    Leaving Tatooine

    “Achuta.”

Tonia Egvards had been musing about her life on Tatooine when she heard the friendly voice of her boss Zinno the Hutt. She turned to see him slithering towards the supplies room of the medical facility. The Hutt had been very pleased when she came to work at his medical facility. She knew that he had recommended her to the Dantooine rebels to becomethe lead doctor for the new rebel hospital on Dantooine. She hurried after him “chut chut.”

Zinno stopped before entering and turned. “Gooddé da lodia Tonia. Bargon yanah coto da eetha.”

Tonia saw it again in his expression. In his opinion she was the best. She had to go to Dantooine. She gave a thankful nod with a small smile on her face. “Mee jewz ku Zinno.”

    “Mee jewz ku Tonia.”

Hearing the soft goodbye Tonia hurried towards her examination room. She had to get the stats of her last patient on Tatooine. And that patient – an imperial TIE-fighter pilot – had her blinking back a tear. How she hoped that Ben – now guarding the patient – was right when he told her that the imperial would be deserting.

Only one stat on her desk; his. She had been packing her belongings in a box and going for a short break to the arena when Ben – known as the wizard of the Jundland waste – had arrived with her last patient.

Her examination table. Ben had carried him to the table, placing him there with gentle care and not minding that the man was an imperial. He had cut away the flight-suit and had discarded it in the incinerator after taking out a few personal belongings, a comlink and his ID.

She picked up the stat and was drawn again to the pic of his face. Pale skin was framed by short cropped dark hair matted with blood. He had striking green eyes, unfocussed when she checked him for injuries and diagnosed a severe concussion.

There was again the stirring in her stomach when she saw the scans of his broken legs. He would need therapy to get on his feet and walking. How she would like to give him that therapy.

She held the stat in her right hand. His right hand and arm were encased in plaster. Eating and drinking would be difficult. She sighed and left her room. And saw Jesin and Halfir coming towards her.

They too would soon be friends from her past.
    Would she see them again?
Would she see the pilot joining the rebels?
Was this her last meeting with Ben?

Oh, the bittersweetness. @};- Will we perhaps get a Tonia diary next year? [face_batting] :) It's never an easy thing to move on [face_thinking] I just hope Tonia is happy where she's going.
