABY, two years after Leonias' Soltus Rites signifying his coming of age at 14 galactic standard years, the now 16 year old Leonias is promoted to the rank of Supreme Sun Guardian, in a public ceremony which ended with Kev-Mas passing on to the Force, much to the surprise of the onlookers.

Some 14 years later, the Sun Guard receive a distress signal from the Resistance on Crait. In the past, the Resistance was not exactly the kind of organization the Sun Guard would do business with. But now they're desperate. Numbers small enough to fit on a single ship, and continuing to struggle to survive. They went from a politically motivated paramilitary force, into a group of refugees seeking asylum. The sun guard don't really deal with politically motivated paramilitary forces. However, they do, and have many times in the past, deal with refugees seeking asylum.

    IC: Leonias Colcha

Leonias smiled at what he saw. Chaos. Complete and total chaos.

    "Hypocrites," he commented, chuckling.

"Beacon, I assume the stealth systems are all online and functional?"

The silver tinted spectral image of a Fosh in Jedi robes appeared inside the ship, projected from what looked to be a holo-emitter.

"Yes Leonias, they are all in working order."

    "Good. Now let's get underway."

Leonias flipped a few switches and the WhisperThrust engines came to life with a gentle hum, the thrust baffling doing its work to silence them the best he could. He grabbed the yoke and throttle in front of him carefully, slowly beginning to maneuver the ship further into the system, hoping that he wouldn't be detected by the First Order ships in orbit. While it was true that they were disorganized and he could potentially catch them by surprise, he was just one pilot in a small interceptor against an armada and even if he could manage to evade them, it would put his mission in jeopardy if he was seen.

"Pro-Bono," he continued, looking to the rear of his spherical cockpit as if talking to something that was there, "Do a sensor sweep of the system. Look for any ships with damaged systems. Particularly ones not broadcasting First Order transponder codes."

"Bee-deeep-bit-da-na-na" came the reply from a droid whose vocabulator sounded like the cross between that off an old Arakyd Viper Probe Droid and an R-series Astromech, revealing what exactly Leonias was talking to.

    Aboard the Finaliser, Crait orbit

The massive Resurgent-class Star Destroyer had the ability to conquer almost any world in the known galaxy, and, what with the surrender of several key Core Systems to them, its use would be the equivalent to using a hammer upon a gnat in the future. The Resistance had been destroyed, but not entirely, and Kylo Ren was personally leading the pursuit to Batuu. But now this, a new ship, suddenly appearing within range of Crait. A late arrival? An ally coming to help the Resistance to find they had fled.

It took little to identify the ship.

The Pulsar Skate, ship of the wife of Corran Horn, the Jedi Master, currently unaccounted for. For a brief moment, Snoke's words filled General Hux with fear.

"If Skywalker is not found, the New Jedi will rise."

"Launch a squadron and divert the Harbinger," Hux snapped, referencing the closest Star Destroyer. "That ship must be destroyed at all costs!"

As such, not long after the Skate became visible to Leonias Colcha, it was visible to the entire First Order fleet in orbit, and Whistler, with a screech, detected the fleet the moment power was restored.

It interrupted whatever the Fosh intended to say, and she listened, translating the droidspeak. "Jedi Magnus, we will have to discuss this at another time, I am afraid. The First Order has discovered us." She extended a willowy hand to the cockpit. "I can pilot, but I am a poor shot. Can you man the guns, and we can discuss this after?"

The Fosh skipped, lithe, towards the exit. She paused as she did, hesitating.

"My name is Vergere." With that, she was gone.

"Dweeeep-bit-dana-na-na!" exclaimed Pro-Bono as he detected the Pulsar Skate the moment its systems came online.

"The Pulsar Skate?!" exclaimed Leonias, "I've heard stories about that ship... and if it's here, now, it's in trouble. Beacon, meld with me and prepare for combat."

Leonias focused his mind on the kyber crystal powering his ship's secondary reactor, and formed a meld with his ship in the same way a Jedi would connect with their lightsaber. All the while he moved his ship, still hidden, to intercept the First Order TIE Fighters moving towards the position of the Pulsar Skate.

Managing to get there just moments before the squadron of TIEs sent after the famous vessel, Leonias hovered his finger over the trigger for the Silver Beacon's Solar Ionization cannons and pressed down.

    Fizzzzzz-thooom!

The cannons fired a bright red orange high intensity stream of ionized light at an unsuspecting TIE Fighter, impacting directly against the cockpit, eating through the rudimentary deflector shields and straight through the hull of the ship. The hull melted away into the solar ionization reactor and caused a chain reaction which resulted in the ship erupting into a ball of flame.

Having announced his presence after successfully ambushing his target, he had no further need for com silence and opened a channel to the Pulsar Skate.

"Pulsar Skate, this is Leonias Colcha of the Thyrsus Sun Guard, on contract for the Resistance to scout for survivors here such as yourself. How about we scrap some First Order patsies before we make ourselves scarce?"

Eleanor gave a small bow to Vergere before she left and scrambled towards the turret guns. I had better make every shot count. She thought as she slipped on a headset and switched it on. Eleanor turned the guns around, and laughed when the voice of a Leonias Colcha came through to them. "We read you loud and clear sir. I thought we were alone out here." Eleanor adjusted her guns as TIE fighters came into view. She waited for a clear shot at a TIE that had pulled away and shot at it, clipping a wing and sending it spiralling out of control.

"Now would be a good time to try and leave." Eleanor whistled sharply and called out over the headset. "I wish we had the whole fleet here to capture some of these First Order Troopers but we can't have everything." Eleanor took a deep breath and centred herself. May The Force Be With Us.

She heard Eleanor over the internal comms. "I wish, I wish, Jedi Magnus. It won't get us anywhere." She clucked over the controls. "I am trying to leave, but our sky seems to be quite full of TIE fighters." Indeed, she spied several shots rebounding off the shields of the Imperial fighters, and Whistler blew a raspberry.

Vergere eyed the translation scrolling across the screen, and frowned. The astromech was reminiscing about when TIE fighters were bereft of shields and relatively easy targets.

The Fosh sniffed. She had little more to add to that. Nonetheless, Eleanor had managed to shoot down a fighter, then two, and this newcomer, Leonias Colcha, was doing his bit with double the number due to some nifty flying. Vergere kept herself small in the Force for now, but was still able to sense the double-resonance to Colcha. Vergere had sensed such a connection before, with Sekot living vessels, or even via meditation spheres, so she was suitably curious as to which was relevant here.

    But first, surviving.

Beacon chimed in. "We have a hail from a General Hux, from the Finaliser. I have put our hold music on." Calling the screeching music was an insult to music, but irritating Imperials, whether First Order or Remnant, was a past time for the Fosh AI. "There are twenty five Resurgent-class Star Destroyers in orbit, Leonias. We don't want to stay long."

    Another dozen TIEs were launched.

    And then another.

    "Boss?"

Vergere joined the discussion as a series of whistles confirmed a route was plotted. "I have coordinates, either dock with us or -"

All of a sudden the channels were cut; the Star Destroyers were jamming all local-frequencies. Beacon made a hissing noise. "Too much power to break through. We don't think I can pick up coordinates across the Force, either... but I can confirm with 99.99% certainty that none of those voices belong to Mirax Horn, even if that astromech might be 'Whistler', the famous droid."

Space was becoming lousy with fighters, and it was not so much that Eleanor would have issues hitting targets, more that there were so many that she could not so easily pick one out and take down its shields. The Skate was starting to take hits, and shields were being taxed. Whistler detached from the bridge and went to maintain the hastily made repairs he had made - all they needed was a good hit to the power core, and the Skate would be crippled.

As it was, Vergere grimaced, pursing her beak.

    She was not a pilot.

"I have coordinates, either dock with us or -"

As Vergere spoke to Leonias over comms, before being abruptly cut off by the First Order jamming comms, he noticed something about her voice. Similarities could be felt in the same way one might be able to notice similarities between two sounds on the same frequency. Something only he and any others trained to use the very specific Force Power she was using.

The Art of the Small. An ability designed to help one elude detection by shrinking your Force Presence, which also had additional more advanced benefits, such as the ability to manipulate matter.

Leonias stared forwards, almost as in a trance. He then blinked, and moved his head forward, as if in deep concentration.

His thoughts turned to heaping praise on those who brought him to become what he is today. To embrace humility, by realizing that we are but the sum of the efforts of those who support us. We are the combined product of the several hands that shaped us in order to accomplish whatever we have and will do.

In his deep concentration, Leonias was in a meditative state. The heat of battle was one place where Leonias felt the most at home. Orphaned as an infant when his parents became a casualty of war and adopted six years later by a man who has only ever known a life of constant conflict, he was shaped in that image. Raised to be a mercenary in his adoptive father’s image, he literally lived for battle.

In this meditative state, he channeled his thoughts upon humility. His perfectly centered mind, at home in the heat of battle molded his presence in the Force to his thoughts, shrinking it down to a microscopic level.

But at the same time, he also was focused on the heat of battle. His senses, both physical and Force senses were so tuned into the battle that they picked out and tracked every individual target in the system.

He reached out to Vergere and whoever else may have been on board the Pulsar Skate and tried to initiate a mind meld, so that he could share his thoughts and senses with them.

"Meld with me," was the telepathic thought he projected, "I need to clear out more TIEs before we can get an escape. You can hang back away from the battle and I will take care of them, but the meld will help me defend you better."

Immediately after, Leonias grabbed the controls of the Silver Beacon, and the small interceptor, a modification of a standardized TIE Hunter modification - sorta like a Thyrsian version of a modified Chiss Clawcraft, flew off after the additional incoming TIEs.

It was almost as if he was in a trance in the pilot's seat, and he was literally controlling it with his mind. He was controlling other things with his mind too. As he passed by them, he waved his hand and two TIE Fighters were pulled together, the gravity wells created by each ship colliding with each other, which resulted in the immediate collision of the ships themselves, erupting into a large ball of flame.

He set his sights on another one. He went after it while doing a barrel roll in between two more, projecting electrical Force Energy from the shield generators on the Silver Beacon and hitting the TIEs he flew between with the same effect as two ion torpedoes, disabling them completely.

His target ahead however, after disabling the pair he flew between, one hand reached out off of the ship's yoke and made a gripping gesture. The ship in front of him suddenly halted and shook, as if it was suddenly grabbed by a large hand. Then the radiator panels of the TIE Fighter started crumbling in, like they were paper being crumpled up. Then the crumpled panels slammed against the rest of the ship. Then a large explosion.

The small Sun Guard fighter banked upwards and to the left, doing a backwards tailspin as it turned around away from the explosion. As he did, he set his sights on yet another TIE Fighter, almost as if he precisely adjusted the trajectory of his ship during his last maneuver to end in a collision course towards it.

As he approached it, the TIE fired a burst of green laser cannon fire at him, which he deftly avoided by folding down his Fighter's S-foils and banking sharply to the left.

Then his ship seemingly disappeared. It was as if he was using a cloaking device.

But he wasn't. All he had was the Force.

Today, that is exactly what he was fighting to protect.

The invisible ship, flew overhead the unsuspecting TIE at a rapid pace.

As it did, it dropped something. A small, sensor masked, non propelled projectile, filled with as much destructive power as two proton torpedoes, was guided by the Force from the hardpoint on the Silver Beacon that it was attached to directly towards its unsuspecting victim.

Then it detonated. Not with the force of two proton torpedoes, but somehow... three. It was as if it had collided with something else before hitting the ship, which suddenly magnified the ensuing destruction.

Leonias projected another telepathic message to the individuals onboard the Pulsar Skate. "I think we should start getting ready to leave. Ready your docking facilities for my arrival. By the time it is ready, I should have cleared away enough TIEs to get us an escape vector."

The detonation scattered a full squadron, disrupting the next one to follow. It was one thing hurling a torpedo at a target and it exploding, it was another flying into an explosion. TIE/FO's had shields, at least, but they were hardly high-end. The black TIE/SFs were reserved for key missions, not for dog-fighting, and would have done better, but they were not present, and the TIE Silencer had not yet entered full production - let alone the TIE Dagger.

The Fosh did as suggested nonetheless, distinctly disliking the projection into her mind. She rose her mental shields, but not before confirming. On the internal comms, Vergere called to Eleanor. "Preparing a jump, get ready for the hyperspace jump." Whistler was busy doing what was best, interfacing with Beacon and coordinating the snatch-grab ad jump, which essentially Colcha would have to do - flying into the hangar as they jumped.

The TIEs were completely cleared, and Hux hissed. "Fire."

The strategic issue of being incredibly efficiently against fighters was that there was now no issue with the First Order firing from their Star Destroyers without hitting their own fighters - which was not an especially important consideration to General Hux, though losing more than a dozen TIEs to pursue a yacht and an unknown third party was enough to draw the ire of the Supreme Leader... notwithstanding the connection to the destroyed New Jedi Order.

Vergere steadied the ship long enough to take on-board Colcha, and then jumped within a second of her view of the bay showing him down - as the first turbolaser blast hit. It was a glancing blow, nothing more, but they shot into hyperspace a handful of degrees off. Vergere swore. Safeties would protect them to some extent, but they wouldn't stop them unless a gravity well caught them. Nebulae, black holes... they could hit those just fine.

But the Force did not scream a warning.

It simply continued, and Vergere felt confident in opening the intercom and saying.

"We were hit before we jumped, but I have nothing telling me that we're in danger. Anyone else?" She unstrapped and headed to the central area, Whistler detaching and following. Vergere knew that they could all arrive simultaneously - Eleanor and the newcomer and Vergere and Whistler. Vergere was merely curious, and she filled herself so.

As Leonias hopped out of the cockpit of his modified Solar Dragon-class Interceptor he was greeted by Vergere's message over the intercom.

"Pro-Bono, come with me," he said in the direction of his ship. As if on cue, a small spherical droid that looked to be one half of an Astromech dome on top with another dome on the bottom, which possessed various greeblies on the exterior, hovered out of it's socket in the rear of the ship, "I might be needing you."

"Bleep-dit-ba-da-na-na!" the droid chirped in confirmation as it followed Leonias to the central area.

Entering the center area, Leonias held out a hand in greeting as he removed his helmet with the other. As his helmet came off his long silver hair flowed out and his stark white echani face was revealed, standing out significantly in contrast against his black armor.

His eyes immediately were drawn to Vergere, and he raised an eyebrow in response.

"Beacon? I didn't know you could manifest physically..."

Eleanor was surprised by how quickly everything had happened. The hit they took nearly knocked Eleanor out of her seat in the turret but she held as they went into hyperspace. That was close. She thought to herself, taking a few deep breaths and reaching out with the force. I think were okay, but I wonder where were going now. Eleanor got up from her seat and left the turret, following Vergere and Whistler to the meeting point. She looked over at Vergere carefully and knelt down to pat Whistler on the head.

"Quick thinking." Eleanor complimented with a smile. "Where did you set our destination to?" And then at their new guests question she added, "Who's a beacon?"

Another droid! Whistler was so happy, and struck up a musical aside with Pro-Bono, who happily chirped back. Whistler rolled back the cockpit while they chatted, and began to try and ascertain where they were jumping. Divide the five by the nine... account for the angle of incidence versus the angle of arrival...

... Vergere smiled. "I am not Beacon, which I presume is the presence I sensed on your ship. It gave you a double-resonance, so to speak," she said, softly. "I presume it is a construct you have melded with, one imbued artificially with the Force... it felt... borrowed, no?"

Turning a willowy hand, she looked to Eleanor, before Leonias could reply. "I set our destination for the far Rim, in the Trans-Hydian - to try and find somewhere quiet to decide where to go, but we were hit by a glancing blow, so now we are en route for wherever." Her eyes met Eleanor's. "Thus my question about what you both felt in the Force. If we were in trouble, I would suggest cutting the engines, but the Force has only... expectation for me, not concern." She narrowed her eyes in thought. "Maybe even hope, would you believe."

"Something dark and terrible has been unleashed upon this galaxy. That was an armada I detected - some two dozen modern Star Destroyers, and sensors picked up a multi-kilometer monstrosity in two pieces, sheered apart, a third one way, two-thirds the other." She referenced the Supremacy, which not a few hours ago the Raddus had accelerated to hyperspace through. Vergere turned her beak to Leonias.

"What can you tell us of what has happened? We have been out of touch for some weeks - I only happened to find this ship, disabled, before my ship, too, was struck." She mused. "I had to cold-shirt my way across the vacuum of space to make it."

Whistler and Pro-Bono discussed, and looped in Beacon to the chat.

    Grid coordinates H-6?

    Maybe?

Leonias smiled. He sensed that there was much to learn from this one. Both about her kind, which was unknown to him besides the visage of the Force Sensitive AI in his fighter, as well as the Force.

He was about to give a reply to that statement, but she continued speaking, this time to the other person in the room. He'd have to wait for the right moment to have a proper discussion with this strange Force User.

He listened in on the conversation, curiosity piqued, and then Vergere addressed Leonias once more.

"What can you tell us of what has happened? We have been out of touch for some weeks - I only happened to find this ship, disabled, before my ship, too, was struck. I had to cold-shirt my way across the vacuum of space to make it."

"The Resistance is but a small inkling of it's former strength. They're not dead yet, but the First Order shrunk their numbers enough that they all fit onboard and crew the Millennium Falcon at the moment."

Leonias sighed, and looked onward somberly.

"Crait was the site of the most recent battle. It was there that Luke Skywalker finally appeared and bought the Resistance enough time to escape with the numbers they have. If it weren't for his valiant sacrifice, the Resistance would be no more. I know this, because that's what the Resistance told me when they contracted my people to fight for them. Thankfully for the Resistance, the Sun Guard's resources are a bit... less scarce. As the Supreme Sun Guardian, I felt it pertinent to provide a show of good faith as well as an example of our culture by serving as the lone vanguard responsible for rescuing any survivors. Survivors such as you."

Meanwhile, as Beacon was looped into the chat, her silver spectral Fosh visage appearing on the holoreceiver, she immediately chimed in.

"Coordinates H-6? That's wild space. It would actually be most fortuitous if we wind up over there. The Sun Guard have several frontier worlds in wild space, most of which were colonized in the waning years of the New Republic. While our territory in the galactic west side of wild space are far more limited than those in the east, you shouldn't have difficulty finding a Sun Guard controlled planet to take refuge in. They are unknown to the rest of the Galaxy, after all."

Pro-Bono simply tweeted and droned affirmatively in response, as if he was saying "Oh yeah, that's right!"

Eleanor met Vergere's gaze with determination at the mention of something dark that had been unleashed upon the galaxy. The First Order. Eleanor thought to herself, before she answered the question, keeping in mind that they didn't know where they were going. "Shortly after I left the Jedi Order they were attacked by a Sith named Kylo Ren. He betrayed everyone. I don't even know if my own Jedi Master survived." Eleanor looked away and stared hard at the wall, feeling emotional at the thought. "After I heard about what happened I returned and joined the Resistance against the First Order. They are trying to be the Empire...but they are not as strong as they think they are."

She paused as their new friend spoke, and felt her heart leap at the mention of Luke Skywalker's name. "Master Skywalker...he..." Eleanor asked quietly. "I didn't know. Whistler-" Eleanor turned and knelt down, reaching out at him. "He's a real hero. Even had his own droid; R2-D2 who helped him with everything. " Eleanor told him sadly. She sighed and pulled away, trying to control her emotions. He was always so nice to me...

The Fosh listened to Leonias, and then to Eleanor. "I feel bound to interject," she pawed the air for attention, feline, not avian, for a moment. "Master Skywalker died during the engagement. I know not how, but I can say with absolute Force-certainty that he did not survive the battle of Crait. I have met Master Skywalker, and know his presence well. He said goodbye after. He had succeeded in his task," she turned her hand, palm-up, human again in mannerism. "As Leonias told us, he saved his friends. Leia likely lives, after all."

Vergere's eyes slit. "A word of warning though, Eleanor," she turned as she sensed a commotion from Whistler and the other droid.

    "Kylo Ren is no Sith."

A moment later, the ship lurched as they decanted, but it was the equivalent of a Force hammer hitting the two of them. Whistler squealed for attention as power-cut, and artificial dampeners gave out. Beacon chimed in across his comlink, overriding it so all could here. "Colcha, we've arrived in Wild Space - Bunduki, I think. But power's out across the ship. We're in atmosphere, our angle was bad for re-entry; we can blow the hangar to escape - "

Whistler screamed at her. There is no way you are blowing a hole in Mirax's ship!

The next moment, lights resurfaced, but Vergere was no longer there, her voice over the comms. "We are going down, stabilising - some kind of storm - I need you in the cockpit, Eleanor, Colcha, your droid is babbling but isn't connected so I have no idea, Whistler is too busy to translate -"

By the time they reached the cockpit, the ship was landed, and a mighty dust storm was rustling overhead -

A town was before them, and -

A sole figure was standing before them, someone who would be just as surprised to see them as they would him.

    His name was Ashban.

From Master Horn's Data Files: Bunduki

Bunduki was a planet in the Pacanth Reach. It was home to the Followers of Palawa, who developed the martial art of Teras Kasi. Many of the Followers, including Arden Lyn, fell to the dark side of the Force and joined the Minions of Xendor. The planet was conquered by the Epicanthix, apparently during the Clone Wars. After the Galactic Civil War, this region of Wild Space fell into obscurity.

From Master Horn's Data Files: Followers of Palawa

The Followers of Palawa were an ancient group that studied the Force and midi-chlorians. They fled their homeworld of Palawa to the Outer Rim planet of Bunduki after Palawa was destroyed in a long-ago war involving the Jedi Council.

The Followers of Palawa developed the martial art of Teräs Käsi as a means to keep the Jedi in check, presumably so that another world would not be destroyed by the Jedi Council. They also mastered a deep trance technique which they could use to sleep for decades without aging, somehow tapping into the Force through meditation. During the First Great Schism, many of the Followers, including Arden Lyn, fell to the dark side and joined the Minions of Xendor.

The Followers were still in existence, as hermits, on Bunduki, in the years following the Clone Wars.

From Master Horn's Data Files: Arden Lyn

Arden Lyn was a female Human and master of Teräs Käsi who belonged to the Followers of Palawa. This ancient Dark Jedi, along with her fellow Palawans, joined the Legions of Lettow upon the advent of the First Great Schism between Force users, and became the lover of Xendor, head of the Legions. When Xendor was killed during the conflict, Lyn ascended to leadership of the Legions, although she was confronted by Jedi Master Awdrysta Pina. Lyn defeated Pina with a powerful Kashi Mer talisman, but the Jedi Master was able to stop Lyn's heart before being destroyed, sending the martial artist into a Force trance.

25,000 years later, during the Great Jedi Purge, Lyn was reawakened in the Unknown Regions by scouts, before being confronted by three of Emperor Palpatine's Inquisitors: Antinnis Tremayne, Ameesa Darys, and Grand Inquisitor Laddinare Torbin. After fighting off Tremayne and killing Darys, Lyn was maimed by Torbin, who spared her life so that she could serve Palpatine as an Emperor's Hand. Lyn did so for a while, spurred on by the Emperor's promise that he would resurrect Xendor from the dead. When she finally came to accept that Palpatine had been lying, she turned rogue, and aided Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin in his attempt to abduct the Emperor. The endeavor failed, and Lyn was forced to flee. She was eventually hunted down and killed by a vengeful Palpatine.

    Age: 49

    Appearance: [IMG]

Personal Effects: Red Blindfold, Dark grey robes and cloak, Yellow-Orange bladed Lightsaber

    Personal Ship: None

Bio: Ashban joined the New Jedi Order long after it had been formed and was an active participant in countless conflicts through the galaxy which involved the Jedi. His evolution from Padawan to Apprentice into Jedi Knight could be said to have occurred in quick succession. His admiration for Luke Skywalker’s leadership was great and undaunted, for Luke was a beacon of Light in the galaxy. That is, until darkness began to descend on the Skywalker legacy and the rest of the galaxy. The rise of Darth Caedus, the death of Mara Jade, darkness and Sith. Ashban found himself craving revenge for the death of Mara Jade Skywalker and countless other affronts against the Light.

And so it came to pass, that he would follow a dangerous rumor that would lead him to the
Sith. A young lass who claimed to be a sith recruiter, promised to make introductions. He went with her to a remote location, and by the time he realized he had fallen into a trap, it was too late. Ashban did not get his wish, but he fought a fierce and furious battle with all the valor he could muster against superior numbers, before he was captured and imprisoned. If he ever knew who they were, he does not recall. He was subjected to many forms of torture for what seemed like an eternity. Time and reality were lost to him, until one day, he woke up in an abandoned compound. Everyone had been killed. The door to his prison chamber was open and his restraints had been removed. To this day, he still bears a great many scars, for it was there that he’d lost the his eyes.

Ashban escaped and wandered for many years, trying to piece it all together. He’d learned Force Sight and sometimes passed as a Miraluka in his travels. Thankfully, his connection to the Force was still strong, stronger perhaps, but it felt very different. Time passed, and he found that sometimes, he would wake up in strange places, unable to remember how he got there. To his own surprise, he found himself in possession of a lightsaber. Still, there was more: In certain locations, some locals would regard him with great fear, others with great hostility. At first, it was all very confusing, that is, until he heard someone call him by a different name.

    Ashmet.

It was then that he knew.

Ashban began to hear the other voice, and he knew with all certainty, that though he’d escaped his torture chamber and his torturers, something dark still remained deep inside of him, and it was trying to take full control.

    Time was of the essence.

Ashban needed to find the new Beacon of Light and help set things right in the galaxy. He could feel himself being drawn to it, to her. He needed to find a way to this new Beacon of Light, before everything went dark.

    ********************************************************
    IC: Ashban
    Bunduki, City Limits

He was here for many moons now, of that he was fairly certain. Ashban did as what now had become his custom, to follow what he felt was a leading in the force. The journey to Bunduki had been long, as well as his sojourn on the planet. For the most part, he made his dwelling in the outskirts of the city, not wishing to draw too much attention to himself. In his coming and going, he managed to learn much about the Epicanthix culture. He rather liked them, somewhat. There was an inherent duality he could appreciate in their ways, however, he had not come here for culture.

Ashban had been growing impatient and sought a sign of the force, a leading, a word, anything. He refused to believe that the trail to the Beacon of Light had grown cold, or that he had fallen out of favor. No, he was being tested yet again; there were always more tests.

As the Force would have it, he had received a partial answer in a most unexpected manner and quite to his surprise. Purpose had returned to him and he felt he was in the right path once again. Not only that, but thankfully, the other had been silent for quite some time now.

On this day, he decided to go for a walk, as it helped him meditate. Little did he suspect there would be a dust storm to suddenly sweep the area; And thus, he ventured out, wrapped in his cloak and only his cane for support.

And so, he found himself caught in it: the dust storm. Though blind, he did not need to see as others did to find his way back to the city. But a powerful sensation in the force caught his attention, causing him to halt on the spot. That was followed by the distinctive sound of a ship landing several paces from him.

Had he eyes, they would open wide in surprise.

Amazed at what he was sensing, Ashban stretched out his hand and waved it in a semi-circular pattern in an effort to gain clarity.

    This was it.

This is why he’d traveled to Bunduki.

“By the Force…” He whispered aloud, though the sound of it was drowned by the dust storm.

    “Finally, an answer.”

"No Beacon, that's not how you treat new friends. No holes are to be made." said Leonias over his telepathic connection as he walked towards the cockpit, waving his hand at a wall intercomm and activating it shortly after.

"Pay it no mind, she's just chattering."

From his training in the Echani Martial Arts, he was taught to make full use of his senses at all times to keep a constant vigilance against attack. Traditionally, a practitioner of the Echani Martial Arts eschewed use of weapons and most notably in this case, the Force, Leonias was a Sun Guard. The Sun Guard broke all the rules their Echani cousins put in place in regards to their racial fighting style, to the point where they had basically made it their own, especially under the new Sun Guard started by Leonias' father Kev-Mas in 4 ABY, where the number of Force Users in their ranks was a significant amount, to the point that they started training in it's use like it was just another weapon in their arsenal or another tool on their belt, and they used it to gain whatever advantage they could. Most notably, the Sun Guard used the Force to enhance their senses even further in conjunction with the Echani Martial Arts.

To the point where Leonias could sense the unannounced Force User as he came, and could pinpoint his position exactly before he even reached the cockpit.

As he arrived, he leaned over towards a monitor on the bridge showing a coordinate display, and pointed at it. "Looks like someone wants to meet us. Right here. Force sensitive."

Eleanor perked up a little at the mention of Leia. General Organa was my hero growing up. I'm glad she's still around. But that means I have to get back even sooner now. She listened as Vergere told her Kylo Ren was no Sith and felt confused but the comment from Leonias Colcha made her curious.

"Force sensitive? Do you think...their friendly?" Eleanor asked quietly. She moved over to the ramp and gently reached out with the force to try and find whoever it was.
