    No matter which way this swings, it'll be fun. I'm all for a straight-up Glover Lando prequel to Solo, but a Last Shot-style, Young Indiana Jones [pre-video edits]-like "Then and Now" structure with Billy Dee and Glover would be lovely too.

    And the best part? No matter how this goes, we get more L3 for certain!

    He was talking about retiring in interviews this past year after ROS came out. He might not be up for non-voice performances at this point- he is 83 years old, after all.

    Hopefully...though there is a third option. Could be a sequel to Solo instead - plenty of time between loosing the Falcon and gaining Cloud City.

    The promo art they used showed the Lando Falcon, so at least part of the series is pre-Solo.

    As much as I need a Solo 2 or sequel with Lando, I cannot get enough of the fancy luxury Falcon!

    By time all is said and done, the Falcon will have the most intro moments of any character or vehicle in the saga. Original ANH "what a piece of junk" reveal, TFA "the garbage will do" reveal, Solo "we are playing the SW theme" impound reveal and, now, likely a Lando "Lando Falcon debut".

    So I know we haven’t had an update on this in a while now, but I’m kinda wondering if they will do the same with the Lando show as they are in the Book of Boba and cover the same elected story split it in to two time periods with both actors reprising their roles.

    I had the same thought when they first announced it, given that Last Shot had the same structure. But I'd really rather have something that could be watched, chronologically, in concert with Solo to further expand that subset era- not 7-8 films, 6 TV shows & 1 theme park later.

    That's what everyone assumed when it was first announced, and it sounded great. Might be getting a bit old after Book of Boba Fett has just done it though.

    Then again, there are multiple shows between Boba and Lando. Might be enough time for the idea to be fresh again, especially if they change up the format and/or presentation a bit

    Agreed. I still like the idea of the split story or a framing device of Billy Dee Lando talking about his past...but if I had to choose one or the other, I would go with Glover

    if they do have Donald Glover it still probably would be post Solo pre ANH

    If they had plans to recast and use those actors in the Post ROTJ era the time to have done it was the Luke cameo and then announce a Luke Spin off

    the fact they didn’t probably means they are gonna keep those characters limited as possible...or in animation

    Seriously, I had always thought the focus would be on Lando's adventures around Solo and leading up to ESB - in fact, I could have sworn I head this show was built using the discarded plan for a series of side movies following Solo leading up to a big mob war in the dark times.

    Has there been some news I have missed to point it to a NR era show or a post-Rise of Skywalker show?

    They have two perfectly great Landos available, it'd be a shame if they didn't integrate them all into a single series. Even if Lando is just relating his backstory to that "OKAY!" Muppet that was driving him around Pasaana.

    So now I hope Billy Dee is definitely included. Emilla Clarke working her way up the ranks of Crimson Dawn (although she seems basically like she's Maul's right hand now). Maybe she (and Lando) ditches him on Malachor at the end and she takes over Crimson Dawn.

    On one hand, can't argue with more Billy Dee but, on the other hand, I'd still prefer it to be a straight Solo prequel that could be watched chronologically. Build up his reappearance in Solo, etc and expand out that era/story/characters more.

    Plus, I feel like if they were going to utilize BDW, they'd be fast tracking the project due to his age, mobility/accessibility. Being more casual about it seems to suggest they're working on Glover's schedule as a focus instead.
