    Temple Gardens w/ Vanora & Viva - Meditating


    Khalia smiled at Vanora and Viva before heading towards a grass patch to the side of some benches. She preferred the grass area to a bench, not wanting to be worrying about falling off if she was concentrating too much on her meditation. The Twi'lek sat crosslegged on her robe and placed her hands on her knees. She inhaled and exhaled slowly, recalling the breathing techniques taught to her when she was only a Youngling.

    She gathered her thoughts and brought her recent "conversation" with Master Dill to mind.

    "Padawan Octa, what is your purpose here?"
    I was... just visiting Padawan Bovie to see how he was recovering."
    "Very well. I suggest you head back to the padawan level, to your rooms, to meditate on the meaning of 'lie of omission',
    that goes for all three of you."


    Oh, she thought, well, we're not exactly in our rooms...I'm sure this is a better environment for meditating... Her thought was light and unconcerned, but she knew this wasn't a great day.

    Lie of omission.....a lie leaving out the main detail....I didn't exactly lie, I did answer his question. I was at the medbay because I was visiting Padawan Bovie, that was my purpose. He didn't ask "what were you doing today" or "where were you before", right?

    She sighed. She was consciously reassuring herself, meaning she probably should have explained it all - no matter the consequences. Would she though? The Code didn't say anything about lying... No, Jedi served the Light, the Good, lying was not normally considered "good". She told herself she would tell her Master the full story next time she saw him.

    Rak remained quiet as the Chiss took a sip of tea. Applauding softly at him overcoming his disability. He was putting on an act of being chuffed with his friend's progress.

    "You're curious about me, about where I came from, about why I am here." patient smirked Rak choosing to ignore the malicious. "And where the Mandalorian's more direct approach failed, you think your," He stopped for a moment tilt his head towards the tea, "civility will succeed."

    As Rak was about to speak up the Chiss that had entered the room, whom Rak pretended not to notice so as to keep the oblivious nobleman's air, stepped forward.

    "You already have, you're from Noris aren't you." Rak leaned back a little smirking behind his tea cup as he took a sip. This was getting interesting. Though his act wasn't done not yet. He watched amusement plain on his face as the two blue skinned beings bicker back and forth. While it was fun he didn't let the information gleaned pass him by. The pair knew where the other was from, though they didn't seem to know each other.

    "Ohhh...how interesting." He chimed in with a carefree tone.

    "What then, might we call you sir?" Semajj prompted trying to get something out of the captive. It seemed he was going to be direct Rak would keep the charade up. Letting the Ongree take the lead. If Rak looked like a weak link might make him more appealing of a target for a haughty sith thinking he held all the cards.

    He sat quietly for a moment letting the question hang in the air.

    "Do you have any family we might call? So that we can tell them you are here." Another foolish question meant to solidify at least Rak's place as the fool of this group.

    Cora's could hear someone approaching, but it wasn't until she looked over and saw Knight Troi that she realised who it was. Was he sent to find me? Cora thought as she brought herself into a sitting position. "Am I needed back at the Temple?" Cora asked Troi politely. She carefully tucked the message from her mother back in her robes, but she knew that the Jedi Knight had seen.

    "My mother likes to encourage me." Cora said quickly, before the Knight could ask.

    Training Montage

    If you ever need to find Kev-Mas when at the Temple of Light, the first place to look should be at the training facilities, where he'll likely be practicing lightsaber techniques by fighting groups of droids he created for this exact purpose. Whenever he repairs the droids after he defeats them he always upgrades them slightly so they become more difficult to defeat, and he always times himself, striving to beat his best time. Droid rights activists might call it inhumane, but Kev-Mas would argue that since the droids lack heuristic processors and cannot think or feel its no different than destroying an appliance. Even then, the results speak for themselves.

    Of course, the training facilities are exactly where Kev-Mas is at right now.

    Fzzt... whirr... zhiiing...

    Whirling golden blades bisected the heavily weathered droid's shell, slicing it in half.

    Doosh doosh doosh doosh

    A droid holding a rotary blaster fired away at Kev-Mas in a sprayed sweep, who raised his saber pike and twirled it around in response, matching him shot for shot, flicking his blades slightly every so often to reflect bolts. Eventually the hail of blaster bolts stopped and the dust cleared to reveal the droid who was firing them as well as the two droids flanking it poked full of holes lying in heaps on the ground.

    Bzzt-whuum

    One droid remained. It charged Kev-Mas, swinging its electrostaff viciously. The young Jedi ducked under the attack, gripped the staff hard and launched a powerful kick at the droid, followed up with a burst of telekinetic energy, disarming the droid and sending it flying backwards in one swift motion. Hefting the seized electrostaff in one hand and his lightsaber pike in the other, he launched himself towards the droid with the Force, impaling it with the electrostaff and slicing it in half with his lightsaber.

    Panting, he looked at his wrist to check his chrono.

    "42 seconds. A new record. That maneuver against the rotary blaster really helped shave off time."

    OOC: After the initial section here I'm going to be fast forwarding us here by a little bit. It shouldn't be too confusing, but if anyone has any questions feel free to PM me.

    Medbay, Temple of Light, in the hands of the Jedi


    The red eyes of the Chiss darted from Jedi to Jedi as they asked him their questions. Already he was on edge, barely managing to hold things together, though he gave no indication of it. The cool eyes of the twi'lek could be felt upon him even as the Ongree asked of him. "What then, might we call you sir?"

    "You may call me master, for soon you shall all be my slaves," the Chiss replied haughtily, disguising his discomfort. They had yet to tell him of anything of importance, and it would be vital to his eventual escape to at least know where he was. Yet he could give them nothing, doing so would only incur his wrath. The human now, the foolish one, asked, "Do you have any family we might call? So that we can tell them you are here."

    The Chiss raised an eyebrow, this fool truly had no idea. "The only family I have ever needed was the Obscurum, and when Thorn discovers where I am..." he trailed off as he realized what he'd said. He had not only mentioned the Obscurum by name, he had mentioned his, and their, master. His eyes widened in horror, knowing that what awaited him after rescue was a fate worse than death. And so, summoning all his power into one dark purpose, he held himself bodily down as he used the force to violently spin his head to the side, snapping his own neck...




    Chapter III: A Thorn in the Side.

    One week later...

    IC: Beskaryc Taab
    Temple of Light, Saridona Prime


    *Knock, knock, knock*

    Unable even to sigh with the the piece of gihaal he had just shaved off his rations and popped into his mouth, Commander Beskaryc Taab, head of the Temple of Light security forces, could only roll his eyes as he put away his improvised breakfast. Major Barrett's timing was, as always, impeccably terrible.

    *Knock, knock, knock*

    The sound came again as he swallowed the half chewed morsel and slid his helmet over his head. "Yes Major, I'm on my way." He moved to the door, cognizant of his knee, still sore after his hard landing out near the downed ship a week ago. He'd wrapped it of course, but it was nothing that required major medical attention, so he hadn't gone with a bacta treatment. Rest would do it nicely, rest that he surely wouldn't get. Opening the door to his quarters, provided to him at the end of the hall on the Knight's Dorm level out of respect for his position as head of Temple security, he was greeted by the pensive face of his second, Major Barrett. Assessing the blonde woman through his T-Visor he surmised that the news she was about to give him wasn't good.

    "Walk with me," he said calmly as he started to make his way towards his duty station in the Tactical Control Center, the TCC, closing his dorm room behind him. She casually fell into place a half step behind him as she rattled off the current state of the Temple. Everything inside was normal, just about as he expected, but it was the two off world missions that concerned him.

    "The Pegasus checked in this morning, as scheduled." Taab frowned behind his face plate. That meant the issue was with the other mission, not that it surprised him. Unless it was an emergency Barrett always left the bad news for last, so that Taab could process the normal goings on before having to divert all his attention to the bad news. "Nothing out of the ordinary and the Jedi training," Taab listened for any hint of resentment as she said that part, but caught none from the former initiate, "continues on schedule." Taab nodded his head as they passed by Goran (Knight Cora) and Shifty (Rosana Zorbo) in the corridor. Taab gave a brief nod to the Mandalorian Knight as they passed by them, but the pair were so engrossed in their own conversation that he wasn't sure if she saw it.

    "Well good for them," Taab muttered to Barrett, "now tell me the bad news." The Major's head bobbed slightly. "No word from the recon team. Not since Knight Dill sent back word that they had arrived at Noris." Taab grimaced now, though of course his facial expression couldn't be seen under his helmet. "What is that now? Five days?" Barrett nodded as the pair entered the TCC. "Yes sir," she sounded worried, and Taab couldn't blame her. He usually liked to give the jetiise (Jedi) plenty of lee way in contacting the Temple when it came to off world missions. Technically those were Jedi business, but as off world missions tended to affect Temple security, he was kept in the loop. When a Jedi was this overdue in contacting them though, that could mean trouble. "I know we usually give them a week sir, but in this case..." Taab nodded his head in agreement as the other security staff in the TCC stood in acknowledgement of his presence even as he quickly waved them back to their duties. "I agree Major, schedule me some time with the Council, I'm going to recommend a Search and Rescue effort... "

    "They've already asked to see you sir," she responded, taking note of the surprise that roiled from him. "When your duties allow."

    OOC: Just establishing the scene for us a bit, we'll get to our own excitement sooner rather than later. You can all probably guess what that will entail. Silent and SkywalkerShine, It was brought to my attention y'all wanted a scene together talking so there you go. Vagabond, CJ321 and Acyk, go ahead and free lance it a bit with your own character's morning routine (figure it to be about 0600 local time). @Rebecca_Daniels and @Mitth_Fisto are both under attack from DRL, so their characters will be fadingf into the background here at the temple for a bit.





    IC: Padawan Min'ord'krizoo "Nord"
    On the run, Noris


    Lightning flashed high above them, lighting the dark, night time sky for a moment before plunging the trio back into darkness. Padawan Min'ord'krizoo, Nord to everyone at the Temple, breathed heavily. He didn't think this was where they were going to spend the night, it was just somewhere to take a short rest. Then again, ever since their arrival on world they hadn't spent an entire night anywhere. Sleeping for no longer than two maybe three hours at a time, and with one of them always awake on watch to warn them of those that hunted them. Those hunters were relentless in their efforts, and the Chiss padwan didn't see how they could evade them much longer.

    He looked to his two companions, Padawan Colcha was a warrior, a fighter, that much had already been made apparent as they escaped the first ambush that had seen Knight Klusd'dil'remuw fall upon the red blades of the Chiss dark siders that had confronted them. The Knight's last words to the three padawans had been to run, and so they had, but only after Colcha had created an opening for them by dispatching a pair of sith built war droids that had blocked their path. The three owed their lives to him, though Nord wasn't sure how much longer that would last.

    His red eyes moved to the other member of their trio, padawan Octa. Knight Dill had been her master, indeed that relationship was the only reason she was here. They hadn't had time, even over five days, to discuss how that could have affected her or what she was feeling now. From what he had read in texts on leadership that was a good thing, she needed to be kept busy to avoid feelings of guilt or loss that might affect her judgement and safety, but those types of books seemed so far from the reality of the situation.

    A week ago, after hearing that the Chiss aboard the cargo ship had been a part of the Obscurum, Nord and the others had been tasked with heading to Noris, a frontier world in Chiss space, to scout the situation and see if the Chiss dark side group had indeed returned. The Obscurum had played a vital role in the last Chiss civil war (the Ascendancy called it a disagreement) before being defeated. If they were back, the Guardians needed to know about it, the Chiss were after all the closest major power to Saridona Prime, any destabilization there could affect everyone in the Unknown Regions.

    So it was that Knight Klusd'dil'remuw and padawan Min'ord'krizoo were chosen to go. They were the only Chiss Jedi in the Temple at the moment, they knew the language and would more easily blend into the local population as they investigated the potential return of the Obscurum. Knight Dill had insisted that his padawan accompany them, something about ensuring she would understand the importance of whole truth. Padawan Colcha's addition to the team had been a last minute one encouraged by Master Runa. It was to simply be an observe and report assignment, and the wizened old Mon Cal master thought that perhaps learning more about such would prove beneficial to the more martial oriented padawan. Besides, if it did come down to a fight, he could prove useful. As always, the master had been right.

    They had left the Temple soon thereafter, it didn't take much to prepare them for their mission, and after two days had arrived at Noris where nothing had seemed amiss. Their ship, an old Lambda class shuttle, had been cleared by customs and allowed to land in the spaceport without issue or harassment. From there they had disembarked and headed into the city. It wasn't long thereafter that they had run into trouble. "Master, we're being followed." The words had come from padawan Octa, though the other two padawans had also felt it, the cold darkness that seemed to be watching them. "I know," had been the only reply from Knight Dill before he had turned them down a narrow alley way, Nord suspected so as to spring whatever trap the Obscurum had prepared for them and thus confront their enemies. If that had been the intention, it didn't go as planned.

    Almost as soon as they had turned down the alley way they found the opposite end blocked by a quartet of sith built ward droids, the same kind that had been found on the wrecked cargo ship and been destroyed back on Saridona Prime. Behind the Jedi, a pair of dark robed Chiss quickly blocked their retreat, as they fired up a set of red bladed lightsabers. The Jedi were told to surrender, but Knight Dill was having none of it and a small, short, battle ensued. The droids showering blaster fire on them from one end while the Obcurum Chiss advanced with their red blades from the other. It didn't last long as Knight Dill quickly fell on their blades, his last words to them being to run, though the padawans were at least able to make their way past the droids, destroying them in the process. They had been on the run ever since.

    They had tried, on Nord's insistence, to communicate back to the Temple, but their comm links didn't have that kind of range without being routed through their own ship's comm system. A process that was being blocked to them. Either they had forgotten to set up a link before they left the ship in the spaceport, or the ship had been compromised, perhaps even destroyed. Since then the padawans had barely a moment to sleep and catch their breath from time to time, much less a chance to devise some strategy to solve their current predicament. Now, hiding in yet another alleyway in the darkened city, Nord wondered if they would ever get the chance.

    OOC: Just to make sure we're all on the same page. Both characters here and the NPC Nord have been on the run for the past five days following the apparent death of Knight Dill. I leave to you both to fill in any blanks you may wish regarding the events of the past week as it relates to your characters current situation. Any questions, feel free to PM me. Very little has been given to us about Noris in Canon/Legends sources so we're kind of making it up as we go. It's a frontier world so I am thinking something along the lines of Lothal from Rebels, though naturally populated by Chiss instead. :p Right now your characters are within the city limits.




    IC: Captain Ro (GM restricted use NPC)/Lieutenant Kendra (NPC)
    Bridge of the Pegasus, deep space, Unknown Regions


    The eyes of Lieutenant Kendra narrowed as she surveyed the scanning console in front of her confirming what the sensor officer had just reported to her. "Captain Ro," she began as the internal comm system came to life, "to the..." she never finished her statement as the hatchway from the corridor to the bridge opened and the stern form of the Commanding officer of the Pegasus strode forward into the midst of her bridge officers. "Report," she barked out succinctly, an order Kendra was quick to obey.

    "Ship just came out of hyperspace a moment ago, looks like an old freighter..." she trailed off as the craft came closer and they were able to identify it by type and class. "YT-2400, though she looks to have had quite a bot of work done." Captain Ro's forehead furrowed at the news. A smuggling ship, way the frack out here? That was unusual, though perhaps not so much if the final destination was Saridona Prime. The system wasn't on any star charts, so it usually made good sense to drop out of hyperspace near enough to pick up the gravitic signature of the system before plotting a final course. But that meant...

    "She's hailing us." Kendra reported, to which the Captain immediately signaled to patch through to the bridge speaker, her stony visage only breaking into a short smile after hearing what the pilot had to say...

    "Inform our guests that we have another visitor coming aboard, port side docking ring."




    IC: Knight Gim/padwan Elle (NPCs)

    Knight Gim frowned, his arms crossed in front of him as he looked in the direction of the airlock. Of course he couldn't see the airlock clearly, his vision blocked by the sea of legs in front of him belonging to the other Jedi which towered over his diminutive frame. "I could put you on my shoulders," his padwan, Elle, smirked down at him, knowing full well his plight. She chuckled as his demeanor soured even further. "Oh that would be very dignified now wouldn't it?" He shook his head, looking up at the others.

    There was of course Master Kasumi, the highest ranking Jedi aboard ship at the moment and Knight Bonaventure along with the Ryn newcomer that seemed so attached to him, Sanchari her name was he believed. Gim found he rather liked her, she was just about his size, though he wondered if the Council would end up pairing Bonaventure and the Ryn as master and apprentice. It made sense, which of course was an immediate strike against the idea. The Council's decisions rarely made sense to the Ugnaught. Like deciding to send them all out there on a "training cruise" as they called it. An excuse to be rid of a few padawans was more like it. His own among them as well as padawan Raine and apprentice candidate Cinali. The latter had no master as of yet, though she was eligible to be taken on as a padawan, and the former's master, Master Alyn, had remained behind back on Saridona Prime citing her duties on the Council. All in all it was a welcoming, if not overly impressive group. A master, two knights, two padawans and a pair of adept recruits out among the stars doing...nothing. As he thought, just a way to get them out of everyone's hair while real action went down. At least now the boredom had been broken up by this.

    A ship had come out of hyperspace nearby, or so the word of LT Kendra had told them over the ship's internal comms system, and now was coming alongside to dock with the Pegaus. The Jedi were to greet the occupant, a name known to some of them already, though Gim couldn't remember ever meeting her, or her brother. Lenea Sandstrider, she had gone through the trials of the Shadow War back ten years ago, back when the temple had been under siege from a breakaway Sith sect. The arrival of the Pegasus had played a small role in breaking that siege, but Sandstrider had left shortly thereafter. So though Gim had come to the Temple at that time aboard the old Buccaneer class corvette, he didn't think he'd actually ever had the pleasure of meeting with the woman or her still absent brother.

    The airlock cycled with a high pitched *squee* as the internal hatchway opened revealing the woman who had at one time Called the Temple of Light home. Gim found himself bowing in honor, noting with some degree of satisfaction as his padawan followed suit. "Captain Sandstrider," he began. By right it was Master Kasumi's place to greet the dignitary, but Gim never was much one for protocol. "Welcome aboard the Pegasus, what brings you all the way out here?"

    "Captain Sandstrider," he began. By right it was Master Kasumi's place to greet the dignitary, but Gim never was much one for protocol. "Welcome aboard the Pegasus, what brings you all the way out here?"

    Kasumi gave a small smile with Gim’s….she wouldn’t call it forwardness….no, it was the willingness to take control of the situation. Kasumi would usually wait to hear the answer, but thought it best to introduce herself to Sandstrider.

    “Captain Sandstrider, I’m Kasumi. I hope your trip out here was uneventful. I do second the question posed by Gim. What brings you all this way?”

    IC: Vanora Cinali on the Pegasus

    Vanora observed closely as Knight Gim and Master Kasumi greeted the new arrivals courteously. (Knight Bonaventure and his Ryn companion, Sanchari, were so far not speaking to Captain Sandstrider.)

    Vanora felt her stomach tie itself in knots as she thought of her recently acquired friend, Padawan Khalia. She was on a very dangerous uncertain mission and word around the Temple was that communication with the team had not occurred when it was supposed to.

    Vanora glanced over to Viva, knowing she shared her concerns, even more intensely.
    She made her way to Viva and gave her a friendly nod, inviting her to speak if she wished.

    IC: Viva'rra Raine on the Pegasus

    Watching the exchanges take place between Captain Sandstrider and her Jedi companions, Viva stood off to the side, purposely drawing as little attention to herself as possible; it was rather unlikely that she would be expected as a Padawan to say anything, but she preferred not to take that chance. She was currently nervous, and confused, and not exactly in the mood to hastily create some sort of cover and greet this unfamilar newcomer as if nothing was wrong.

    So standing in the corner, deliberately keeping the others' attention from her, she greatly appreciated that Vanora cared enough to notice her, even to invite her to talk it out if she needed to. "Vanora," she whispered, so as not to disturb the conversation taking place between the others, "What's...what's going on? Have you heard any news about Khalia? Do you know anything about her...mission? Or who this Captain Sandstrider is?"

    Viva asked Vanora urgently in a whisper:
    "What's...what's going on? Have you heard any news about Khalia? Do you know anything about her...mission? Or who this Captain Sandstrider is?"

    Vanora frowned. "I just know they were supposed to check in but the time for it has come and gone and no one's been able to reach them. They were tracking down whoever might have been connected with the recent attack on Saridona Prime, I believe. As for this Captain Sandstrider, I think she used to be at the Temple or something like that and is coming back, but I don't know for what or how long." Vanora shrugged. "I know little more than you do, it looks like. Probably if we just stay inconspicuous and out of the way, we might accidentally hear something interesting." She winked.

    Viva winked back, finding it grounding in some way to have something to do, even if it was just keeping her ears and eyes open for any clues as to what might be going on around them. Besides, she'd lived alone on the streets for three years before becoming a Jedi - she was pretty good at picking up information.

    A bit uncertainly, she raised an eyebrow at Vanora. "Do you know whether we're supposed to be doing anything right now or not?"

    Vanora laughed softly at the question & said with more than a little relief. "Probably, thankfully not. There are enough higher-ranking members of the Temple represented. Not unless they ask us to do something in particular, I wouldn't worry about it too much."

    Cora nodded back at Commander Taab as he passed, wondering what the Mandalorian was up to before she turned her attention to Rosana. "So you decided to stick around?" Cora asked casually. "It's nice to have new people. Are you nervous about being here?" Cora added, knowing how she felt herself when she first came to the Temple. "I was when I came, but that was a long time ago." Hopefully Rosana can feel comfortable here. The Temple has a way of growing on you.

    Sanchari was still confused as to why she was on this ship called the Pegasus. Over the past week she’d settled a bit more into her new home. Though she still felt like an outsider in this world filled with amazing beings who could do amazing things. She’d had a few days of visits with some of the Jedi Council members, each of them asking her questions, and having her perform (or attempt to perform) various tasks she assumed was testing her abilities and potential with the Force. She’d been able to hear one Master’s thoughts with ease, but had struggled with another Master’s task of lifting a stone without touching it. Another Master had given her an obstacle course to run, climb, and jump her way through. When she had completed it, he’d felt surprised, and sent her away for a few hours muttering something about the difficulty of finding a baseline for an unfamiliar species. When Sanchari returned, the course was much more challenging, requiring her to really focus. Sanchari would have been a bit sore from it, but the Jedi doctor had been her next visit, and the doctor had demonstrated some meditation techniques to heal, which Sanchari caught on to quite quickly.

    But then, Knight Bonaventure had been sent to fetch her, and said they were going on “a mission”. She’d packed the couple of sets of clothing she’d been given, unplugged BZ from his charger, and followed him.

    Now, “Sarge” was standing over with the other Knights, who were talking to a ship captain from another ship that had docked with the Pegasus.

    Sanchari heard some quiet conversation nearby, it was the Togruta and Mirialan females. Sanchari had been introduced to them at some point. Everyone in the Temple had introduced themselves or been introduced to her at some point. There had been too many faces to keep them all straight in their head, but she could remember their feel. Vanora was taller (and not just because of her striped montrals), older, and felt kind, caring and warm. Viva was shorter (only a bit taller than Sanchari), seemed to be about her age, and though she felt generally kind and caring too, she often felt just as lost and occasionally skittish as Sanchari, she’d probably had a difficult dangerous past, too.

    Sanchari padded over to them quietly, her feet nearly silent on the ship’s deck. She opened her mouth to speak, but realized she didn’t really know what to say, and didn’t want to interrupt. She waited, not very long, for one of them to notice her.

    “Hello.” Sanchari whispered with a little wave of a fuzzy dark purple hand.

    "Meld with me," he projected telepathically, "Our senses will be combined and that way we can better make sure we don't get separated from one another, or worse..."

    "You know I can't go back."

    Lenea planted her hands on her hips, staring at her brother. Daniel didn't meet her eyes. He looked over to the side, at the old carvings in the Temple walls. He rarely left these days. She could see it in the wrinkles crossing his face, and in the slump of his shoulders. Her brother was working himself to the bone, constantly trying and trying to modernize their home and build it up. For all that he left the Guardians...

    He was still a Jedi. He still believed they could do good out here. He just wouldn't do it together.

    "I think you're being a big 'ole wimp," the bruenette sighed, brushing a hand through her hair. Blue eyes stared balefully up at her elder sibling, as she sighed heavily. "Eh, whatever. Mind if I borrow the Spirit, then?"

    Daniel winced, not disputing her point. He raised a hand and weakly waved in the direction of the new hangar. "If you want to take her, feel free. I'm...sorry, for what it's worth."

    "You worry too much." Lenea sighed again, reaching her hand out to place on her brother's arm. He didn't flinch away at least.

    Ever since she had nearly died. Ever since he had seen that Rakata. He was terrified of what he could be, and Saridona constantly brought those memories up. It was why they had left, and why he wouldn't return to the Guardians unless something made him.

    But...

    Lenea wasn't her brother. She may have stayed away herself, yet, that was more in the interest of making sure she could actually fight when she went back. She knew that. And now that she wasn't completely hopeless with the Force or a lightsaber, maybe it was time to head back. If nothing else, she could see some old friends. That was, ostensibly, the reason she was here asking her brother to leave. It had been too long since she saw some of those Guardians.

    "I'll tell them you said hi, yeah?"

    Her brother jerkily nodded, "Yeah. Arrica and I will be here, if you need anything. Be careful...alright?"

    A deep laugh echoed in the temple, and Lenea shook her head. Daniel's lips finally twitched up in a smile. Both of the siblings knew the younger one well enough, to know that 'be careful' did absolutely no good. Lenea would do what she wanted, and Force help anyone who told her to stop. Or be careful. It was just who she was.

    Letting her blue eyes drift open, and the memory fade, Lenea smiled at the greeting party in front of her. Their ship was even older than the Redemption- the current one, at least. And part of her wanted to go digging into the machinery spaces, and figure out what made it tick.

    Later, Lenea.

    That could wait though. She didn't recognize one person in front of her. Not surprising, since she didn't recognize the ship. Part of her was still a little disappointed though. No sign of Zey. No sign of good old Tim, probably her best friend back on Saridona. Even if it was a decade ago. And not even any sign of the crusty old Mando that was in charge of security at the Temple of Light.

    Hmph.

    "Captain Sandstrider," One of the men was the first to greet her. An Ugnaught of all things. Huh. That was...a thing?

    I mean, I've seen stranger things than this.

    "Welcome aboard the Pegasus, what brings you all the way out here?"

    Before Lenea could so much as open her mouth to reply, another woman did it for her. Blue eyes trailed over to meet...well, she would say equally blue eyes. There was something off about the gaze that she met, though. Savior knew she couldn't put her fingers on it, yet, there was something there. She'd ask her brother, but he wasn't here, was he?

    Ah well.

    “Captain Sandstrider, I’m Kasumi. I hope your trip out here was uneventful. I do second the question posed by Gim. What brings you all this way?”

    Waiting a second to see if anyone else would speak up, Lenea smiled again. Spreading her arms wide, she tilted her head at the group in a silent question.

    "I could ask the same, considering where we are."

    And spoke the same question out loud, because why not? Smile remaining firmly in place, she let her hands drop down, while her gaze went over everyone. She really really wished there was someone here she knew, honestly.

    "Since you know who I am, I won't. I decided to go visit Saridona, being as it's been a long time since I stopped by." Here, her smile did fade. If only slightly. "I was kind of hoping to run into some old friends, at least."

    She trailed off, wondering just what she would find at the Temple. If she ever got there.

    Khalia knelt on the cold ground, attempting to hide her lekku under her hood. She had taken the jewel out of the lekku band, making sure it wouldn't glint in the light or attract any unwanted attention. Hearing Kev-Mas speak, she moved closer.

    "We need to get out of the city," he suggested, "Every moment we spend within the city limits puts us at risk of being captured."

    She offered no words in reply, just a nod. Her thoughts were elsewhere, but no where in particular, lost in her mind. Her fellow Padawan's telepathic connection broke her out of her thoughts. At his statement, she closed her eyes and reached out to Kev-Mas and Nord, then out to the city. She tried to sense a way out, any opportunities yet to reveal themselves, anything dark or possibly blocking their path...

    Viva watched the Ryn approaching she and Vanora - surely they'd met at some point, but there were so many residents at the temple - some permanent, some preferring to wander the galaxy - that she couldn't quite recall who this one was exactly. But she looked friendly enough, and sinking into the Force for a second, she felt a warm light radiating off of her.

    "Hello," the girl greeted in a whisper, and Viva got the distinct impression that she wasn't quite sure what to say.

    "Hey, I'm Viva," she responded with a grin, eager for a distraction from her worries - plus she really wanted to make new friends out this experience, and this Ryn seemed really nice. "I'm sure we've been introduced before, but... honestly I don't remember your name." She hoped that she hadn't said anything offending; sometimes the cultures from all around the galaxy were hard to keep track of. With a smile to show that she wished to be friends, Viva stretched out her hand for the Ryn to shake.

    Vanora observed as Viva greeted the newcomer, whose Force presence was tentative but friendly. Her appearance was quite adorable, Vanora thought, with a rush of relief & admiration that she could have survived the ordeal, up to and including the crash near the falls.

    "I'm Vanora, and I must say I truly admire what it took for you to survive everything including the crash." She grinned and indicated BZ. "No small thanks to your droid, as I recall from the accounts of those who were right there on the spot."

    "Hey, I'm Viva," the Mirialan responded with a grin, "I'm sure we've been introduced before, but... honestly I don't remember your name."

    Sanchari grinned as she took Viva's hand.

    "I be Sanchari." She had a whistling, somewhat musical lilt to her quiet voice. "It be okay, I do not always remember people's names either."

    The Togruta spoke up as well.

    "I'm Vanora, and I must say I truly admire what it took for you to survive everything including the crash." She grinned and indicated BZ. "No small thanks to your droid, as I recall from the accounts of those who were right there on the spot.

    "Thank you, Vanora. BeeZee be on the ship already when I stole it from the smuggler. It be BeeZee who piloted us here, and did what it could to land the ship when I ran it out of fuel. BeeZee be a good friend."

    BZ warbled <I was just doing what I have been programmed to do, assist my new mistress>.

    "But that also be what friends do, BeeZee." Sanchari patted the green and silver droid on its domed head. "Help each other, like I helped you be fixed and upgraded."

    "Do either of you be knowing what exactly we be doing here?" Sanchari continued quietly, not wanting to disturb the Knights and Masters nearby. "I just be following Knight Bonaventure, he said the Council be wanting me to 'tag along'."

    Viva felt her lips quirk into a tiny smile as her new friend spoke - she was fascinated by the Ryn's accent, and the way she spoke. She found it endlessly amusing to watch she and her droid bantering - few people knew she could understand droid binary.

    "Do either of you be knowing what exactly we be doing here?" Sanchari asked, with a slightly questioning look, still quiet so as not to attract unnecessary attention from the masters.

    "Nope," Viva replied, with a clueless grin. "Vanora might - but honestly I'm about as confused as you look. She says we're gonna "pick up information" but that's just code word for spy. You in?"

    "NO" Rak's voice called out as he stretched out his hand trying to stop the death he knew was coming. Like Erso, he could feel the death coming. His ploy had worked, he'd gotten some information out of the sith. But, the price was...high, maybe too high. Yes that man wanted them dead, would have killed every last one of them given the chance but, that didn't make them beyond saving. Though Rak wasn't the best for that. He might be good at talking circles but, actually changing someone's mind, that was a different beast.

    His eyes open slowly, could be morning, could be evening, the wanderer's life wasn't ruled by the chrono, his soul woke when it woke and slept when it slept. This freewheeling lifestyle may not have conformed to norms but, when did Rak ever care about that. As he got out of bed all he could feel was an ache, his wandering bones were hurting. It had been a week, a week that he'd been within the walls of the Temple of Light. He could feel the walls closing in on him.

    He needed to get out, soon.

    Taking a quick shower he stepped out dressing in comfortable pants, a simple shirt, and boots. Looking in the mirror he puts on his jewelry his overabundance of ear piercings. The light glinting off the silver and gold brought a smile to his face.

    Out of the small fresher he looked through the closet full of cloaks and coats of varying designs. His hand fell on a simple tan long coat with many pockets inside, one of his favorites. Pulling it on he brushed his hair over the collar letting it rest loosely and slightly wet on his shoulders. His gaze came across a simple pendant of amethyst, a gem he'd started wearing in memory of those he lost. He put it on with reverence whispering the names to himself. Zoe, Aroon, Letali. The last bit he needed were his blades. Two hilts held in a simple sheath at the small of his back. With a flick of his wrist he spun his cold lightsabers around on their finger rings, before slotting them in their place.

    Going down the boarding ramp he looked around, wondering what this day held for him as he made his way to the kitchen to get some breakfast.

    He hoped for a chance to get out of the Temple...His bones were aching for adventure.

    Getting up was always the worst part of any day, though as a Jedi Knight the the Ongree was far better at managing the weariness of it than he use to. He always enjoyed the peace and tranquility of rest, the patient wonder of dreams where anything was possible.
    Though life would not wait for him to get out of bed, and for that reason he made it a point of waking from his slumber early.

    He spent the following hour in meditation, using Jedi techniques to reinvigorate his body, and search the force for answers to life's many mysteries.
    He rarely got a strait answer, though on this day the feeling was loud and clear.
    "I need breakfast." he offered a subtle chuckle as his stomach growled for him to get a move on.

    His joints creaked subtly as he stood, and moved across the dark blue carpeting in his room, over towards the fish tank that was the only item of note in his chambers beside his bed, meditation pad, and a small bookcase that held those few items he was in the middle of reading.
    Observing the tanks sole occupant for a second, Semajj took a moment to fill the auto feeder so his pet would have something to eat too. If he were called away on a mission the feeder ought to keep Red happy and healthy for a week or two at most. Any longer and he would have to ensure one of the temple droids would refill it.
    The blue goober fish swam eagerly towards the feeder to get the new flakes while they were fresh, and Semajj smiled at the ways even such a small creature could be so expressive in the force.

    Finally he grabbed a brown over robe off the floor, and moved out of his room, a quick stop at the refresher, then breakfast, then off to the library so he could read the new collections Master Octaris had gathered.
    Such was a normal day in the life of the Ongree Jedi Knight.

    OOC: This will be a short update as I'm still setting the stage for two groups. Sorry for the delay, I know this is a busy time of year for many and I wanted to give everyone a chance to post before moving us even this far, but we've waited long enough.

    His buy'ce (helmet) cradled in his arms Taab didn't bother hiding the scowl on his face as he left the Council Chambers, the heavy Wroshyr wood doors closing behind him. The meeting with the Jedi leadership had gone about as well as expected, that is, not at all as he would have liked, but he couldn't dwell on that now. He had orders.

    Placing the helmet back over his head he activated the comm system and tapped into the Temple's internal PA system. He thought back to the members the council had instructed him to inform before he began to speak their names over the intercom, dispensing with the nicknames this time for the sake of clarity. "Knight's Troi, Nosrep, Avarray, Cora, Sodi and Acyk report to the main hanger briefing room." He paused, leaving the channel open for a moment. He didn't want to say this next name, the others mentioned were Jedi knights, accomplished each in their own way and more than capable of tackling the mission to be assigned them. This next name though was a virtual unknown, and not someone he would have remotely thought ready for a mission of such magnitude. "Recruit Zorbo," well there it was, he'd started, might as well finish. "Report to the main hanger briefing room."

    "We need to get out of the city," padawan Colcha suggested, though it sounded more like an order. He was by far the most experienced padawan among the three so Nord found himself inclined to take them as such. "Every moment we spend within the city limits puts us at risk of being captured." Nord nodded again, not sure of what to say or do. He was exhausted, and not thinking clearly. He certainly had no better idea at the moment than to just keep running. He felt a telepathic nudge and joined the meld, though it was difficult. With how tired they all were there was no telling how long they could keep it up. The world around him seemed to brighten slightly, and he got a sense of things he couldn't see. They were near the edge of the city, on the far end of it from the starport, so getting back there would be an issue even if they tried. They could sense multitudes of people, Chiss mostly like Nord. Many were asleep in their homes, though a few were awake and going about their normal night time routine. Nothing about any of it seemed to register with the dark si...

    Wait, there it was, a cold darkness coming towards them. It was their pursuer. He (it felt like a male presence) was frustrated, angry and now with their senses joined together they could tell, he was alone. No other warriors, not even any droids as he attempted to track them down. "He's that way..." Nord said as he pointed back into the city. "Maybe a few hundred meters behind us." His words came out almost trance like, whether as a result of the meld or his own exhaustion he didn't know. "We should go."

    Padawan Elle rolled her eyes at the antics of the younger padawans, whispering among themselves as if this were some sort of slumber party. Grow up, she wanted to say, though she knew that vocalizing that would earn a sharp rebuke from her master. He of course was smiling idiotically as Master Kasumi and Sandstrider spoke briefly to one another. "Temple has changed a bit since you left," Knight Gim finally said gruffly. "There are a lot more of us, and we're better organized." He frowned for a moment. Even so with nearly a thousand Jedi, it always seemed as though it was the same dozen or so master Knights and padawans that handled all the excitement. He shrugged to himself, sometime he wondered if the Force didn;t see them all as players in some great game. "I'm sure there are a few still around from back before you left." He curled his lips slightly as he looked up at the ceiling above their heads. "Master Zey of course is still on the Council, and there is Knight Nosrep..." he trailed off. He couldn't think of any others off hand that would know her, though like their Mandalorian head of security Gim was horrible with names. "In any case I'm sure the..."

    He was cut off as the deck lurched suddenly beneath their feet, the familiar sensation of the ship going to hyperspace. Klaxons sounded and the voice of Captain Ro echoed down through the corridor. "Condition yellow, condition yellow. Would the Jedi please report to the bridge at once." There was a pause before the captain repeated herself two more times as the Jedi themselves, along with Sandstrider, began to follow her instructions and headed towards the bridge. "Well, so much for the little training cruise."**

    "Its a good thing he's alone, otherwise we'd be bantha fodder. Yes, lets go." he said telapthically, projected through his thoughts into the meld.

    Kev-Mas looked behind his back towards the direction their pursuer was in before he slowly shifted his vision forwards.

    "Move on ahead of me. I'll take the rear so I can better defend against our pursuer if he catches us."

    Sanchari wasn't sure, the idea of spying on someone triggered worries of getting caught, and getting in trouble. She reminded herself that these were much nicer people than she was used to, but she still didn't want to find out what would happen to her if she DID get caught doing something she wasn't supposed to.

    "I--" was as far as she got before there was a sudden lurch, and spikes of confusion filled the emotions of the beings around her. What was happening?

    A voice came over the ship's speakers:
    "Condition yellow, condition yellow. Would the Jedi please report to the bridge at once."

    Sanchari looked around, she wasn't quite sure if that meant her, too. She was an initiate, the Council had said, so she guessed it meant she was one of the Jedi.

    She didn't have any idea how to get to the bridge, except that it was obviously not ahead of them (the docking port that the Captain had just come through). So as the senior Jedi started to move, she caught up to them and kept close behind.


    OOC: from what I can tell of the typical CR90 Corvette layout, it's down a corridor and up an elevator to get to the bridge, I think.
