OK, as short as possible: the Ewok pointing the spear at Han Solo and getting zapped by R2-D2 has a girlfriend and they're the beta couple of the 1985-1986 Ewoks cartoon and some accompanying material...and other than the fact that she's a girly girl type in appearance, nothing about them is typical. If they lived in our world, they would be a pair of hipsters or art house folk.

 

I hope bad means nerdy and not wrong about how I see it. You see, the only other pair I ship is Pluto/Charon.

That's precisely why I am bringing this back to where it should be.

You mentioned objectifying female athletes on the previous page and I'm 100% sure that some volleyball players protested against the skimpy wear recently because it's not practical, but their plea was rejected...because sponsors.

 

I think Han and Leia's relationship and sassiness are owed more to their upbringing. Instead of the Rich and privileged upbringing by both Padme and Anakin.

 

Er... anakin was a slave, and Leia was a princess. wtf are you talking about?

 

Anakin was a slave for a short while. The Jedi Temple itself was a privileged place.

Leia was also a senator who had to deal with the empire and all the bad that came with it. Padme only watched it unfold.

And more often than not, I mix up stuff from this thread with the feminism thread I frequent on another board, so I never know which was discussed where...

I guess I'm on the fence with this one. I suppose the uniforms could be seen as too revealing, or whatever, but in this case, I think it's more of a practicality issue. They are playing in sand. I dunno... like I said, on the fence. I can see it from both angles.

There's also the issue of the way the sport is covered by the media. What if every Olympic sport was photographed like beach volleyball?

pretty awful to hear about the comments she got, but i like her response.

 

Yeah I've seen this before. I don't get revenge porn and whilst it's a positive to see someone defiantly stand up against it it's still a scenario where someone has to have a courageous response to utter cowardice.
